Daily Mindfulness Spirit Halloween Tarot/Halloween Oracle
Eight of Cups - You are on a journey, coming and going - and sometimes you have to leave or take a break from something to clear your head. Sometimes you need to be alone and sometimes you just need a new creative outlet. But you are not burning any bridges by doing so, you're just venturing outside your comfort zone for awhile. Recharge yourself and know you will be safe while you do so. Pirate - These guys are always coming and going - out to sea for awhile then back into town to enjoy the booze and what not. Although I have the suspicion that many pirates burned A LOT of bridges before leaving town, a few of them were gentlemanly enough to leave things as they were, (history is a little fuzzy here) The Veil (Future) A curtain, dividing the world of the dead with our world of the living. This veil thins as Samhain approaches, and this means our ancestors are closer as well. This is a time of listening closely to the messages we receive now and of planning our futures with the help of those who have gone on. Today: Look for messages that may be helping us to move forward on our path, even if it means letting things go. Move out of your comfort zone and know your ancestors have your back.

Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Death (Thoth) The Universe is Change; every Change is the effect of an Act of Love; all Acts of Love contain Pure Joy. Die Daily! Death is the apex of one curve of the snake Life: behold all opposites as necessary complements, and rejoice! (BOT) I love this Death - he is joyful and dances quite happily with his scythe, reaping new life on the ocean floor. Alchemically, Death is the final stage of the Great Work and while we can't see the Orphic Egg that we have been creating, it is here that it is preparing to hatch. Crowley says, "So also, the formula of continued life is Death, or putrefaction." Death (AA) As much as we grasp, holding tightly to things, if Death arrives, we will need to let it go. As hard as it may be, it is necessary - this Death transforms us into the next phase of our Great Work. When things stop working for us, we need to cut them out and make room for what comes next. The companion card to Death is the Emperor and I think that is the perfect match for what is needed here. We need that firm, no nonsense attitude when dealing with Death. Be firm and know in the long run it is the right thing to do. Together: One can be dead long before they die and that is a horrible way to live. We need to make space for new growth and opportunities to cleanse and clarify what we want to achieve. Step away from the lifeless and go to what is truly alive. This is also a time to look at our shadow sides and embrace them - we need to be whole to truly live. Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Have you ever asked the Tarot something and then looked at the cards you pulled at thought, "Well that looks like NOTHING about which I just asked..." and then you realize, it totally answers your question? Yeah... LOL Two of Disks This is the first manifestation of this element and disks, representing Earth (earth is the throne of spirit) we have now completed a cosmic circuit or as Crowley says, "having got to the bottom one immediately comes out again at the top!" The ouroboros is a great symbol for this. He also calls this card, "the picture of the complete manifested Universe, in respect of its dynamics." The yin/yang symbols look quite like the dividing cells of nuclei - what will soon be the material universe and they carry the symbols for the elements within them. Everything needed to create! Two of Coins This card indicates a need for balance and harmony in all aspects of your life. If even a small part of us is out of whack, it can affect everything else. This is the time to look at everything going on around us and within us and finding that perfect balance to walk. This could take a bit of creativity on your part but that is all part of the process! Together: The harmony of change...Any change is connected to reassessment. Priorities will change as we develop and grow and it is important to constantly assess and balance everything that surrounds us. Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Life has been sorta stressful this week so I finally asked the cards what I could do to help alleviate the chaos... spot on. Four of Swords This is a time of short respite, of sitting atop the crackling chaos for awhile, but we will soon need to return to it, which is why it is vital we take the time to stop when it is offered. When we are in the midst of chaos we need to stop and sort out all we have experienced and breathe out the confusion. Contemplation, reflection and meditation are vital to our happiness and well being. This time will also give us the distance we need to let our inner knowledge free. Relaxation from anxiety, quietness and rest after our struggles. When we give ourselves this gift, we can then plan our way forward before any turmoil returns. Four of Blades Rest is what is called for now. Giving yourself some well needed downtime. Things can get stressful and chaotic in life and when we don't stop to give ourselves some simplicity, everything can snowball out of control. It can be frustrating to stop and do nothing but right now, that is what is needed the most. Together: A mental break will give you the rest and mental clarity you need to get back to the Great Work and the world at large. Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Ace of Wands The element of Fire in its inception. A solar-phallic outburst of flame from which springs lightnings in every direction. This Ace represents Kether and Atziluth, it holds within it ALL the cards of the Minor Arcana - A fiery, sexual, creative energy - this fire has the force of instinct, vitality and Will. This Natural gift from the Universe is being offered to you right now. Take control and create you world. Ace of Rods This is a fiery and creative energy that gives us the push we need to start anything we wish! This is not a time to fear risk, this is a time to trust your instincts and yourself. Don't let this raw energy get away - act now! Together: This is a great opportunity to focus your Will on what you want to accomplish and use this fiery, creative energy to get it done. Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
The Fool (Thoth) The Fool holds all the other trumps inside itself, from him, all the rest flow outward - as Crowley says, "In the card itself there is a glyph of the completion of the Great Work.... exactly as the Fool symbolizes its beginning (he is talking about the Universe) The Fool is the negative issuing into manifestation; The Universe is that manifestation, its purpose accomplished, ready to return. The 20 cards in between exhibit the Great Work and its agents in various stages." The Fool (AA) The beginning, or rather, the pause before the beginning. When all things are waiting and anything is possible. You have all the energy and support you need - you only need to decide which way to jump. Together: Now is the time, the pause, the spark before the flame of creation. All things are possible if you are brave enough to take that leap. Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
The Aeon This card deserves a study on its own but in summary, it covers the new age or Aeon that we are now in because the old one was outdated and it is a fascinating read. For our purposes today, it is about a new Aeon, or era of life, that is ready to awaken in us. It is a time of looking at our actions of the past and letting go of the hurts and anger and bringing the good lessons forward - it all builds US and we can choose to create ourselves any way we want to. As Crowley says, "Final decision in respect of the past, new current in respect of the future; always represent the taking of a definite step." In other words, don't waffle now. Stand strong and take a definite step to complete The Great Work! Judgment Nearing the end of our travels, we reach Judgment and now is the time to really look clearly at ourselves. Strip away the masks and facades and see who we truly are. Whatever we have done in the past is a lesson to be learned and then take the lesson forward, but leave the baggage behind us. Forgive, accept and be ready to renew into the new version of yourself. Together: This is a time to see ourselves clearly, through the lesson of the past, to become who we are truly meant to be. Fortune The whole of our history is on this wheel. Each revolution brings us further along our path and we have the overview of our past to learn from. Right now our Fortune is changing and this is usually for the better. Usually, the Wheel also brings bad luck and changing luck and as Crowley says, "This card thus represents the Universe in its aspect as a continual change of state." What we put out in the world, is what we get in return. Also, it's a good thing to remember that the most stable place on that wheel is the center. If we can stay centered, we can remain balanced through all the turns, up or down. Wheel of Fortune Round and Round we go and when the Wheel shows up, it's letting us know that things are going to be turning for the better (unless your crappy karma is coming for you) but we will assume we have all been proper citizens and now is the time to reap that reward. I love that the companion cards to the Wheel are the Magician and the Sun, which means it shares attributes with those cards and vice versa. So, take this opportunity to create positive changes in our lives - we have all the elements we need and the Universe is now giving us a gentle push of help! Together: Stay centered, stay positive and be open and ready for anything. Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
The Hermit (Thoth) Illumination from within. "Be not moved by aught without or within: keep Silence in all ways." (BOT) This card has so much symbolic goodness in it and I should do a in-depth study of it on it's own, but for now, let me try to sum up its basic ideas. The Hermit is the officiant at the wedding of The Lovers and is an expression of male creative energy. He sits in Virgo and Mercury is exalted there. Virgo is the mutable sign of Earth. The Hermit carries the lamp of the Sun with which he lights the world. And that right there is the combination we need for the fulfillment of The Great Work. Also, Virgo's Hebrew letter is Yod and all other letters are created from its basic form. And our Hermit is very Yod shaped, with the head of Thoth/Mercury. And that is a lot to ponder, while we sit quietly and move within, learning, growing and sensing what it will take to complete our Great Work. The Hermit (AA) This is the time of introspection and solitude. When things get chaotic, we need to indulge in a little self-care and down time to help clear our minds and souls. When we look inward, without the clutter of the outside world, we can see a lot more clearly what we want and where we want to go next. Together: Reflection and seclusion isn't something you should save for special occasions. This time helps us concentrate and to become self-aware - which is necessary in our Great Work Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Queen of Swords Water of Air, she is a tornado waiting to happen, and just by looking at her you can see she will take zero crap from anyone. Let's zero in on that decapitated head in her right hand, shall we? It's very important! Swords = Yetzirah (Formative world) and it's human soul counterpart is the Ruach, the Intellect. Hence the head. Our Queen has sliced the higher faculties of the intellect from the lower nature or animal soul. She is as Crowley states, "the Liberator of the Mind." Incredibly perceptive, observant and confident as well as icy cool at times. She uses logic over emotion. Queen of Blades This Lady is quite keen, intelligent, independant and can be icy at times. She takes in everything around her even if it looks like she isn't paying attention. She reminds us that this is a time to stand up strong and be independent. Gather your information, see things from many perspectives, create your goals and to use your rational, logical mind. Don't let your emotions get in the way at this point! Together: It's a time to be strong and independent. Use logical thought and don't let your emotions run away with you |
