Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Death (Thoth) The Universe is Change; every Change is the effect of an Act of Love; all Acts of Love contain Pure Joy. Die Daily! Death is the apex of one curve of the snake Life: behold all opposites as necessary complements, and rejoice! (BOT) I love this Death - he is joyful and dances quite happily with his scythe, reaping new life on the ocean floor. Alchemically, Death is the final stage of the Great Work and while we can't see the Orphic Egg that we have been creating, it is here that it is preparing to hatch. Crowley says, "So also, the formula of continued life is Death, or putrefaction." Death (AA) As much as we grasp, holding tightly to things, if Death arrives, we will need to let it go. As hard as it may be, it is necessary - this Death transforms us into the next phase of our Great Work. When things stop working for us, we need to cut them out and make room for what comes next. The companion card to Death is the Emperor and I think that is the perfect match for what is needed here. We need that firm, no nonsense attitude when dealing with Death. Be firm and know in the long run it is the right thing to do. Together: One can be dead long before they die and that is a horrible way to live. We need to make space for new growth and opportunities to cleanse and clarify what we want to achieve. Step away from the lifeless and go to what is truly alive. This is also a time to look at our shadow sides and embrace them - we need to be whole to truly live.
