Skull of Stars - Infinite Possibilities This card reminds us to think bigger about the future and the things we want to achieve. Let go of negative thoughts and old beliefs that may be holding us back. We are not small - we are made of the stars and born with unlimited possibilities! With all of your being live the life YOU want to live and honor your truth. The High Priestess - Here we are reminded to access our unconscious. The High Priestess is a keeper of esoteric knowledge and wisdom. There is wisdom and knowledge everywhere we look if we choose to see it. When we look within we can see and access those truths and reach a higher level of enlightenment. Go deeper, beyond the obvious and see the unlimited possibilities within. So today, we need to look within ourselves at the unlimited possibilities we hold inside. We are the stuff of stars and can access so much knowledge and information if we choose to find the quiet within and see what wisdom waits for us.

Daily Mindfulness
The Veil - Ancient Celts believed that during the longest night of the year the veil between the world of the dead and the world of the living was thinnest and communication between these worlds would be more effective. While the worlds are close, listen to what messages may come for you! Six of Pentacles - A balance of give and take - it could be money or energy or what have you, this is about giving when you can and asking for help when you need it. Showing gratitude is important here as well. Use your talents to create and share with others, opening up that flow of energy and prosperity. Arachne -Arachne was a talented mortal weaver who challenged Athena, goddess of wisdom and crafts, to a weaving contest; this hubris resulted in her being transformed into a spider. When Athena saw that Arachne had not only insulted the gods but done so with a work far more beautiful than Athena's own, she was enraged and punished her by giving her a lot of legs and bald. Don't tick of the Goddesses is a good idea here. So today, remember to show gratitude for what we have and what we can share and show thanks to those who have gone on before us when they give us messages to help us on our path. With that gratitude comes humility as well. No need to brag or think yourself better than others - it will just end badly - I mean, you probably won't end up with extra legs and no hair, but you never know. Best to play it safe on this one. Daily Mindfulness
Scrying - this is a divination technique of seeing unconscious images in or on a surface, often from the divine. The best way to scry is to be relaxed and mindful of what you are about to do. Quiet your environment and settle your mind. Think of what you would like to see or know and once you are in a relaxed state, rest your gaze in a unfocussed way upon your scrying surface. Don't try to rationalize or over think, this is about receiving not thinking. True wisdom is a balance of logic and imagination. Nine of Cups - Cups focus on emotion and this card is about having enough for yourself and to share with others. There is a great bounty and much to be grateful for. What do you have in abundance that you can share with others. Make all the wishes come true today! Kraken - a legendary sea-creature who loves nothing more than to hug ships and toss them in the air with glee. I think he may be viewed as monstrous, but really, he just like shiny things and no one understands that. Kraken sees ship of all the things, Kraken hopes you will share. Usually, someone ends up killing Kraken. Kraken is sad. So today, look inwards to see what you have in abundance and be happy to share your shiny things with anyone who is in need. Your generosity might just save a Kraken and everyone ends up with shiny things! Daily Mindfulness
Winter - During the winter season everything slows down, some plants die back and animals hibernate, at the end of this seasonal cycle. When Winter comes to you it is time to let what no longer serves die away. Anything that is extra or burdensome, let it go. 5 of Wands - A little bit of everything happening here. Strong energy but has no real direction. This can be confusing and distracting and we need to focus. Make the effort to find a way to channel this chaos into a working plan or strategy. What parts of your life needs extra focus right now? How can you get above the chaos to focus your energy productively? Chimera - The term Chimera has come to describe any mythical animal with parts taken from various animals. The sight of a Chimera was an omen for disaster. It was finally defeated by Bellerophon with the help of Pegasus at the command of King Lobates of Lycia, after terrorizing Lycia and nearby lands. So today, we focus or energy out of the chaotic confusion that can get us all tangled up. We find what no longer serves us and let it go. When we make the effort to concentrate on what we really need to be doing we can cut through our own Chimera of destruction and settle down for a nice winter nap, chaos free. Daily Mindfulness
Forgiveness - If this card has come to you it is time to look at the heavy burdens we no longer need to carry. Old hurts, grievances and negative feelings that we hold tightly to can build up over time and keep us stuck in place. It is important to release these feelings, forgive the hurts so that you can move on. This is for our own health and wellbeing. The Tower - Lightning cracks and illusions start to shatter. Things are going to happen quickly and out of the blue - you have the choice to watch it happen or jump in and drive that change as it comes. This is a call to wake up and make some space for new things. So take control of it and ride that lightning. Gargoyle -These creatures are said to frighten off evil spirits and protect those that it guards, such as a church, from any evil or harmful spirits. So today, be ready to forgive old hurts and disappointments so that you can clear space and negativity. Channel you inner gargoyle to protect you from any quick striking lightning... or you can stand tall and ride that lightning to a new beginning! Daily Mindfulness (Crazy Sheep Edition)
Skull of Flowers - This is the creation from the old to the new. Like the Death card, things sometimes need to fall apart in order for us to start fresh. If the Universe is giving you a blank slate to work on, think about what you really want to shape your life into. As hard as it may be to let go of the old habit of us, paint yourself the life you really want. Let your inner phoenix rise from the ashes and bloom. Seven of Swords - This card kind of tells us that there may be many sides to one story. What something looks like may not be what it really is. A trickster-ish energy that uses quick thinking and strategizing. Using your wit you can get what you want if you ask for it. So what do you want and who do you ask to gain it? Create a strategy and turn on the charm Cannibal - Yeah, ok, I had trouble NOT LAUGHING at the sheep on this card, hence the insane close-up. But our Cannibal does illustrate the whole 7 of swords ideal there. He wants brains. He stomps around the pasture with his insane brain eating sheep and he gets what he wants. I am not sure if he is using charm so much as just taking and eating on the run, but he is getting what he wants. So today, start thinking about things you need to let go of and also think of how you want your life to be. Aim toward the best possible you that you can imagine. Use your charm and your quick thinking to help paint that picture and if you find yourself wandering in a pasture full of crazy sheep... RUN - you don't need that kind of negativity and or brain eating, in your life. Daily Mindfulness
Skeleton - Reminds us that there is strength in showing our vulnerability and facing our fears. By showing who we truly are we can receive better understanding from others. It is ok to admit we are wrong or we don't understand something as well. Asking for help shows more strength than being a martyr. Show your strength and vulnerability. Let go of shame and embarrassment - you don't need to carry those! Death - It is a time to let go of things that no longer serve you. What needs to be pruned from your life? What can you do to make space for better things to come? DEATH* is fascinated with humans in general, and as a result attempts to emulate their behaviour, if only to better understand them. However, as an immortal skeletal being who does not have to pay heed to fatigue or even time, he seems to lack comprehension of some human concepts, such as detective novels. So, when DEATH and BINKY come riding into your life - it is time to look closely at what you are holding on to that you need to let go of. Even if you think it doesn't make any sense. So, today is a good day to look within and gently ask yourself what can you let go of? What things are holding you back? Ask for help if you need to - show your strength by truly looking at yourself and your life and seeing the things that are holding you back. Then kindly and with love, let them go. *I decided to use Terry Pratchett's Death character as he is my favorite. Daily Mindfulness
Nightsong - Nightbirds are considered either omens or messengers of the gods. They can bring good luck or warnings depending on how they are perceived. They are guides to help us discover our talents and purpose. When they appear they are a reminder to look within yourself and see what gifts you have that need to be opened. See your true potential and claim all the possibilities you have inside. Page of Cups - communication and emotions using intuition and following your heart. Express your love and joy freely with emotion, let your heart lead the way. Satyr - were characterized by their ribaldry and were known as lovers of wine, music, dancing, and women. So today, let yourself be totally yourself. Look within and see who you are and be proud of that. Find your gifts and mine them - claim your potential with open heart! Love yourself with all your heart. Daily Mindfulness
Skull of Darkness - We are being encouraged to look at the bits of us that we might not normally focus on. Even if we don't like certain parts of ourselves, in looking at them we often find some great insight there. By ignoring or hiding these aspects of ourselves over and over, we keep repeating patterns that keep us in a painful loop. Do the work, look at the issues we are hiding and learn the lessons - then we can move forward. 4 of Swords- This is a time of rest and contemplation. Find a place where you can calm the running thoughts and anxiety. Make plans for the future so you have a map of where you would like to go. Use this time to meditate and let the worries rest. Once you have a game plan you will be more focused and ready to go. Vampire - After spending a long night on the prowl, it is now time to rest and most likely, digest? Today is a day to think, not act. Use today as a time to relax and slow down. Think about where you want your future to head and make a game plan to get there. Daily Mindfulness
Eternal Love - This card is a reminder that love is the most powerful force in the universe - (remember Harry Potter's Mum saved his life with love!) Love lingers even after death - something to think about every day we have on this Earth. 3 of Swords - This just looks painful... at first. But when broken down, it is easier to deal with. Swords are about thinking - so something in our thoughts has caused us pain. So, what in our thinking is causing us to hurt? When we can see what our thoughts are doing then we can try to stop that train of thought. Release the painful thoughts and replace them with positive healing ones. Alien - (I have to admit, I have been looking forward to seeing this card since I bought the deck LOL) So, Aliens show up and at first many many bad things happen. Your kid hides him in the closet or you end up building mountains out of mashed potatoes at dinner. But eventually, you find a way to communicate with your Alien and find a way to help it home. Communication! So today, keep your thoughts in a peaceful order and try to do things with love and compassion. Otherwise, you may end up with a thing bursting out of your chest or perhaps a uncomfortable probe stuck somewhere.... |
