Daily Mindfulness - Vice Versa Tarot
Decided to do one more draw with this deck and it was very apt, since I am doing some shadow work during the New Moon. Strength - The reverse/back is called That Side. This lets us see *the other way around* Unlike the side we are used to seeing, which shows a woman gently playing with her lion, this one shows the woman, in this deck she is The Empress, sitting under an eclipsed light, her infinity sign glowing very brightly, a life force itself. The devil looms over her and he can threaten all he wants but this Strength is powerful and refuses to be dimmed. In a reading, this is telling us to face our shadow sides and to claim them. Release the things that no longer serve (the devil) and don't let them have any more power over you. We don't have to repeat the negative patterns over and over - we can confront them and let them go.

Making magic today! Actually, I kind of am - in that I chose today, the Super Black New Moon to do some shadow work and that is always a special kind of magic.
Staying balanced and knowing that I am going away from the scary emotions to much smoother ones. Daily Mindfulness - Vice Versa Tarot
This is a great deck I used to walk the Fool's Journey with last year. You can read that here. The cards have 2 sides, the front, which is the main side in a regular deck is referred to as This Side. The reverse/back is called That Side. Eight of Swords (That Side) From this POV you can see that the bound woman's ropes are very loose and in fact she has a sword in her grasp - making it much easier for her to cut her ties and walk into the gentle landscape that awaits her. The eagle hovering over her symbolizes a far-seeing perspective, one you get when you remove the blindfold. We are being told here that rescue is US. No one is coming to cut us loose because we are well able to do it ourselves. If we choose to stay then we are playing the victim and that is never a good thing. However we ended up here, it was through our own doing and the best thing we can do is marshall our thoughts, focus and break free. Hmmm - I feel this is backwards Ha Ha
I woke up way too early and out of sorts which is more the 8 of swords - much to do today so I need to reconfigure my spears - it's all in how you hold it! Daily Mindfulness - Marseille Tarot
I love this deck but I am terrible at reading with it LOL La Papesse/High Priestess Per Jodorowsky, this first woman of the Majors appears to us as a cloistered woman sitting next to an egg. (It took me awhile to even realize there was an egg there LOL) The egg is a symbol of gestation and incubating. She is often seen as a sorceress or initiator. Her book symbolizes study and knowledge - it is flesh colored, which tells us she is studying the laws of human incarnation. It has 17 lines on it, which links it to The Star and her kinship to it. There is a section of Jodorowsky's book where he has the card speak and this is what she says, " I have formed an alliance with this mystery I call God. When I contemplate my own flesh, wood, stone, I detect within them the energy of the Creator. I vibrate in tune with the Universe - the energy of all creation comes to me. I therefore invite you to join with me what is divine within you. I inhabit my body like a sacred place; I can give myself the position I deserve at any time. No one distracts me or makes me deviate from what I want. I give myself to God who is the only secret" The Marseille is a lot more connected to the religious aspects than some of the decks I use. But one can substitute *the god of your understanding* in place of God, but it speaks to the same thing: Faith, knowledge, solitude - as well as incubating those things until you are ready to burst forth in understanding. So the Lovers totally matched my dreams this morning. And the 8 of spears is my afternoon so far, go go go, lots of energy moving around. And there is also a crow making lots of noise outside too.
My (k)night looks pretty chill though so that will be nice after a day of movin and groovin! Daily Mindfulness - Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle
Juniper I had a bunch of juniper plants in my yard when I was growing up. I had a love hate relationship with them, in that they were great for cushioning any errant rollerskate falls, but they held all manner of spidery things in them. Mostly I remember the smell, which was very sharp and invigorating. Which is this plants oracle property. Invigorate! This is a reminder to wake up, be animated and revitalize yourself. Juniper is ruled by the Sun and brings us much needed clarity when we are lost in the fog. How will you invigorate yourself today? It's funny, I woke up from a weird dream feeling rather sad. At a loss for something and look at my morning card. The nice thing about the five of cups is that there is always more waiting for you.
Perhaps that is what the afternoon holds, pondering what waits, seeing where I am now and where I hope to go. And my future, this evening seems to be looking back at me - waiting and confident that I will arrive when I am supposed to. Daily Mindfulness - Santa Muerte Tarot
Queen of Pentacles Water of Earth: This Earth Momma is connected to Nature and at one with her surroundings. Trusting, warm and compassionate, she is in control and willing to climb higher to achieve her needs and to care for those in her circle. If this energy calls to you, it's a reminder to open your heart and create a haven around you - when you have a stable environment, you feel safe and secure, ready to do your thing! So many courts LOL
I rarely read the courts as people in my life, usually they are just aspects of me or the person I am reading for. This bunch seems to be telling me to stay the course, be open and ready for new creativity and new directions. |
