Daily Mindfulness Spirit Tarot/Halloween Oracle
Spirit: The Sun: All is well in the land of you. There is bright light and joy. Share that light and love with others - Life is meant to be fun - so enjoy it! Phoenix - Associated with the Sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. The old dies away so the new can be reborn. Skull of Light - Illumination This is such an important card because it shows us the need to face our shadow side. If we know our darkness then we can better deal with the darkness in others. This can ease anxiety and lead to a more balanced life. Light that comforts us can also shine on the things we would rather hide - but don't fear those things! They are a part of us, they make us whole and facing them is a victory. Allow yourself to be seen and shine in this light! Together: Let yourself be illuminated with the bright light and energy of the Sun today. Let is shine on all of you - and be reborn into a totally whole YOU. Santa Muerte This card beautifully portrays the meaning of Death - profound transformations are coming now. Life and Death happen in a circular fashion and without one you cannot have the other. Santa Muerte brings new possibilities but she also brings change and for us to have room for the new, we must cut out the old. Spirit: Death - It is a time to let go of things that no longer serve you. What needs to be pruned from your life? What can you do to make space for better things to come? DEATH* is fascinated with humans in general, and as a result attempts to emulate their behaviour, if only to better understand them. However, as an immortal skeletal being who does not have to pay heed to fatigue or even time, he seems to lack comprehension of some human concepts, such as detective novels. So, when DEATH and BINKY come riding into your life - it is time to look closely at what you are holding on to that you need to let go of. Even if you think it doesn't make any sense. *I decided to use Terry Pratchett's Death character as he is my favorite. Together: Don't be afraid of the changes! Let go of the things that are stagnating and cutting off your energy flow. Old ideas, old habits, old ruts - let them all go so you can move forward - where you need to be! Daily Mindfulness Spirit/Santa Muerte Tarot
Spirit: The High Priestess - Here we are reminded to access our unconscious. The High Priestess is a keeper of esoteric knowledge and wisdom. There is wisdom and knowledge everywhere we look if we choose to see it. When we look within we can see and access those truths and reach a higher level of enlightenment. Go deeper, beyond the obvious and see the unlimited possibilities within. Fortune Teller: This one seems self explanatory - I think we all see that Hollywood Gypsy woman looking into a crystal ball - but it's a lot simpler than that. When we quiet ourselves we can see our own inner crystal ball and that helps guide us along the way. High Priestess (SM) This card reminds us to take a time out from the outer world to look within to study and learn what our inner wisdom and knowledge has for us. When we get too busy in the world, we can often miss answers and opportunities because we are stuck in the chaos. So take some time to meditate - see where you need to go and what you need to do to get there. Trust your inner voice to lead you well. Together: Take some time to center yourself and go within. The answers you are looking for won't be found in all the jumbly chaos of the world, but inside you. Daily Mindfulness Spirit/Santa Muerte Tarot Spirit: 3 of Swords - This just looks painful... at first. But when broken down, it is easier to deal with. Swords are about thinking - so something in our thoughts has caused us pain. So, what in our thinking is causing us to hurt? When we can see what our thoughts are doing then we can try to stop that train of thought. Release the painful thoughts and replace them with positive healing ones. Alien - (I have to admit, I have been looking forward to seeing this card since I bought the deck LOL) So, Aliens show up and at first many many bad things happen. Your kid hides him in the closet or you end up building mountains out of mashed potatoes at dinner. Maybe even... probed! But eventually, you find a way to communicate with your Alien and find a way to help it home. Communication! 3 of Swords (SM) Well that just looks, unpleasant LOL The thing is, sometimes we just get these thoughts and ideas and we THINK they are good but in actuality, not so much. When things we aim for start causing conflicts and losses, we need to rethink our strategy with rational clarity. Prudent decision making is needed here so that our thoughts and outcomes don't start getting all stabby on us. Together: Communication and clear thinking is needed right now! Don't let your thoughts run amok - stay rational and think up a solid game plan before moving forward. Remember, get the alien home - do not let it probe you! This is a good Alien named Aliem. He will bless you as you go by.

Spirit: Judgement - the looking back over my life and let's see what can be improved card. We should always be evolving and moving forward on our paths, awakening and transforming ourselves. Decide what works and let go of what doesn't as we move along the way. Cerberus - the HellHound that guards the gates to the Underworld so no one escapes. He also has 3 heads. Hagrid had one named Fluffy that kept watch over the entrance to the Sorcerer's Stone. But all you had to do was play him *a bit o' music* and he fell asleep. Judgement (SM) One of my favorite depictions of this card - it shows Judgement as the master of the four elements. He calls us with a loud voice to remind us about the power of renewal and reawakening. This is a time to look closely and evaluate where we are, what we are doing and where we want to be going. Are we walking the path we are meant to be on or are we veering off and getting distracted? Together: Judge where you are - is it the path to the Great Work, our ultimate goal? Or are we being distracted by shiny things? (I love shiny things) Be sure we are moving forward and evolving and not getting stuck or stagnating. And it doesn't hurt to play a bit o music along the way. Daily Mindfulness Spirit Tarot/Halloween Oracle
Does this post make my hippo look big? ;) Spirit: Nine of Swords - Worry is a waste of time and energy. Don't let your thoughts control your path. Let go of unhelpful beliefs and don't let your thoughts run away with you. Allow things to unfold as they will - you are the master of your thoughts and you control where you are going. Conquer the negative thoughts and replace them with positive intentions and plans. Basilisk: A serpent who can cause death with a single glance. The weasel is the only animal that can face and even attack it. It can only be killed with the crowing of a rooster, so, until very recent times, travelers were carrying a rooster when they ventured into areas where it was said that the basilisks lived. Best to either keep your eyes closed til morning or carry a rooster and or weasel with you at all times that way you are covered for anything and you don't need to worry about it. A Hand mirror is also helpful, it kept Hermione from death! Vampire: Seductive, desirable, and kind of terrifying? Vampires have been lurking in the public consciousness since the 1800s - sometimes they have been thought of as "shiny." (Vampires, really shouldn't *sparkle.*) In this case, this card shows up when we are being drained of emotional energy - someone is feeding off our energy and that should never be allowed without permission. Be sure to raise your boundaries and be aware of who is around you and what is draining you so that you can stop it accordingly! Together: Right now it is time to strengthen your boundaries and put your energy in order. You have a lot of thoughts running around in your head, keeping you up and leaving you drained and the best way to deal with it is to remind yourself that you are in control and you decide which thoughts and which people you are going to interact with. And maybe keep a weasel in your pocket... just in case ;) Daily Mindfulness Spirit Tarot/Halloween Oracle
Spirit: The Emperor - Power, control and authority. Someone to take charge and take care of business. Also excellent self-control. Remember you control your destiny - you hold the power. Also, don't be stubborn - that Aries self loves to be stubborn. Things will change - don't cling to things that want to move into other things. Sphinx - a mythical creature with a human head and the body of a lion. Strong and resilient it has lasted centuries in the desert. It also asked crazy riddles... "Which creature has one voice and yet becomes four-footed and two-footed and three-footed?" She strangled and devoured anyone who could not answer. She gave Harry Potter a good riddle and he eventually got it! Black Cat Cats - mystical and magical - and kind of stubborn at times too, but nonetheless, these slinky creatures should be seen as good luck - not the bad luck ascribed to them in the Middle Ages and beyond. If a black cat should grace you with its presence, keep an eye out for good things and positive omens and be prepared to take advantage of them when they arrive! Together: Today is a day to stand strong in your power and to keep an eye open for the many opportunities that surround you. Daily Mindfulness Spirit Tarot/Halloween Oracle
Spirit: Queen of Pentacles - The lady of abundance and sharing. She is generous and loves to share her bounty with others. She can manifest what she needs and is unselfish in nature. She values her gifts and shares them with others with love. Dryad - are nymphs or tree spirits. They exist to watch over the tree they are born with and in rare cases, groves and other creatures. They are not something to be taken lightly but are deserving of the respect granted to any divine being. They bring a sense of life and natural being to the places their trees inhabit and are mysterious and unique. One of my favorite stories is about Eurydice, , an oak Dryad who fell in love with Orpheus. One day a snake bit her and she died. Orpheus was heartbroken and convinced Hades to let her go. Hades agreed but said if Orpheus looked back even once to see if she was following, she would never be released from the Underworld. Just as Orpheus was stepping out of the Underworld he felt a moment of doubt and looked back. Eurydice was not quite at the threshold and was swept back in. *cry* Hearth In Ancient Rome, the spirit or heart of the home was the hearth. It was where they had their family altars, gathered for food and where the fire of Vesta was kept burning. Vesta was the Goddess who gave her protection - when the husbands would go off to war, they said, "keep the home fires burning," - to bring them home safe. Or in Modern Times, "We'll leave the light on..." (Motel 6 anyone?) This card reminds us to create our own safe space - where you can communicate with your loved ones and also somewhere safe to come home to. Together: Today might be a good time to channel your nesting side. Creating a safe and comfortable home is vital to have a place to live, return to, hang out in - somewhere that you are always loved and know that you are cared for and safe. It might be nice to keep a fire burning for Vesta or a special treat for any dryad's in your yard, another layer of protection! Daily Mindfulness Spirit/Santa Muerte Tarot
Spirit: King of Wands - Fiery wands and the focus of the Kings...A great leader with strength and nobility. Confident and controlled with their emotions and has mastered his passions. Willing to take chances and lead the way if no one else steps in. How can I guide myself to channel my passions and have the most productive emotions? Anubis: God of embalming and watching over the dead. He ushered souls into the afterlife and attended the weighing of the heart - to see what happened to the soul. Protector of graves and cemeteries. Make sure your heart is light. Control yourself and be a strong and focused person - so your soul is lighter than the feather. King of Wands (SM) The figure is pointing the way as this King pushes to aim higher to our ambitions and goals. He has wisdom, honest and faithfulness and can bring success to our projects. This is a person you can trust and know the relationship with them will be rewarding. Together: There is a lot of energy with this card, so open yourself up to it and let it blast open any blockages you have as well as show you the way to go. This energy can protect you and focus your attention where it needs to be so trust it and trust yourself - know you have success coming. |
