I thought I would like to walk through the Egyptian Tarot deck one card at a time to learn more about it. This deck actually puts the Fool after the World, but I am sticking him back at the beginning - it seems more apt there. I can tell from the first card that this is going to be a deck that doesn't hold it's punches. The Fool Man as a slave of matter, takes his mistakes with them and heads into even more mistakes. Blind and heedless of any dangers around him he has a lack of discretion and no perception. He is like a blind man with a bag on shoulders, a stick in his hand and is walking towards a broken obelisk. Also, a hungry crocodile is waiting for him to get closer. So - there a probably some misfortunes threatening you, and right now you have to open up your heart and mind and try to have faith while you walk. Take off your blinders and become self-aware and pay attention to your surroundings. I may have to buy the regular size deck which comes with a better book - I am also wondering if the hieroglyphs actually spell anything. I have a hieroglyphic alphabet guide but the drawings are small and not very clear on the card. I must investigate further!

Time to look within now - trust your intuition and stay open to the mysteries of life. The Priestess Crowley says: In this card is the one link between the archetypal and formative worlds. She is clothed only in the luminous veil of light. It is important for high initiation to regard Light not as the perfect manifestation of the Eternal Spirit, but rather as the veil which hides that Spirit. She is light and body of light. She is the truth behind the Veil of Light. She is the soul of light. .. . She is the initiatrix - connected to the lunar goddess - the huntress and to the mysteries of the woman. She links the hidden and mysterious secrets of the beginnings of life. She is the bridge between our conscious and higher selves and works through our subconscious - in dreams and synchronicity. This is a time to go within and listen for these messages and trust your intuition. Daily Mindfulness
I love this Princess - she is so kind and dreamy but has the groundedness we need to get things done. Princess of Cups Earth of Water The Character of the Princess is infinitely gracious. All sweetness, all voluptuousness, gentleness, kindness and tenderness are in her character. She lives in the world of Romance, in the perpetual dream of rapture. (BOT) .. . The Princess and the Ace have a special relationship. The Ace is the root - the Princess is the end result, the materialization of what was potential in that Ace. She is not all dreams either, even though Crowley sure makes her seem that way - she is Earth of Water, so she stays grounded. Dreams and romantic ideas from her are made manifest - she is the perfect fertile ground for making dreams a reality. .. . Stay grounded in reality and focus your intentions. This Princess makes your ideas into something you can make real. Daily Mindfulness
Five of Disks This card looks like my brain when it is trying too hard to sort out ALL THE THINGS and begins to panic when it can't make sense of anything! Without the previous cards structure we get antsy about things. This brings trouble to our material world and anxiety to us as we try to deal with it. .. . The best thing to do is take things one step at a time. Try not to feed the anxiety/stress machine by dealing with the things you can deal with and let go of the things that aren't actually in your way. This way you can find a working solution to the obstacles you face. Daily Mindfulness
Yes! Time to dance and joyfully, with our reaper. He brings new life and new opportunities - and be honest, isn't it time you moved on to something fresh and new? Death The Universe is Change; every Change is the effect of an Act of Love; all Acts of Love contain Pure Joy. Die Daily! Death is the apex of one curve of the snake Life: behold all opposites as necessary complements, and rejoice! (BOT) .. . Death and the next card, Art - go hand in hand from an alchemical point of view. It almost seems as if Art should go first as it gives us hints of the final stages of the Great Work and Death is the final stage! The Orphic Egg is now in its last stages of development, getting ready to hatch! .. . Death is about putrefaction - and while that sounds absolutely disgusting, it is not. It is a vital part of the Great Work - putrefaction is the chemical changes which develop the final form of life from the Orphic Egg. .. . This Death is nothing to fear - this one is happily stirring up the sea bed, churning up new life. "So also the formula of continued life is death, or putrefaction." Crowley. If we want to continue to grow and thrive, to finish our own Great Work, we need Death. .. . Don't fear the reaper. Daily Mindfulness
I have to admit, I never felt a kinship to the disks/pentacles suit until I started using Thoth. And I love this card! If you are a maker or want to start creating, she will help you grow! Princess of Disks Earth of Earth - "she is strong and beautiful, with an expression of intense brooding, as if about to become aware of a secret wonder." .. . Earth of Earth makes her the lowest court card of the lowest suit. She is the Malkuth of Malkuths, pregnant with all possible potentials. The key to perpetuating life in the universe. .. . Creation, growth, generous, kind and courageous. This card brings new growth, new starts and keeps us grounded in the earth. Be excited! We create our universe! Daily Mindfulness
I love this card - so full of balanced creative energy for us to use! Three of Wands Sol in Aries, this card gives off the feeling of a brilliant heat - the solar energy of creation. The Sun in Spring when it wakes things up again. Crowley says, "The idea has become fertilized, the triangle has been formulated. .. . The great power and the Will to use it is now fertilized. Established force, strength, realization of hope. Success after struggle. We learned to gather our Will and now it is time to be sure we are centered and balanced. Be aware of what it is we truly want and understand how to go about creating it. Be confident and believe in yourself Daily Mindfulness
Wait! Don't go! Trust me, this looks a lot worse than it is. This is a powerful energy that can manifest a powerful transformation. You can do this! The Tower Crowley says: Break down the fortress of thine Individual Self, that they Truth may spring free from the ruins! (BOT) What destruction we start here in the Tower, we finish The Aeon. This is a natural process that shouldn't be a massive cataclysm. It can FEEL like one but it is necessary to let go of things that no longer serve us or may be holding us back. In the main definition of this card we see "danger, ruin and escape from prison." .. . Escape from prison. That is a great way of seeing this card. Whatever is holding us back from growing and moving forward needs to be destroyed. Trust this process Daily Mindfulness
Every have so much pent up energy running through you but you can't use it? That is a ten of wands moment. Ten of Wands Saturn (the 2 heavy bars) are crushing the light energy wands (Sagittarius) and this card sits way down in Malkuth. This card explodes with energy but it has absolutely no where to go. This is Will which has not understood anything beyond its dull purpose, its lust of result, and will devour itself in the conflagrations it has evoked. (BOT) .. . This is a time to really stay open, communicate clearly and make sure you know exactly what you want to be doing. State your intentions clearly. If something is blocking you, take it step by step to figure out what is happening and how you can focus your Will to getting past it. Don't get angry or aggressive here - that is important - take a deep breath, this won't last long but you need to give yourself focus and stay balanced! Daily Mindfulness
Ahhh and much needed respite from the frustrations of the world right now. Sink into her calm energy and be renewed! The Star This Star is Nuit, not arched across the sky, but in Goddess form. Crowley also says she is the personification of Babylon/Scarlet Woman. The great globe behind her represents the entire heavens surrounding the Earth - so everything we see on the card transcends the concept of infinite space. .. A card of hope and promise and rest and renewal, Nuit gives: Unimaginable joys on earth: certainty, not faith, while in life, upon death, peace unutterable, rest, ecstasy; nor do I demand aught in sacrifice."
