It's time to make some magic people!! The Magus First of the alchemical trump cards the Magus represents the element of Mercury. As Crowley says, "Mercury represents action in all forms and phases. His is the fluidic basis of all transmission of activity and on the dynamic theory of the Universe he is himself the substance thereof." .. Skill, cunning, craft. Conscious action and creation! The Magus is making his world, changing and shaping it according to his Will. That is how powerful he is and you are - you can create your world. Be sure you know exactly what you want though because that is what you are going to get. .. . A quote from the movie What Dreams May Come is perfect for this card: That which you believe becomes your world.

This was a timely card for me as I have been doing a lot of inner work and my dreams have been very alchemical in nature lately. The Lovers Things are starting to heat up alchemically here with the 4 alchemical trump card. This card represents the first part of solve et coagula - the solve or solution. (Coagula is found in the Art card) This is the story of a marriage and a pregnancy and the child of that union, represented by the Orphic Egg that shows up in the cards. Crowley says, "it represents the essence of all life that comes under the formula of male and female." .. . Here in the Lovers is the marriage ceremony. Art has the honeymoon and the Hermit fertilizes that egg. Death keeps the card safe before it hatches. The Egg sits at the bottom of the card and is the latent seed of life. Notice it sits between the white eagle and the red lion (Empress and Emperor cards) and it Art we will see the next stages. The Hermit is the priest of the ceremony - he is making the sign of the Enterer over their heads. .. . The Lovers represent the harmony and balance of opposites. Wholeness - as we were once upon a time before life got in the way with its views and prejudices. This is a time to learn to love without any bounds, no fears and no doubts. This also includes loving the self and accepting who you are and being 100% find with it Daily Mindfulness
It's The Happy Goat Devil! The Devil Can we just pause to LOOK at this Devil? He is a happy smiling glad to be here Devil - the Trump of Capricorn - so a happy goat devil! Goat and scapegoat - the Devil card is much maligned - said to be the bad/evil card, but no. All cards have the potential to be good and or evil - just like we humans have that same potential within us. And the symbolism on the card shows just that. This Devil that people have been brought up to fear is life itself - happy, creative, unrestrained life, wants to grow and unite with everything. .. . This card then is the complete appreciation of all existing things. He represents the finding of ecstasy in every phenomenon and transcends all limitations. .. . Blind impulses, ambition, temptation - are a few of the ways this card can be defined - but if we accept our "good" impulses as well as the "bad" ones, we can remained honest and balanced. We are free to choose! Embrace, don't hide your shadow side - by hiding it, it becomes something bigger or darker than it should be. The Great Work is to reconcile ourselves into wholeness - and we do that by facing all our disparate parts and uniting them together. Daily Mindfulness
Four of Swords I love this card -I call it "the truce with my brain," card. So much concentrated energy just crackling with focus and clarity. The points of the swords meet over a 49 petal rose which Crowley says represents social harmony. This card sits in Chesed which brings it equilibrium and a good spot for manifestation. Our mental processes have stabilized and we have found a perfect balance in this airy element. .. . This card has a lot of balance and stability but for air that can become stagnant if we aren't careful. After using our perfectly balanced intellect for solving big issues, we need to use the time after to reflect on what we have learned and accomplished. A small and calming rest and recharge before zooming back into life again - hence, the Truce with My Brain LOL Daily Mindfulness
Lust This is such a powerful card. Lust (sometimes known as Strength,) is connected with the deities Demeter and Astarte (born by lions) Venus, Babylon and the Beast of Revelation. The Scarlet Woman is riding the Beast here while holding the Holy Grail - imagery that illustrates the ecstatic dissolution of all we are into the universal self of godhead. .. . It is with Lust that we go within - to master our inner lust/animal nature - not to sit on it or ignore it, nor to let it run willy nilly either -but to recognize it and become master of it, so that when we need it, we know how to wield it properly. . The message of Lust is this: At some point we are going to come to a level of consciousness so high that the only thing left is the universal consciousness of deity. Our dissolution into that consciousness is what we are trying to attain. Deity Lusts for that moment when we all return to it and we should also Lust for that moment as well. Daily Mindfulness
Seven of Cups Blug- Crowley says, "This is one of the worst ideas that one can have; its mode is poison, its goal madness. This represents sinking into the mire of false pleasure." .. . Too much of a good thing here. Unbalanced and leaving us sinking in a mire of goop. We might be tempted to enjoy something that may not be good for us and while it will be quite nice at first - it is going to end badly. It is also about being creative enough to turn something negative into a positive if we do so carefully. Daily Mindfulness
The Courts are still abundant in visiting me while in isolation and while I thought today would be a fiery wand - I was surprised at this perfect timing of the Princess of Disks as I am starting down a new path of learning and she is all about new growth! Princess of Disks Earth of Earth - "she is strong and beautiful, with an expression of intense brooding, as if about to become aware of a secret wonder." She is the last of the Court cards - the start of a new cycle. .. . Creation, growth, generous, kind and courageous. This card brings new growth, new starts and keeps us grounded in the earth. Be excited! We create our universe! Daily Mindfulness
Eight of Wands This is some serious fast moving - swift- energy. Anything that needs speed or high-frequency - this is your card. Your brain waves are snapping with ideas and conclusions and you must follow them! Don't waste it while it's here! . This is like mainlining a whole lot of caffeine and then cramming for your finals. You are going to get a lot done RIGHTNOW but it isn't going to last. Maintaining this kind of energy for long will cause a serious burn out so use it wisely. Just remember to stay centered and in control and use this energy to get past any obstacles or challenges that stand in your way. Daily Mindfulness
Princess of Wands Look at that fiery energy swooshing along the card! Earth of Fire, this Princess is the fuel for the fire, self-assured, energetic and independant. She is that crazy audacious friend who is up for anything. The one that says, "let's see what happens when I do this." .. . She can also be a drama queen who gets stuck in her own head and if she isn't careful, she will use her Earth fuel to not only start the fire but blow up the city as well. She has a hunger for life and endless energy to play with. .. . Use this energy to blow out any old fears or habits - grab your tiger by the tail and become the person you know you can be with passion and courage! Daily Mindfulness
Ten of Cups Crowley, in a letter to Lady Harris says, "the background out to look menacing. There is something sinister about this card - it ought to suggest a morbid hunger which springs from surfeit." In other words - perhaps too much goodness - so much so that the cups can't even hold them and it's just all spilling on the floor. Crowley blames Mars (which is in Pisces for this card) He says, "Mars is the gross, violent and disruptive force which inevitably attacks every supposed perfection." .. . So, the generic meaning is: Mattered settled: complete good fortune. Permanent and lasting success and happiness - because inspired from above. .. . Which is a good thing - this card tells us things are in their proper places and that we are finally in harmony with the Universe. I think Crowley's warning up there tells us not to take this for granted. Also to stay mindful of what is happening in the Now - stay in the moment and don't get ahead of yourself. |
