Princess of Swords Earth of Air, this Princess seems to cut through the mental clouds and chatter. From the BOT: she is stern and revengeful. Her logic is destructive. She is firm and aggressive, with great practical wisdom and subtlety in material things. Clever and dexterous in practical affairs. Swords = Ruach, The Intellect. And when we identify with the Ruach we cut ourselves off from our higher intellect and higher levels of consciousness - the Ruach will do what it can to keep us separate, so we continue to think we are Ruach. The Princess is here to sever that idea. The mind can be a great enemy and must be defeated with wisdom, strength, grace and dexterity. Daily Mindfulness Thoth Tarot
Seven of Cups This card seems so perfect if you spent a day eating and drinking too much yesterday. Like, a little is good, too much - not so good. Crowley doesn't much like this card either, he said, " this is one of the worst ideas that one can have, its mode is poison, its goal madness. There may be a lot of cups to choose from - but right now, it is time to pause and think and choose wisely. Do we want it? Need it? Have to have it? Will it be good for us now? What about in the long term? What feels really good now, may just be illusory, wishful thinking. Take care to choose what will be good for you and be sure it is lasting. Daily Mindfulness Thoth Tarot
The High Priestess The Priestess represents the Moon in her higher aspect - that which joins the human to the divine. On the Tree of Life, her position is unique in that its the only middle pillar path that crosses the Abyss. Linking Kether to Tiphareth (Father to Son) joins the supernal triad to the rest of the tree. Crowley says, "in this card, is the one link between the archetypal and formative worlds." She is the initiatrix - the beginning. The most spiritual form of Isis. I love what Crowley says here: She is clothed only in the luminous veil of light. It is important for high initiation to regard Light not as the perfect manifestation of the Eternal Spirit, but rather the veil which hides that Spirit. Thus she is light and the body of light. She is the truth behind the Veil of Light. She is the soul of light. Pure exalted and gracious influence enters the matter. She is the link our conscious and higher selves and will show us in our dreams and through our subconscious what we need to learn. This is a time to look within ourselves, trust our intuition and meditate. Daily Mindfulness Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle
My mind has been focused on plant magic lately and these cards are so perfect for me! Humility - Dandelion This little ball of fluff looks like a weed, but it has some amazing properties! It can be eaten, used as a tincture or even used to make wine and rootbeer. It is full of vitamins as well. Humans and animals can benefit from this wee little plant that many people just overlook. The oracle property of humility then speaks to assessing our own importance in the scheme of things. Often we feel invisible or overlooked and when that happens we need to look at the situation. Are we overestimating our importance? While we are at the center of our own personal universe, we are not at the center of everyone else's. This might be a time to step back and find perspective. Find the value in everyone and everything around you - just like you would like to be valued. Daily Mindfulness Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle
So, a side note: I woke up with several things going pear-shaped and knew at any moment I could fall into a vile mood LOL So, I asked my plants, how can I re-direct this negative energy? I then shuffled and 3 cards pretty much fell out at me, one at a time... this is what they said. Stabilize - St. John's Wort There are times when conflict and upset are just going to happen and it is important to stay clear and calm while trying to problem solve. Focus on the things causing the stress and create ways to deal with them in an orderly fashion. If you can stabilize the stressors in your life - you can better stay on top of your time and resources! Repel - Cohosh Repel, comes from its strong medicinal smell - there are times when we need to repel, reject or push away bad energy or negative situations, including people. If things are weighing you down then stop dwelling, find a way to cut ties and move on. Abundance - Hollyhock While "abundance" usually speaks to monetary wealth - in this case, it is also pointing more toward your health, family and friends and overall well being. This is a reminder to be thankful for what you have in life and not what you don't have or think you want. Living with gratitude and an open heart will attract more of the same energy to you. Pretty clear when put all together - when times get stabby - focus on what is causing the stress. Find new/ creative ways to eliminate those stressors, cut ties from negative situations and move on. Always being thankful for the things you do have right now. Daily Mindfulness Tarot of the Magical Forest
Seven of Wands This little guy is making his stand today. Something is causing his energy or the energy around him to shift and he is no longer happy going with the current flow. Conflicts will happen and we choose the offense or defense position - and we also choose to stand and fight, or let it go because this isn't worth our energy. Stand strong, believe in yourself, have courage and your convictions will see you through! Daily Mindfulness Antique Anatomy Tarot
item. temperance i just love when this card shows up because it reminds me to stop and breathe. this is when there is a need for balance and moderation as well as healing and help from the Universe. this is also a very important reminder to remove the negativity that may be surrounding you right now. it is easy to fall into a funk but to have inner peace you need to ditch negative patterns or anything that may be holding you back. Queen of Cups Water of Water the Great Mother Goddess: "Her image is of extreme purity and beauty, with infinite subtlety, to see the Truth of her is hardly possible, for she reflects the nature of the observer in great perfection." (BOT) Imaginative, poetic, dreamy, her watery nature is a mirror on the water to reflect what's around her. Crowley tells us she is "the perfect agent and patient, able to receive and transmit everything without herself being affected thereby." It is a time for us to reflect upon the quality she projects: love, beauty, and a dreamy nature. How can we use these qualities in our daily life and then project them onto others who need them? Daily Mindfulness Thoth Tarot
Nine of Wands The Nine represents always the fullest development of the Force in its relation with the Forces above it. (BOT) This card indicates great strength and power, a massive force that cannot be shaken success but with strife and energy. As Crowley said, "Defense, to be effective, must be mobile." You have what it takes to get anything done, even if it feels like an uphill battle. Trust yourself, trust the Universe and never doubt yourself! If you start to feel unsure, remind yourself of all the things you have already accomplished and conquered - all that experience brought you to this moment and you can do whatever you need to do! |
