Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle Queen of Cups Here is Sansa reflecting at the Godswood in Kings Landing. This is the card of emotional intelligence, sensitivity and compassion. This Queen nurtures here relationships to all things and when you are in touch with this Queen's energy you are in touch with your emotions. Now is the time to follow your heart and let your emotions lead the day. Violet/Attract The Violet is so incredibly useful, from sweets to medicine to fragrances - it attracts all the things! This plant is a reminder that we can attract more flies with honey than vinegar and that sometimes it is better to be diplomatic instead of starting a confrontation, even if you are in the right. Leaving people a space to speak their piece can open the way to new friendships and new knowledge as well. Nurture that attraction - you never know what it may bring. So today, trust your emotions and your instincts - nurture your relationships and give space let others in, nurture that attraction and let it fuel your creativity! Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle Knight of Coins I need to just take a moment here to say how much I love this tarot deck. Every card is just spot on and so well done. This shows Lady Brienne starting off on her journey to find Sansa and protect her. What a fantastic symbol for this Knight of Coins! Loyal and steadfast - and so much potential for growth and commitments to future goals. Planting the seeds now to succeed in the future by being dedicated to the cause! Huckleberry/Resourcefulness My Huckleberry friend! Given the oracle property of resourcefulness which refers to the plants ability to grow in the weirdest of places, it shows us how we too can survive in hard times. Sometimes we need to find ways to turn adversity into opportunity or to take what resources we currently have and use them to their greatest potentials (instead of wishing for new "better," shinier things). By being patient and waiting for the right opportunities we are building the way to success! So today how can you use your resources to make your opportunities grow? What seeds can you plant now that will give you the best gains? Be determined and steadfast and patient! Great things are coming your way! Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle Seven of Cups Bran doing his Warg thing! Here is a card of many choices, imagination, possibilities and all the things! But it may feel like there are too many choices or we don't have enough information to make a rational choice. If you have to choose, use your intuition, follow that gut feeling as it is rarely wrong if we trust it and ourselves. This is also a great time to follow any dreams or synchronicity symbols that come our way. Fern/Growth The Fern is a plant that will find a way to grow no matter the conditions it finds itself in. Growth is not always easy and leaving the known territories for the unknown can feel scary and make us unsure of ourselves. But we cannot stagnate - like the Death card in Tarot, there are many possibilities to grow and move forward if we only have trust and know that going forward will give us many great opportunities for growth. So today if you find yourself contemplating a lot of different things - and you can't quite narrow them down, listen to that little inner voice, your intuition and let it lead you forward into new opportunities for growth! Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle Four of Swords This is a time of resting and withdrawal, especially if we have been in a period of high stress or busyness. In order to stay balanced and healthy we need to retreat into our personal space for some much needed R&R. It is a great time to gain new perspectives on life and how to go about dealing with what needs to be done but in a safe sanctuary free of outside stressors! St. John's Wort/Stabilize Ok, I LOVE this plant. The oracle property of stabilize speaks to this plants long use as a mood stabilizer and antidepressant. There are going to be times of chaos and high stress in our lives but if we can maintain a calm and clear approach to the issues we can keep our balance so much better. Try to focus with clarity on the things causing stress. Are there things we can downsize or delegate to others? There are always ways to lighten the load if we can look at them clearly and with a stable thought process. So today might be a great day to spend some time alone. After dealing with a lot of lifes chaos, it is always great to get some "me time," and help stabilize and balance our lives. With our minds focused on inner healing we can gain new perspectives on dealing with the outside world with clarity and control! Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle Nine of Coins Daenerys and a baby dragon enjoying some beauty in Qarth. This is a moment of beauty and comfort. A lot of hard work has gone into making this moment and you deserve the time out to enjoy these finer things. Hard work and sacrifice are not always fun but necessary and now you can feel comfortable at home and with yourself. Juniper/Invigorate This astringent plant has been used in seasoning food as well as in medicinal herbs. Juniper also stimulates uterine muscles and can assist in labor. Culpepper also recommends the berries for digestive ailments. Maybe best known as a flavoring for gin, it has a history tied to distillation. The essential oil is bright and invigorating which is where it gets its oracle property. Think revitalization and to bring fresh life to something. This card reminds us to wake up and get going! Using clear sight and decisive decision making we can bring fresh life to things that have stalled out. So today might be a great one to see if anything in our lives needs a little invigoration. Sometimes all we need is a little creativity to jump start any stagnation hanging around. With some hard work and determination we can then sit back and relax in the beauty and comfort we have made for ourselves! Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle Five of Cups Right now there may be some sadness or loss in your life. Sorry, regret and denial can keep us locked into this grief and we may not be able to see a way out. Take the time to mourn whatever it was you lost or had to let go of, learn from the experience and then move forward into the future and what awaits you there. Blackberry/Adaptation Yummy Yummy blackberries! So tasty in so many different ways. It can also be found in pretty much any terrain giving it the oracle property of Adapt/Adaptation. This is a fabulous lesson for us to learn as well... learning to adapt to whatever situation comes up. It may not be easy and we may need to have our defenses up while we wander the new terrain but once we conquer it, we can share what we have learned with others! So today, take time to feel the feelings even if they hurt. We can learn from any situation and take that experience forward with us. Adapting to things may not always be easy but once we get through it, we now have that lesson learned and we can use it later whenever we need to. Adapt, Improvise and Overcome! Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle Eight of Swords This is a card of heavy thoughts. The more swords, the more overthinking we tend to do. When this card shows up we may be feeling forced to fulfill obligations or conform to an ideal that isn't how we want or see ourselves. This can leave us feeling incapacitated and unable to see things clearly. The best thing to do is to try to see things from another perspective - get those unruly thoughts in order and the clarity will return. Hollyhock/Abundance I love this card! Hollyhock is such a great plant. All of it is edible and it is used in many folk medicine traditions as well. The oracle property of Abundance is perfect for this plant, food, medicine as well as shelter for hummingbirds and beetles and moths too. This abundance can relate to money or physical possessions but mostly it refers to health and happiness, community and well-being. It is by accepting what we have and not what we think we need and it also speaks to being of service to the community around you. Living a positive life with gratitude will attract so much goodness and abundance! So today, if your mind is running around like a hamster on its wheel - try to find clarity in the mess by slowing your thoughts down and seeing them one at a time. Looking at them with a rational mind can bring a new perspective. Also remember all of the things you do have in your life and that you are only being held back by the renegade thoughts in your head, which can often be very misleading. Stay positive and honor yourself - you are worth it! Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle The Devil Goodness is this the perfect depiction for the Devil card? Ramsay Bolton "shudder." Ramsay is the epitome of the darkest aspects of the human nature. The chains in the picture show the control and dependency the Devil can cause. The things that cause addictions and dependency, restrictions and excess - they can give short term pleasure but in the long run are very damaging. The important thing to remember is that we can choose to lift the chains and walk away. It is our choice and in our power to do so. Chicory/Sustain Sustain speaks to the usefulness and also the wide availability of the chicory plant, especially in difficult times. This is a great example of how one thing can sustain another. There will be times when we need help from others and in turn they will need help from us. It isn't always easy to ask for help but know it is there and to return that favor when you can. We may not always have the answers but just being there can make a huge difference. So today look closely at how your life is going. Are you finding yourself stuck in old habits and can't seem to find a way to break out of them? Remember that you are stronger than you think and you have the power to walk away from anything that no longer serves you and if you need some help ask for it! Your tribe is always there for you and they can give you that boost you need! You are never alone! Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle Temperance Time to get everything balanced in your life! When we have a lot on our plates we need to assess priorities, schedule things accordingly and also care for ourselves! When things feel out of kilter it is always best to just stop for a moment and find our balance. Just like Samwell's mind balances Jon Snow's might, we can overcome anything if we take time to gather what we need and adjust our lives so we are connected with the Universe and can feel that steady balance. Foxglove/Connection This lovely plant has a lot of associations with the Fae folklore and magic as well as the health of other plants around it. In the oracle context it speaks of our connection with friends, family and ourselves. At times we may feel disconnected from everything and that is when we need to reach out and reconnect with our Tribe and also with ourselves - if we have been so busy taking care of everything else, this is a time for self care. When we are happy and healthy and well rested then we can properly see to everything else. So today may be a good day to schedule some quiet time - rebalance and reconnect with ourselves. We need to stay mentally and physically fit so that we are able to get back out into the world and do our thing! Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle Nine of Swords Poor Grey Wind - Robb Stark's Dire Wolf, being held at Frey castle and we know what happens after that... *shudder* This is a card of anxiety and stress often enough to keep us up all night freaking out over things we may have little control over. Once we get that overwhelmed, everything becomes a massive problem even if it isn't. The best thing to do here is to really look at what is happening in our lives, journal it, talk it over with a trusted friend, make the issues, "right sized," again, so that we can get things in order and deal with them - one step at a time. Hawthorn/Sacred The Hawthorn plant has a very prominent role in magical traditions giving it the oracle property of Sacred. What is sacred to us? Personal objects, spaces, values? Creating a sacred place for yourself can be a vital connection to your higher self and the universe around you. In this space you can meditate, be creative and develop a self-care system that will keep you centered and balanced. So today if things are becoming stressful and chaotic try to find a space, sacred to you, where you can rest for a moment. Having a quiet spot can help you relax and focus on the issues causing you anxiety in a way you can see them clearly and find a way to deal with them one step at a time. Life can get overwhelming but if we have a place to retreat to we can deal with the chaos in a much more productive manner! |
