The perfect energy for starting our trip into the Unknown - and that's a ROCK FACT*. The Greg - is our fool in this deck and it's funny, I wanted to start with him but also wanted to shuffle and see what I got - and there is was! Greg is a perfect example of Fool energy. He is endlessly energetic, has dozens of wild ideas and is fascinated by EVERYTHING. He isn't afraid to wander off on his own, although this does cause him a few minor problems but he manages them nicely and continues forward on his path of The Unknown. Greg is always positive - even in the face of unknowable or impossible looking odds. But he is young and still learning his way. He never worries about expressing himself, he just does it - because he believes he can do anything he sets his mind too. *I am going to be working with this deck for awhile - so a lot of the stuff I am using comes from the show, Over the Garden Wall. Including quirky sayings like, That's a Rock Fact LOL Do yourself a huge favor and watch the show, free, online - they are short episodes and perfect for Fall!

Our Last Card of October and a good way to start November! ( I love his happy cat) The Fool - Being open and spontaneous while following your desires freely. You have that freedom and limitlessness and the absolute faith in the kindness of the divine. Trust that things will all work out the way they are supposed to and have fun! Fool aka Court Jester - was historically an entertainer during the medieval era who was a member of the household of a nobleman and employed to entertain him and his guests. They were very entertaining and could pretty much say things that no one else dared to and had the freedom to get away with it. Daily Mindfulness
Seven of Cups - Decisions decisions. What to choose? Sometimes we have limited choices and sometimes we have too many. We need to narrow down the correct choices by choosing with the heart not the mind. Cups are emotion based! Think of all the opportunities and then use your intuition to narrow them down. Trust yourself! Nessie - is a creature said to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. There have been many sightings and photos of this elusive creature but no solid proof. Some of the hoaxes are fun to look at though. Daily Mindfulness
Today be open to the sensual facets of life. Show compassion and love to all things and revel in this thing called life. The challenge is to keep your heart open so that you can connect meaningfully to others, don't close yourself off, you never know what you might miss if you do. The Empress - the Love Goddess - all facets of love - she loves the sensual textures of life and has a great compassion for all things. She rules over nature with ease and comfort and nurtures passion, friendships and romance. She brings abundance effortlessly. Kali - a Hindu Goddess - destroyer of evil forces and worshipped by devotional movements and tantric sects variously as the Divine Mother and Divine Protector. Daily Mindfulness
Always look to evolve and transform yourself as you learn and try new things on your path. And if you start feeling a tad on the cranky side, play a bit o' music and let those negative energies slip away. Judgement - The "looking back over my life and let's see what can be improved" card. We should always be evolving and moving forward on our paths, awakening and transforming ourselves. Decide what works and let go of what doesn't as we move along the way. Cerberus - the Hell Hound that guards the gates to the Underworld so no one escapes. He also has 3 heads. Hagrid had one named Fluffy that kept watch over the entrance to the Sorcerer's Stone. But all you had to do was play him a bit o' music and he fell asleep. Daily Mindfulness
Time to get the rational brain into high gear today! Ace of Swords -This is the Universe saying YES today. Clear communication is key - use your mind to solve any problems that arise - try to use impartial clarity and rationality today. Quezalcoatl - an Aztec sky and creator god often referred to as The Feathered Serpent . He was also the patron god of the Aztec priesthood, of learning and knowledge. Quezalcóatl became the god of the morning and evening star, and his temple was the centre of ceremonial life in Tula. Also a Wind God of learning, writing and books. Daily Mindfulness
King of Wands - Fiery wands and the focus of the Kings...A great leader with strength and nobility. Confident and controlled with their emotions and has mastered his passions. Willing to take chances and leads the way if no one else steps in. How can I guide myself to channel my passions and have the most productive emotions? Anubis: God of embalming and watching over the dead. He ushered souls into the afterlife and attended the weighing of the heart - to see what happened to the soul. Protector of graves and cemeteries. Make sure your heart is light. Control yourself and be a strong and focused person - so your soul is lighter than the feather. Daily Mindfulness
Ace of Pentacles - A great start for new opportunities and manifesting the things you want. There is potential for financial gain here as well as stability and security. What do you need to manifest to bring more security into your life? Mandragora - aka mandrake, a member of the nightshade plant family, mandrake contains hallucinogenic and narcotic alkaloids. If you are not a muggle, then you probably also want to have earmuffs on before you re-pot one, they scream like the dickens and tend to be very lethal. If ingested the alkaloids in the root could induce excitation and hallucinations, as well as sleepiness—and sometimes, comas or death. Add 10 points to Gryffindor if you read that in Hermione's voice! Daily Mindfulness
The World: The final card in the Major Arcana - wholeness, a fabulous conclusion, endings and beginnings. Dream big and aim to make it happen. You have done some hard work but you made it! Enjoy the prize. Ouroboros - I actually have a tattoo of one on my shoulder blade. Endings and beginnings - my end is also my beginning. Nothing ever ends, it just restarts. There is a great hope in that - knowing you continue on, but in different ways. The ouroboros on the card is shaped like a lemniscate, which is on several of the Major cards. Infinity. Usually one of the stabby sword cards isn't one to insight insane laughter.... Seven of Swords - This card kind of tells us that there may be many sides to one story. What something looks like may not be what it really is. A trickster-ish energy that uses quick thinking and strategizing. Using your wit you can get what you want if you ask for it. So what do you want and who do you ask to gain it? Create a strategy and turn on the charm Cannibal - Yeah, ok, I had trouble NOT LAUGHING at the sheep on this card. But our Cannibal does illustrate the whole 7 of swords ideal there. He wants brains. He stomps around the pasture with his insane brain eating sheep and he gets what he wants. I am not sure if he is using charm so much as just taking and eating on the run, but he is getting what he wants. Use your charm and your quick thinking today and if you find yourself wandering in a pasture full of crazy sheep... RUN - you don't need that kind of negativity and or brain eating, in your life. |
