I figured a new month is a great time to start the Fool's Journey - no matter how well you think you know the cards, there is ALWAYS something new to learn. I will be using the Vice Versa Tarot which is based on the RWS decks and has the added appeal of a different side to add to the meanings. 

With this deck the original side is called This Side and the added side is called That Side. There is no good side or bad side or right side and reverse side. It simply another aspect of the card.

To start the journey is to start with the 0 - The Fool which will symbolize our self, setting out on a new adventure. We start as the Fool and move our way through the Major Arcana cards, learning more about ourselves and how we follow our path and our purpose.

This Side:  We have a blind young man standing on the edge of a precipice at sunset. His attitude is serene because his inner sight is telling him all is well. He seems to be coming from a desert type area, dry and mountainous and yet he has made it this far alone. He is bold and trusts the inherent goodness of  the world to keep him safe.  

In a reading: The Fool symbolizes the leap of faith. Not always doing what others might consider rational or logical. The leap is what matters most, that start of something. There are many experiences to be had and the Fool follows them in a most serendipitous way.  Everything in his path adds to his wisdom. Be bold and trust yourself and the Universe to keep you safe as you start your adventure.

That Side: The Fool is leaving a barren land for a land green and welcoming. The journey looks easier once he gets down from the high cliff top. Stars shine down on him showing us that he isn't alone at all. His dog, faithful companion is with him, watching over him.

In a reading: Something good is coming and where you are heading is better than where you are. Trust yourself, your instincts, that gut feeling, intuition and let them guide you. Keep an eye out for signs and synchronicities that will help you along the way. Even the smallest of incidents can change your path in the best of ways if we are only paying attention to what goes on around us.

I LOVE Full Moon energy - even if it keeps me awake at night. And the Synchronicity of drawing this card on the Full Moon is awesome... and it is a gorgeous card too.

Trust your intuition even if it leads you to places that don't feel logical, your hunches are right. Dont second guess yourself!!


The language of intuition is a symbolic one. It comes with hunches, gut feelings, that tingling of the senses. Follow those signs!! Once you open yourself up to seeing the coincidences and synchronicities THEY ARE EVERYWHERE

The Vice Versa Tarot Deck

I spent literally all of yesterday studying this deck and I love it. The cards are based on the RWS images but they add so much more to them. One side shows the usual scene but when you flip it over it shows a second scene, not a dark or reverse side, just a different aspect of the original scene.

I quite like the art, which is well balanced with symbols and colors and people. Adding the flip side really does open up readings and gives me a lot more to look at and think about. Another thing I love is that the Major cards actually show symbols and items from other cards that come before them or sit above/below them when they are set into 3 rows of 7 cards. (see below and please ignore my desk mess, I was too excited to tidy up)

The Court cards are slightly different in that instead of showing 2 sides or aspects, it shows the Outer Self and Inner Self, again not reversals or dark and light, just a different aspect which I absolutely love.

I have been thinking about how awesome it would be for someone to create a virtual reality type of app for the Tarot deck, one that you could actually STEP INTO and walk around in, explore the various bits of the cards, and while this deck isn't in VR, it does give that feeling of seeing more that is there.

There was another deck, similar to this one, The After Tarot Kit, which shows action that may have happened AFTER the front side image, but that one didn't feel as "at home," as this one did. I will probably still get that one since *HELLO, CARD COLLECTOR* but I am already loving how the Vice Versa Deck feels in my hands.

Well.  First glance and this just looks... sad.

I was feeling off yesterday, I can usually tell when my energy is off because everything attached to it just doesn't work right. I love how I can see that and understand why it feels off, but then I have to work on finding why it is OFF.

So, I was thinking about that when I pulled the Sad Embrace.  I really didn't want to see anything sad today.  You may be entering into a period where loss is a theme. Perhaps you’re having to let go of a long-cherished dream. If so, take heart, for this ending may have been for your highest good. A better and more powerful dream will be realized in your life if you can accept the loss. Growth is always assured. Whatever the loss—however great it is—let go, and experience your feelings so that you may soon see what beauty lies ahead.

Well, then. I needed some back up on that one, so I pulled another card and got Magic Stream. Which just looks so lovely, doesn't it?
Every experience you have seems to have its own life story however, there is danger in seeing events as separate from one another, since in fact they are all part of a continuity and a greater evolution.
Your experiences filter through the whole world, one leading into another, inform- ing and influencing still more. Inspiration, invention, and revelations rarely come to just one person. The collective awareness is a shared storehouse of potential. When you remember you’re part of the fluid continuity of life, you become a channel for great inspiration. Allow the magic to flow through you and carry your dreams into reality. Your success will benefit many.

I LOVE that reminder. And it goes with the book I am reading, Sidewalk Oracles too. I also tend to pull one Tarot card along with the Oracle as they have a knack of illuminating the lessons. So, I pulled.... the 8 of freeking swords. (not going to lie, I first drew the 10 of swords and just wasn't having it! I tried again and got the 8, OK, YES I HEAR YOU UNIVERSE)

Back to that overall sad feeling I got up at the start.

Being unsure, lack of direction, doubting myself, feeling trapped and limited.

Yes and yes.  I am pretty sure my ego was getting in the way yesterday, not by much, I am pretty good at keeping that at bay, but it did peep it's head up yesterday.  I am thinking THAT is what I need to say goodbye too. But I am open to looking for more that needs to be gone.  I also need to remember that we all float in the same stream and there is so much beauty there to choose from. I don't need EGO around when I can dive into that lovely storehouse of everything.  

And the 8 of swords reminds me of that as well. When I let go of myself EGO, and trust that Universal Stream, I won't feel that doubt and limitation.

So, maybe this draw wasn't as sad as I first thought and I probably could have kept that 10 of swords too, since it has the same overall idea. And you cannot fool the Universe by drawing more cards, it will keep giving you the cards you need, even if you don't like it.
