Not a bad card for the year. I like it muchly and blogged about it under WWC here. I usually do a year spread but this year I'd like to stay more in the moment and not get too far ahead of myself, so I am only doing monthly spreads and this is January: Overall we have The Priestess which always bodes well.
While the Star bodes well for a nice start, there might be a tendency to skew towards over emotions and stabby thoughts. The Knight looks to be stabilizing or at least his horse does - he also looks more interested in the wheat than anythings else ;) I should probably keep myself out of my own head as that is what usually starts the stabby thought process. So, happy new year and let's get going on our Great Work!

Daily Mindfulness A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Starting the year with a complete walk through Thoth - Join me as well delve! The Fool The Fool holds every trump card within - they all issue forth this 0 card. He creates everything from nothing - The Fool is the nothing we refer to when we say Nothing Created God, Nothing is beyond God. Nothing is Greater than God. Know Naught! All ways are lawful to innocence. Pure folly is the Key to Initiation. Silence breaks into Rapture. Be neither man nor woman, but both in one. Be silent, Babe in the Egg of Blue, that thou mayest grow to bear the Lance and Graal! Wander alone, and sing! In the King's palace his daughter awaits thee. (BOT) This Fool is surrounded by a whole lot of symbolism that should be meditated upon to see it and understand it better. He bursts off the card from 3 rings that symbolize the 3 veils of negativity (ain, ain soph and ain soph aur) that Qabalists say gave birth to the singularity of creation. His bag holds the entire universe in the form of planetary and zodiac coins. He is our start, the initiator, ready to start the Great Work. This can be a scary time but also an exhilarating one. This Fool has the energy and the confidence to boost us onward and upward. There is a very important process starting now and we must start this path with open heart and open mind. Daily Mindfulness Making Magick - Manifesting Your Dreams
Fire What a wonderful way to both end the year and start a new one. Fire. So much creative energy there. Transformative and full of power and passion, this element can kick start anything into being. Think of all the wand cards in a tarot deck - tie them all up and harness that energy to fuel your projects and opportunities. Just remember to stay focused - with all that fire flying about you don't want to lose control of it! *starting New Years Day we will be walking through the entire Thoth deck in order so stay tuned!* Daily Mindfulness Enchanted Spell Oracle
Healing This Princess of Healing is surrounded by herbs with therapeutic properties and is able to heal both physical and mental maladies. Her appearance speaks of time you need to pay attention to your health - are you eating well? Getting enough sleep? Or running yourself ragged with no self-care? Be kind to yourself right now - take the time to just be. It is never wrong to say no to something if you haven't the energy to do it. Take care of yourself first so you can be on point for helping others. *starting New Years Day we will be walking through the entire Thoth deck in order so stay tuned!* Daily Mindfulness Tarot of the Magical Forest
Magician I love this little levitating rabbit, named, Rabbit Swellhead! And he is ready to put on a show for all the animals in the forest. His cloth floats on the air with all the tools he needs to create what he wants. So now it is your time to be consciously aware of what you have and what you want. Don't be afraid of your power - believe in yourself, concentrate and be sure you know exactly what you are aiming for, and act now! *starting New Years Day we will be walking through the entire Thoth deck in order so stay tuned!* Daily Mindfulness Game of Thrones Tarot
Queen of Swords Cersei is a perfect sword queen. She is strong, smart and has sly insight into what is going on around her. She is also very single-minded in her path to the throne. She can give you great advice but it is up to you to figure out if it suits you or her, because she will ultimately help herself first. Right now is a time to stand strong, think rationally and carefully and see many perspectives before making a move. Daily Mindfulness Tarot of the Magical Forest
The Devil Here we have the Black Basilisk with his two doggie servants ready to do your bidding. The LWB says, "when there are dirty deeds to be done, all call upon him, but he always wants something in exchange." Be sure to ask yourself if it is worth the price. Don't lose yourself or your morals for a passing fancy. Daily Mindfulness Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle
Rowan - Protection This tree gets is oracle property because it is thought to protect and guide travelers and keep them from getting lost. Amulets made from the wood are thought to be particularly powerful and it is also thought of as a portal, that protects the liminal spaces between on area and another. This could also come as a warning to be aware and stay focused. Is there something in your life that needs extra attention? Or something new that needs more information? Caution is always good before leaping into the next thing and it's good to be protective of your space, time and self. Tarot of the Magical Forest
Strength Can I just say I LOVE the art on this card? It really encompasses what Strength is all about. The sweet little sheep is stronger than the lion because she has mastered her instincts and her fears. I like that the LWB references Samson's Riddle, "What is sweeter than honey? What is stronger than a lion?" Which is a crazy sort of non-riddle, you can Google, but maybe means, that we need to tame our inner lion, before we go on a unnecessary rampage. Patience The Priestess stands by the willow, calm and serene. Her sea serpent is a symbol of deep mortal emotions. When this card shows itself it is a time to wait. Patience helps us to see different perspectives, bigger pictures and to hold our tongues while we think. We may not always get what is happening or why it is happening to us, in the moment, but if we pause and look at all the viewpoints we can give ourselves time to look more deeply, to take a moment and see things from a different perspective. |
