Daily Mindfulness - The Housewives Tarot
8 of Pentacles Hard work, talent, craftsmanship and imagination all combine to make some really awesome plates - I mean, "stuff." When you put your talents, diligence and attention to detail, to work, you can create anything you want and even better? You discover that you love what you do and that the "hard," work, isn't really work at all but something you want to keep doing.

Finishing up things and enjoying the sort of clean slate that brings with it.
Then go go go go go - a new opportunity is heading this way and I will need to focus to stay in control. Queen of Cups again, she was in my afternoon yesterday and today I will finish up with her quiet contemplation, knowing all is well. Something New! I needed a change of pace so I am going to select a tarot deck by whatever one pulls at me and use that as the Daily Mindfulness card - something to help us keep focused during the day to come. So today:
Daily Mindfulness - The Ceccoli Tarot Deck Fool! What a fun way to start a new adventure. This Fool marches to the beat of his own drum and he follows his heart to whatever calls him the strongest. Card 0 - so many new choices and opportunities await us. This card calls for spontaneity and that can be scary for people - the best way I have found to work with this Fool energy is to be always prepared for anything that comes up, so that when the opportunity calls us, we are ready to go! Today is good - I like this draw - a time of playing like a kid to get the creativity going. And a reminder to use that inner strength to remind yourself that you have what it takes to do anything you set your mind to. Ending the day on a strong intellectual note, which is apt since I am studying some esoteric tarot-y things in the evening.
Instead of doing my usual one card draw for focus, I decided to try this instead.
3 cards Morning/Afternoon/Evening I think it gives a bit of variety and has been pretty spot on lately. This morning was a time to let go of things that were no longer beneficial and also remembering that there is more waiting. Always more waiting. The noon hours, spent quietly, thinking, inner wisdom and compassion. This evening will be for kicking back with my proverbial dragon to enjoy the hard work of the day. Ace of Disks (Thoth) This card just looks vegetative - full of the good Earthy things we need to start something growing. Crowley's motto is stamped right on this card, "to Mega Therion" Greek for The Great Beast. Gotta love Crowley. Ace of Earth (NEE) Foundations, possessions - our resources in the material world. This is a time to lay down a strong foundation for all that is to come. This is a great time to start on that thing you always wanted to do - opportunities and projects have all the energy they need to get going - stay in tune with those earthy energies as you feel the pulse of the universe flow through you! 5 of Cups (Thoth) I like that Crowley had Harris draw the cups in an inverted pentagram, which can be symbolic here, as matter over spirit. You'd think this card would be a lot more positive, Mars rules Scorpio and is quite happy about it and it sits in Geburah, sephira of Mars. I think the issue is that it is too comfortable and blasts too much emotion all at once. Now, there are no waters pouring from the blown away lotus blossoms and the sky has turned a very foreboding red color. Too much emotion has now left us dry and the sea is left to stagnate. Which leaves us very disappointed. 5 of Water (NEE) Sorrow, disillusion, pain - something didn't work out the way we hoped or expected and now we are left dealing with the hurt. Like expecting a gorgeous flowing river and finding it stagnant, cracked and lifeless. When we let our expectations get too high, whether reasonable or not, when things don't go the way we planned, we are often left hurt and confused. I guess it is natural to want to expect the best, but we don't always plan for the worst. Instead of walking down the Middle Path we went way high and now we are dumped way low. There really is no way out of this hurt but through it. Find support in friends and family and take it one step at a time. Slowly filling your cups back up again. 9 of Wands (Thoth) As Crowley says, "The Nine represents always the fullest development of the Force in its relation with the Forces above it." This is a confident strength, the Moon- Yesod, its natural seat on the tree of life, makes it very happy here. The main wand, which has a Sun and Moon, shows the balance right up the middle of the tree of life. Fiery wands gives us strength and determination as well as the discipline of our inner focus - to master our wills. 9 of Fire (NEE) The art depicts an amplification chamber which focuses and increases the energy of laser beams. Much like what happens in our heads when we align our energy, strength and spirit as well as our subconscious and conscious will. That kind of focus creates a powerful energy to harness giving us tremendous personal strength and will power. This is a steady and tremendous force that will keep us moving and grooving as well as keeping us focused on the tasks at hand. We all have a strong inner strength and the willpower to do whatever needs to be done as long as we have the self confidence to use it wisely and for the betterment of all involved. 6 of Cups (Thoth) The cups are just now starting to be filled up and the start of some pleasurable things are happening here. The sea is happy and gentle, the lotus plants are swaying happily and everything is balanced just so. Tiphareth brings this balance along with some sunshine and the Sun loves being here. This is pleasure in its highest sense - well being and harmony without any strain or effort. In other words, all you have to do is Just Be and let this happiness wash over you. 6 of Water (NEE) This is just a happy face card isn't it? Being happy - finding that inner child that was amazed at the simplest of things and just knowing everything was OK. Here we need to go with the flow and be content that what is happening right now is supposed to be happening right now. The pleasures happening now are ones of no effort and come with a sense of well being. Remember back to when you were a kid on summer vacation and it seemed the entire world was stretched out before you with all the time you needed? Yeah, like that. Interesting thing is, this happiness is always there but we often overlook it in our busyness. This is a reminder to open up to it and let it fill your cups! Letters From Thoth & The New Era Elements
Lust (Thoth) Courage, strength, the grand passion. This is about engaging with life deeply and intimately by living in the moment and connecting with it. Demeter/Astarte born by lions and Venus repressing volcanic fire - these are the Deities associated with Lust - with their powers to arouse, harness and direct animal natures. The message here is we need to reach a level of consciousness so high, that the only thing left is universal consciousness and our dissolution into this infinite moment. Strength (NEE) Ah, the wild, untamed animal instinct and our choice to unleash it or tame it. It's all so easy to snap at someone who is ticking you off but not so easy to stop for a moment and ask yourself if it's really something you want to get into. Sure, it feels great to let that anger fly - but most likely, afterwards, you just end up feeling bad, even if you had every right to be angry in the first place. Cause we're the masters of our own fate We're the captains of our own souls So there's no need for us to hesitate We're all alone, let's take control And I was like... lust for life, and a lust for life Keeps us alive, keeps us alive Perfect song (Iggy Pop) for this card. We are so full of stuff - and we tend to stuff away the wild untamed part of us because society says to show it is ... distasteful? As with all things, balance. Here, we can reach a point where our lower and higher selves are in perfect harmony - taking our shadow side and shaping it into something positive and powerful. One step closer to dissolution into the infinite. That is something to lust for. |
