Fool's Journey Day 4

With The Vice Versa deck the original side is called This Side and the added side is called That Side. There is no good side or bad side or right side and reverse side. It simply another aspect of the card.

The next step on our journey is 3 - The Empress

This side: The Empress, essential female force, the Great Mother - life in abundance. She wears the copper symbol of Venus, filled with womanly love. She is crowned with myrtle leaves, sacred to Aphrodite, symbol of good fortune, 12 stars and the planet Venus (the morning and evening star) Roses line the path to her throne, passion, love, beauty.

In a reading: The Empress brings abundance to all aspects of life. She is generous and wants to give you what you desire. Think about what it is you need and she will bless you with it. She is associate with love and marriage, children, but all fertility springs from her in every realm.

That side: The Empress brings life but all life must end at some point. Knowing this should not take away happiness now however, it should instead add to the gratitude for the present that we now inhabit. Behind the eagles shield there is a sparrows nest sheltered by asphodels, flowers the blossom in the land of death.

In a reading: There is still much abundance that the Empress will give you but it is tempered with a message: think toward the future, step back and look at the big picture as well as the little things. Happiness can last if you take it seriously. Be filled with gratitude and all happiness can enter.
