New Era Elements Tarot
So, I bought this deck awhile ago and now it's time to get to know it better. I've really slowed down my deck collecting to only the decks that really pull me in. This was one of them. While it is RWS friendly, I feel it is much more Thoth based and it carries the correspondences from that deck as well as the power from it. Which is the main reason I bought it - Thoth is all about the new Aeon of Horus - an updated Aeon from the RWS - and this deck is also aimed at a new era and the images are often stark and depressing but filled with a reality that you can't get away from and shouldn't try... there are things to learn from them. So, here is my deck interview: 1: Tell me about yourself: 8 of Earth - Circumspection Clarity/organization and structure. Establishing harmony with surroundings through insight and conscious effort. Willing to wait for things to develop naturally - working with things not against them. 2: What are your strengths: Mother of Fire Earth of Fire - change and inner transformation, independence, dignity and empathy. This is a powerful and independent woman who knows her place in life - optimistic, inspiring, full of energy. She is most alive when surrounded by those she loves but if challenged or slighted, her fury is a force to be reckoned with. 3: What are your limits: 3 of Air - Grief Helplessness, disappointment, self-torture. Feeling the pain of having to overcome old attitudes or hurts - or having them taken from us. Painful truths to face. When we evade the pain by numbing ourselves we put ourselves in danger - we need to work through it. 4: What can you teach me: The Star Guiding star, renewal and hope, inspiration in dreams. This is a message of hope - at the darkest times of our lives this is a light to guide us home. We are also encouraged to let our own light shine the way to happiness and success. 5: How can we best work together: 3 of Water - Abundance Enjoyment, happiness - inner growth and creation of new life. Opening up to the fullness of life that surrounds us all the time. 6: Our potential together: 10 of Water - Repletion The ability to let go and enjoy life. Having enough. Completion. We have passed the point of culmination and are now letting that emotional experience sink in and enjoying the afterglow. Being ready to let go with gratitude. I look forward to working with this deck because I think it has a lot to teach me and I have a lot to learn from it.
