Letters From the Thoth Tarot
I love it when cards are so timely - for today's full moon:
The moonlight on the card illuminates a path through a lot of the things that can scare us, nightmares and the things that hide in shadow. Our job is to walk that path as bravely as we can. As Crowley says in the Book of Thoth, "It needs unconquerable courage to begin to tread this path." The path runs between twin figures of Anubis, guardian of the dead, and note that the scarab/water spider is carrying the sun on its back - letting us know that the long shadowy night will come to an end. Crowley also says something to maybe help us stay strong on this "Dark night of the soul," path, "How splendid is the Adventure!" (It's all about our attitude)
One of my favorite tarot cards, the Moon - illuminates the darkness and helps guide us through intuition and the collective unconscious. Things that are normally hidden in the daylight are now brought to light for us to see and examine and sometimes those things are shadowy and we might want to hide them away but we can't. We need to have the courage to work with them because they are a part of us and the whole Great Work, is to reconcile all our parts into one whole.
