Three of Swords
This one is never pleasant and the first thing I thought of when I saw it was LET GO OF THAT PAINFUL CRAP. Life is going to hurt sometimes, or be minorly annoying anyway and while we need to honor that hurt at times, we also need to learn from it then let it go. Holding on to anger and heavy emotions (bad memories) keeps us from healing and also keeps us from moving forward.
Nine of Wands
This is where we find intellectual and emotional harmony. The Sun/Moon - Conscious/Unconscious gives us the strength to see everything in balance so we can chart our way forward.
The card is called Strength because it sits in Yesod on the Tree of Life. Yesod is the sphere of the Moon and its also the Foundation - the seat of the great crystallization of Energy.
This strength relies on its ability to change constantly. "Defense, to be effective, must be mobile." (BOT)
So together, this is a time of victory (The Nine), preceded by apprehension and fear (The Three). This is when we might have to dig deep and stay strong - trust in yourself and know you have what it takes to get through anything. Be willing to adapt, improvise and overcome whatever heads your way and stay balanced and centered. Never doubt yourself.
