Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Seven of Cups This card is just... gross. Crowley didn't like it much either saying, "This is one of the worst ideas that one can have; its mode is poison, its goal madness. It represents the delusion of DT's and drug addiction; ... the sinking into the mire of false pleasure." The Tree of Life is a great example for why this card is so debauched! Venus is in Scorpio and is not well dignified there. She is sitting in Netzach which makes her happy... too happy, so happy it's making her a wee drunk. Too much of a good thing is sitting low on the Tree and isn't balanced at all. Sticking with the drinking metaphors, after one too many, you just end up in the gutter. This is a time of filtering out what is important and what isn't. Reality or delusion? Let the unnecessary drain away. VII of Elixirs I love all the little details on the bottles of this card! Which remind us that this 7 is full of fantasy and dreams. Those are not bad things, but if we get lost in them or can't decide which to choose, we just get overwhelmed and lost in the chaos. When that happens, try to balance the confused emotions with some logic and cut through the distortions. Together: Both are a strong reminder to stay grounded in reality while you ponder your choices. Dreams and fantasy can be a great jumping off point into a new creative venture, but don't get lost there.
