Daily Mindfulness Thoth Deck
Ten of Swords Well, this is just one of those stabby cards that really has no positive spin. Sol is in Mercury-ruled Gemini here and that identifies with the mind/intellect - and in this card, is in the process of being destroyed. As Crowley puts it, "It is the ruin of the Intellect and even of all mental and moral qualities." Yeah, not cheery! I like how the general meaning for this one is, "almost a worse symbol than the Nine of Swords. Warring forces, complete disruption and failure. Ruin of plans and projects." LOL Almost worse... But remember, the 10's are the end of a cycle and they regenerate back into the Aces, which is a hopeful thing to keep in mind! Here's the thing. The ruin of the mind isn't always a bad thing. We tend to think ourselves into a negative tail spin when life gets chaotic and it's hard to get out of that mindset. The things we think NOW, affect what happens in the future and if we are all stabby cranky pants, then that is what follows us forward. We create our futures and we need to get out of the habit of negative thinking even if life is going really pear shaped. Create the world you want and the best way to do that is by staying in a positive mindset with different perspectives and views. It isn't always easy, finding a way to spin things in a better light, but with practice, it becomes easier.
