The Hermit
This card holds so much alchemical and symbolic goodness that it needs a book on its own but I will try to sum up - The point of all this alchemy is The Great Work and the Climax of the Descent into Matter. There are 3 key players that create this mode of fulfillment for The Great Work and they are Earth, Mercury and the Sun. These players have their first meeting here in the Hermit.  He represents the sign of Virgo, mutable sign of Earth. Virgo is ruled by Mercury and Mercury is exalted in Virgo.  The Hermit himself carries the lamp of the Sun - and uses it to give his light to the world.

​Illumination from within. This is our time to go within ourselves and learn the inner mysteries. There is a point where we can no longer learn from outside influences and we instead need to follow our own inner paths. This is where we meditate and dream and find our centers.  This is where we talk with our higher selves and find our place in the Universe.
