Here comes a time of pattern breaking - we need to consciously accept what isn't working (and what is) and break the negative patterns that restrict us. Ego isn't going to like this - that's the point LOL

The Hanged Man
Even with Thoth, I never really connected with this card - until recently.  Things work that way though, we don't "get," them until we are ready to learn the lessons they bring us.  This is a huge "turning your life around," card.  Places where we are stuck, or in a rut, paths we take, simply because it is a habit, show up here and we finally see them for what they are. And we also see they have become intolerable.

So, what do we do now that we know of these things? We have a choice!  We can hang here, stagnant and stuck - or we can use this energy to take a new path.  Hanging for awhile is good - it gives us the chance to see and make changes - but choosing to stay stuck isn't in our best interests. Once we see what needs to be done, make the conscious choice to change and move forward.

Crowley tells us that this Hanged Man symbolizes the descent of the light into the darkness in order to redeem it.  A massive sacrifice that will create/sustain/destroy the Universe. This is the annihilation of the self in the Beloved - a devotional ecstasy that dissolves all sense of separateness.  This Hanged Man still represents the descent of light into darkness but not to redeem it as such. Redemption here is the duty of the enlightened to bring that enlightenment to the unenlightened.
