Crowley tells us that this Hanged Man symbolizes the descent of the light into the darkness in order to redeem it.  A massive sacrifice that will create/sustain/destroy the Universe.  This is a time of literally turning your life around - if we have been stuck somewhere, we need to find a new perspective on things.  If we insist on staying stuck - we are going to get nowhere until we stop, recognize that what we are doing, or not doing, isn't working and find a new way of looking at things.

The Crows show us that we may be stuck, but instead of fighting it, let the bonds become an anchor - and in the stillness, let yourself fly free. From a new vantage point you can see things you might have missed before.   Your ego may not like it but we need to overcome the Ego to move forward on our path.
