Not the most pleasant card but a necessary one for us to work sometimes.
Ten of Swords
The stabbiest of the stabby cards. I also love what Lady Harris wrote to Crowley about this one, "I have done the 10 of swords and promptly Russia takes up arms."
This card is the complete identification with the mind/intellect, and in this ten, is in the process of being destroyed. As Crowley says, "It is the ruin of the Intellect, and even of all mental and moral qualities."
The issues we started dealing with in the 9 are now coming to their conclusions. The tens of the suits are the ends of whatever processes we are working with and also for a restart, to return to its origin in the ace to begin again. But this time we have more information, we have learned more about ourselves and what we can do and we need to carry this forward with us as we start again.
Rebirth, loss, pain, end of a cycle - these are all powerful and transformative events - they just seem a lot worse in the swords suits because of their airy, cold intellectual nature.
