This is a common annual herb often called a Starflower because of it's pointy blossom. It has a culinary and medicinal history as well as being used to make gin, candied, or made into a syrup to add to cocktails. Apparently, Celtic warriors drank wine flavored with this plant to give them courage in in battle and Roman soldiers ate the flowers before they went off to fight. This plant is said to lift the spirits and has courage inducing properties, giving it the oracle of Courage.
Blossoms can be tucked into a pocket for a good luck charm and drinking a tea flavored with the leaves can help relieve stress (although please do your research before consuming) It is also said to increase psychic powers and help depression as well. It reminds me of the Courage/Strength card in the Osho Zen Tarot deck. It gives us the seeds of standing strong in our power and helping us be brave as we go further on our life journey.
