Butterfly Medicine is that of the air - which makes it of the mind and to know that mind and change it. It is the power of Transformation. To use Butterfly medicine, you need to observe yourself on the Wheel of Life. Butterfly shows us that we are always on a never-ending wheel of transforming the self. Which stage are you at during any given time?
Egg stage: The first thought of something Larva stage: Decision time Cocoon stage: Developing the idea to make it real Birth stage: Sharing the completed idea or thing When you figure out where you are in the cycle you can then see what you need to do next to continue onward. Using air/mental powers of Butterfly medicine will give you clarity to help you organize whatever you wish to do. When Butterfly arrives it is telling you it is time for transformation - so take courage, use your wings and fly!

This noble animal gives us the medicine of Loyalty. If you carry Dog Medicine you are usually in service to others or humanity. Canines are generally service-oriented animals with a devotion and loyalty to their owners.
People with the dog totem have a great spirit and an enormous capacity to love and it takes a lot to break their spirit. People with this spirit animal will have a deep understanding and empathy of human shortcomings and have the compassion for unconditional acceptance and love. Dog medicine embodies the loving kindness of the best friend and protector - Dog honors its gifts and is loyal to the trust placed in its care. Things to think about if Dog has come to you: Let go of self judgement and criticism - you need unconditional acceptance and love for yourself! Have you been loyal to your goals? Have you been honoring your personal truth? - Become like Dog - your own best friend. Lizard Medicine is dreaming. It is the shadow side, where you review your dreams before deciding what to manifest into reality. Dreaming helps you see the shadows where rest your hopes and fears and the things you might be resisting. But it is always there following you.
If Lizard shows himself it is time to see what is following you. Is it your fears? You future? Or dreams that need to be manifest? Lizard is telling you to pay attention to your dreams and the symbols you are given. Write them down and record everything you remember and pay attention to recurring dreams or symbols - something is trying to get your attention. Lizard hears what is not yet spoken and sees what isn't yet manifest. But this magic can wear him down. This card can also be telling you to take some down time and renew yourself - don't get overstretched and lose yourself! Raven Medicine is Magic and it is sacred in medicine ways to honor Raven as the bringer of Magic. This is a powerful Medicine that gives you the courage to enter into the void, the home of all that is not yet in form. This void is called the Great Mystery and it existed before anything else came into being. The Great Spirit lives in the void and Raven is the Messenger of the void.
When Raven shows up for us it signals that we are about to have a change in consciousness. Going within our unconscious self we walk inside the Great Mystery. The Raven guides the magic of healing and changes in consciousness that will bring new states of being and wellness. He also carries the energy of ceremonial magic between the ceremony and the destination. In any healing circle, Raven is there. When magic surrounds you, don't fight it or be afraid, this is a power of the unknown and it means something special is about to happen. You need to be aware of any synchronicities happening around you and use them to learn and grow. This is also a time to speak with the ancestors if you need help, or perhaps they are trying to call you. Raven can carry your messages. This magic comes from the darkness of the unknown, unconscious. Find it, bring it to the light. That is true magic. I decided to use a simple 3 card spread - Theme/Focus/Growth and used both a RWS deck and my Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle and they both went really well together. For my Theme this month I have both Burdock which is Tenacity and The Hermit. Burdock can thrive in the most difficult of terrain and clings almost anywhere. There are times in life when we need to hold on and persist and persevere - It will not always be easy but these will bring the best rewards - take them one step at a time. Adding the Hermit, I look within to bring the light of knowledge to myself and others. Inner guidance will lead me to enlightenment and wisdom. For Focus I have Golden Poppy which is Dream and Death Golden Poppy has a narcotic effect, pain relief and altered states of consciousness. Like the Moon card, it reflects dreams, intuition and the subconscious. Day dreaming and fantasies can be the gate way into attaining goals but keep a balance between imagination and staying rooted in reality. Adding Death we have transformation and change from within. Change is life and what no longer serves needs to be cut. Nothing is ever destroyed, but transformed. Making space for better things. Growth comes with Wormwood which is Caution and 5 of Swords Wormwood can repel pests and ward off ailments but too much is toxic. Caution can save lives and get you out of sticky situations. Look before you leap, examine areas that need more investigation. 5 of Swords says take stock of where you are. Find creative solutions and invest in better ways of dealing with issues. Refine approach and choose battles wisely. Don't just waste time spinning your wheels. Wolf Medicine Wolf is a teacher, loyal family and tribe. Wolf takes care of the well being of his pack and is reliable and fearless without being dominating or judgemental. Wolf finds new ideas and then teaches them to his tribe. He is also loyal, mates for life and has a huge sense of family. These are also qualities of humans - if you are drawn to Wolf Medicine, you may be able to share your own personal medicine with others. Watch you intuitive side for answers or teachings. Wolf sense are very sharp and the Moon is its power ally. The unconscious holds much knowledge and when the Wolf howls at the moon he is connecting with new ideas that ride just below the surface. Wolf medicine wakes the teacher within all of us and asks us to come forward and share with all of our relations to aid in understanding the Great Mystery. As your inner wolf comes forward you may feel like writing, teaching and sharing information on how others can understand their parts in this path of life. In sharing great truths we all attain new levels of experience. Wolf says look for teachings no matter where you are for the lessons are everywhere. |
