The Wheel Ever turning, the wheel is all about change, cycles and opportunities. Hermanùbis (spirit of Good)- goes up while Typhon (Spirit of Evil) goes down and about to fall off. A sphinx sits atop the whole thing - remaining in perfect balance as if the Wheel has no power over him. He symbolizes the power of the Gods to give the Humans destinies - depending on their actions. Everything here is about balance and control. It means being prepared for anything that comes and knowing how to stay open to the energy flowing around us. The best place for us Humans to be on the Wheel is in the center - so keep your own Will balanced and centered. Daily Mindfulness
The Hermit This time is all about going inward and the experience we acquire is from learning to listen to our own inner Sage. Wisdom, prudence, research - we gain strength by learning experiences and integrating them into our knowledge database. I like what this says, "It teaches one also to be discreet and silent in all critical circumstances." Another type of going within, learning to NOT speak or react without first thinking about it. The Hermit is our guide to self knowledge and self mastery. Daily Mindfulness
Justice This is all about balance and opposites. Reestablishing order and balance is vital to keep us moving forward on our path. All of our actions have reactions and consequences and we should always try to be aware of what those things could do, to us and to others. We need to constantly assess where we are and what we are doing to see if we are still moving forward on the correct path. This keeps us open to learning new things and expanding into territory we might not have known existed. Daily Mindfulness
The Chariot Victory - by breaking down the obstacles in his way he will defeat anything and face the future armed with the knowledge that he can do whatever it takes to get things done. Daring and triumphant he knows success and honor are his. By cultivating a strong Will we are standing on a solid base that can gives us the support we need as well as sovereignty of the mind. When you have this kind of Willpower you are able to focus on what needs to be done and to take this fast moving energy and harness it wisely - helping us move forward on our path. Daily Mindfulness
The Lovers Choices choices! And this one is a test - how to choose between conscience and passion? You stand in the middle between Vice and Virtue. Genius above is pointing his arrow at Vice as a warning, take the easy road and things might not go so well for you. The LWB says, "indecision is more fatal than the wrong choice." We can become frozen with indecision and then nothing gets done and we can miss out on a lot of opportunities. This is where our strong Will/power, that we have been cultivating, comes in handy. When the time to decide comes we must show no hesitation. Our Will is strong and we can overcome any obstacles. Trust yourself. Daily Mindfulness
The Hierophant This Lord of the Sacred Mysteries is all about inner work and concentration. It is a time to be still and look within so you can hear the voice of the heavens. This voice is hear to give guidance and inspiration as well as counsel. The two columns he sits between stand for the Law and the Freedom of our will-power. His hand makes the sign of meditation and silence. As with the cards previous - this one also requires you to harness your Will - without that you won't have the discipline to stay the course and concentrate on the things you need to. It can be hard going within, there might be things we don't want to face but this is important work and can result in powerful transformations. Daily Mindfulness
The Emperor This card is all about standing (or sitting with a very starched skirt) strong and using your Will. He sits on a solid cube, stable and confident in his authority. His scepter is a sign of the moral power acquired through sacred studies. He points down with his left hand indicating his mastery over matter. This is a time to hone your will-power - this is the basis of the knowledge of Truth and Justice. With that you will have a stability that will enable you to wield your creativity with authority and integrity. Daily Mindfulness
The Empress This is Isis and she symbolizes Nature, fecundity, fertility, creation and intelligence. It looks like she is sitting on a cube covered with eyes – perhaps indicating visions of the famous seer, Hermes, or she has all seeing "mother" eyes. She is crowned with twelve stars representing the twelve months, and the Sun, a fiery halo of creative intelligence. In one hand she holds a scepter, her rule over the world; her other hand holds an eagle, signifying the flight of the human soul returning to its initial principle: God. This is the time to create your world and to do so with love, intelligence, patience and kindness. Channel your inner Goddess today. Daily Mindfulness
The High Priestess Here we sit before the Temple of Isis - mysteries will be revealed but only in solitude and meditation. It can be hard to leave the physical world behind to go alone, go within. But this is where we need to sharpen our Will in study so that we can hear the wisdom being given to us. Pay attention to your dreams and follow your intuition during this time of inner study. |
