Daily Mindfulness
The World The circle of flowers above the girls head symbolizes the magic that encompasses everyone and everything in the World. In this card all the things we have been working on come together - everything is revealed to us. We have worked to gather and sustain our Will/power and have moved forward on our path, learning lessons and gaining knowledge and experience. Now we have success and self-sufficiency and we have also learned we can do anything we set our minds to doing.

I love this card! The art comes from the Egyptian Judgement of the Dead. Judgement A time of renewal as well as to judge how worthy we have been on our journey. The LWB says this is a moment when everything changes and where everything will no longer be important. Like, we see from our life experiences and from the big Tower moments, what is important to us and what we can let go of. We see our actions have consequences and our priorities change as we have moved forward on our path. Daily Mindfulness
The Sun The Sun is a happy card, even in this deck LOL I love what the LWB says, "The light illuminates those who are able to direct it and blinds those who abuse it." When we are in harmony with the light and life around us - when we can gather our Will and direct the energy things are balanced and centered and give us a peace and feelings of security. We work hard and often it feels like we are running in circles, so take this time to look up at the light of the Sun and feel the peace that is always there for us! Daily Mindfulness
The Moon On the road to the pyramids two dogs (good and evil) howl at the sky while a scorpion (vice) watches. The White Pyramid is the True Science - the Black Pyramid is Error. Basically, this Moon card is all about disappointment - a false sense of security - there are hidden dangers and you are kind of trapped. For me, I see the Moon on this card as being slowly covered by the clouds - so unlike a more "happy," moon card, this one keeps things hidden from you. Or you are being kept ignorant of a situation either by others, or you are maybe fooling yourself? For this one, I would still say to pay attention to the dreams you have - but be very aware of how you interpret them - don't fool yourself or let things cloud your judgment - and know this is a temporary situation. Daily Mindfulness
The Star Hope! It springs from nothing to light our way and it uplifts our gaze. Faith and grace comes to us now. From the girls cups flow Kindness and Charity to help alleviate any suffering. I also like that this Star has a bigger meaning as well. Over the girl shines is an eight-pointed star, symbolic of the Universe and the divine Trinity. In the center are two pyramids, a white one and a green one that is upside-down that symbolizes great “That which is above is like that which is below.” The stars symbolize the seven planets of their astrology. So the Star brings us hope and peace but also tells us that if you free yourself from your lower passions (base nature?) and study the mysteries of the true science (higher conscious?), you will be given the key to the mysteries of life and I think that also brings us hope for the future. The Tower Lightning blasted this card tends to make us all twitch a bit when it shows up. In this deck, it symbolizes the death of hope, ruin of our constructions and a lack of balance. It also points out that these things are caused by our arrogance and presumption. It also says "prison," and that is the meaning I like to go with when I see this card. Something is keeping us in a prison of our own building. Whether it is our own arrogance or a lack of balance, something needs to be blasted away and the Tower energy is perfect for that. Once the prison door is open, we are free to move forward -and if we had strayed - we are now back on our path again. Daily Mindfulness
The Devil Some sources say that is Typhon on the card but I think it is more of the Ammit stripe here. Either or both, this is a turbulent and chaotic card and these bits of chaos enfold both gods and the regular peoples. This spirit is rising from some destruction he probably caused, holding the torch of said destruction in one hand and a scepter of hatred in the other. The people he is stepping on symbolize those he has caught in his vices. Willpower, with it we can avoid these traps and chaoses and not get caught up in the division from others and from ourselves. Stay strong and stay the course on your path forward. Daily Mindfulness
Temperance From the basic LWB - It says, "water dripping drop by drop erodes even the hardest stone. Moderation, patience, care and adaptability. The usual Temperance is all about moderation and balance and while this is too, it is pointing more towards being patient, gathering our Willpower and to wear out all obstacles bit by bit - one step at a time. I think that is actually a great lesson here - I am not a patient person at the best of times - so a nice reminder to just let things be. They will get done eventually. Daily Mindfulness
Death Anubis (and Maat) ready to weigh our hearts to dictate the fate of what comes next. Balanced against a feather. Will we ascend or go around on the wheel again? If our merit is in the plus, or lighter column, a better life awaits us. Transformation is here - the destruction of some things and the rebirth of new things. Beginnings and endings. Death/endings are not always pleasant but they are necessary. We need to let go of things that no longer serve us so that new opportunities can arise in their places. Daily Mindfulness
Ok I never much liked the Hanged Man in the RWS pantheon and this one annoys me too LOL Plus, I have no insight from the creators so I am ad-libbing. The cow is nice though. The Hanged Man This deck really holds no punches in the severe category LOL Not even your cow is exempt! This Hanged Man is about expiation, penitence and sacrifice. But it is also about transition and illumination. The Egyptians would sacrifice things to their Gods in the hopes of enlightenment, good crops/health, expiation and a good trip through the afterlife. This card is about surrender - about giving all you can without expecting anything in return. Perhaps also it gives us insight/illumination about keeping an open heart and hoping for the best as we move forward. |
