Letters From Thoth & The New Era Elements
Six of Swords (Thoth) A shiny balance of our swords (thoughts) sits on top of a kind of fractured looking background. This symbolizes success after anxiety and trouble. Right now, after the chaos has cleared, we can see everything with clarity and clear-headedness. Six of Air (NEE) A card of sudden insights while we search for truth and objectivity. This card shows a satellite high above the planet as it gathers its data. This information becomes understandable because of the separation between the observer and the observed. With this sudden clarity we can indulge in our curiosity and seek to understand things that were confusing us before. Keep trying to find new perspectives so we can continue to learn and grow.

Letters From Thoth & The New Era Elements
The Aeon The trump of fire and spirit! In The Book of Thoth, Crowley says of this card, "Be every Act and Ace of Love and Worship. Be every Act the Fiat of God! Be every Act a Source of radiant Glory." If we follow these words, then our actions will be judged with a light feather, to stay with the Egyptian motif. All of our actions have a cause and effect on future actions. Judgment This is a time of looking closely at ourselves and be accountable for all of our actions. Whether we are looking at our past and collective actions or at a more recent issue, we need to look clearly and honestly at how we acted. If our behavior was above board then we have nothing to worry about. But if we acted contrary to our beliefs - we could have caused hurt and need to address this, constructively. A quote from the movie Gladiator fits here perfectly. "What we do in life echoes in eternity." Keeping that in mind we should always try to walk with honor. Remembering the lessons we have already integrated - knowing what worked and what didn't - we can trust ourselves to do the right things and be that source of radiant Glory. Prince of Disks A little bit Aries and a little bit Taurus - whammo - that is a fun combination! The Book of Thoth describes this card: ...great energy brought to bear upon the most solid of practical matters. He is competent, ingenious, thoughtful, cautious, trustworthy, imperturbable; he constantly seeks new uses for common things." The best description is from Lady Harris to Crowley, "He swells & swells & I can't get him in the picture with all the farm produce & bulls you suggest." This guy is in control and he knows it and cannot be bothered by impractical things that get in the way. Son of Earth Air of Earth, this is a steady and dependable energy. This is a time of concentration and perseverance as well as staying the course and getting things done. Pay attention to details and focus on the goal at hand. One step at a time will get you where you are going - make a plan and stick to it with this fabulous energy. Letters From Thoth & The New Era Elements
The Universe (Thoth) Crowley best described this card in The Book of Thoth, "there is a glyph of the creation of the Great Work in its highest sense, exactly as the Fool symbolizes its beginning. The Fool is the negative issuing into manifestation; the Universe is that manifestation, its purpose accomplished and ready to return." The major trumps in between these two cards represent the Great Work and the stages we need to travel through. The Universe (NEE) Completion and harmony - finding your place in life and being one with everything around you. This is the completion of the Great Work - you have been learning and reconciling and finding your path and now you are here - all the elements have worked together, keeping you balanced and on point with grace and ease - ready to transform into the next state. We have come a long way and are finally at the completion point - take some time to enjoy the hard work you put in and rest, renew - find your balance. Then get ready for the next cycle - there is always more to see! Letters From Thoth & The New Era Elements
Art (Thoth) So much alchemical goodness in this card - the alchemical trumps leading up to this card have given us the substance Vitriol - the universal solvent. But now that we have it, what do we do with it? Vitriol dissolves old life in order to create new life. As Crowley says, "But this is only crude symbol of the spiritual idea, which is the satisfaction of the desire of the incomplete elements of one kind to satisfy its formula by assimilation of its equal and opposite." Temperance (NEE) This is all about proportion and harmony - the alchemical transformation from flawed to perfect - reconciling opposites and finding the middle ground to walk. It is about finding equilibrium and not striving for the excesses of the modern world. Both cards show fire and water existing together in harmony and balance. This is the time to mix together our own personal vitriol - all the bits of us that we are learning about and piecing together, into a whole and harmonious self. The Great Work! 4 of Wands (Thoth) Balance and a fiery energy spin in this card. Venus in Aries, each spoke of this wheel has a dove of Venus and the Ram of Aries. As Crowley points out, "...indicates that one cannot establish one's work without tact and gentleness." This is the first solid and visible manifestation of the suit and brings order and the rule of the law to the Universe. 4 of Fire (NEE) A perfect picture of harmony and balance. The fire dancer needs to have complete mastery over both in order to keep her flames moving as she dances. When we reach a mental balance when we can find and rest in our center. This is a day of getting all the things done. Our minds are balanced and full of the clarity needed to see solutions without any indecisions - by taking care of any outstanding problems or issues, we can clear our slate and renew ourselves - then we can prepare for whatever comes next. 2 of Disks (Thoth) Harmony of Change - Crowley calls this card, "the picture of the complete manifested Universe, in respect of its dynamics." Like a cell first dividing, the 2 yin-yangs whirl in the center of the ouroboros' coils, all the elements represented and ready to create. 2 of Earth (NEE) Eternal cycles of change, flexibility and transmutation - this card has a tree with winter on one side and summer on the other. Nature knows just how to follow the seasons in a perfectly evolved flow. This is a reminder for us to be flexible as well - going with the flow and not getting stuck in rigid outlooks. Do not fear change! Don't get stuck and stagnate for fear of trying something unknown. Nature shows us that change is necessary to keep us growing and expanding. I have an ouroboros tattoo which has many meanings to me, one of the main ones is, "My end, is also my beginning." Game of Thrones Tarot - July Spread
This is actually a really good monthly spread - I have all of the elements - well no cups, but I have The Lovers so that fills it in nicely. This is about balance and commitments - taming my inner drama llama and not starting anything rashly. About letting go of fear and stepping forward into the future with no fear. Lovers (Thoth) This! - If you expect the fulfillment of your desires from others - you make yourself dependent on them and at the same time you prevent yourself from finding equal relationships. In other words, it is up TO US to find out what we want and open ourselves up to that emotion. There is a lot of alchemy here - the Union of the male and female - within ourselves first and foremost. Lovers (NEE) I really like what this card says aside from the usual meaning of finding love in a relationship with someone. It says Finding Balance Between The Male and Female Within Yourself. The card challenges us to find out where we are and what we want to be and then... with whom. This card is a great reminder that we need to love ourselves and truly accept who we are and how awesome we are. Only then can we open ourselves up to loving another in a balanced and harmonious way. |
