Five of Cups Yuck. This just looks like what it is... Disappointment in love, loss of friendship - loss in those things from which pleasure is expected. We thought we had one thing but come to find we have another. This might hurt a bit but it is better to learn it now instead of fooling ourselves. Let's also look at our expectations - usually these can be set too high and we end up disappointed when nothing works the way we wanted it to work. .. . That isn't to say we shouldn't have expectations - it's more that we need to stay grounded in reality and hope that things will work out for the best.

The Empress On the Tree of Life, The Empress is Daleth - door, and woman is the door to life as we are born. Her planet is Venus and she is the second alchemical trump card, salt. Crowley describes her as the inactive principal of Nature - Salt is matter which must be energized by Sulfur to maintain the equilibrium of the Universe. (sulfur is the Emperor/Aries, ruled by Mars and was the lover of Venus!) .. . The Empress holds a strong feminine power - the power to create and to love. This is a gentle and compassionate power but incredibly strong and enduring. For some reason it reminds of that saying that Moms are supposed to say to naughty kids, "I brought you into this world and I can take you out." And while that is a joke, it is that kind of power she wields. Embrace this creative energy with love and use it to renew and replenish. Daily Mindfulness
A day for joy and love and healing. Three of Cups Our cups overfloweth with sensuous pleasure and beauty here. This card combines the lessons of the Ace and the Two... The love we learned to give ourselves and to send out into the world with balance has now found its mark and is starting to bloom. .. . Small warning here though - The pomegranates. Recall the story of Persephone and how she got stuck living in the underworld half the year. Stay balanced so you don't tip over into greed or overabundance, that won't do anything for you. Daily Mindfulness
This never looks like a happy day card but in fact, it is necessary and not always terrible. The end of a cycle is the start of a new one and that can be a powerful transformation if we work WITH it and not against it. Ten of Swords The stabbiest of the stabby cards and it looks, unpleasant. But! The issues we started dealing with are now coming to their conclusions. The tens of the suits are the ends of whatever processes we are working with and also for a restart, to return to its origin in the ace to begin again. But this time we have more information, we have learned more about ourselves and what we can do and we need to carry this forward with us as we start again. .. . Rebirth, loss, pain, end of a cycle - these are all powerful and transformative events - they just seem a lot worse in the swords suits because of their airy, cold intellectual nature. Daily Mindfulness
I don't know about you guys but the Full Moon kicked my butt last night. So much energy that I couldn't ground it all - so I am glad to have this Queens energy to keep me going today. Also, yesterday we had the Knight of Cups (Fire of Water) today we have the opposite, Water of Fire. So we always need to be aware of staying balanced so we don't become unstable. Queen of Wands Water of Fire this Queen is adaptable, calm in her authority and has a fiery energy. She is generous and always willing to help, but she is also impatient when things get in her way. She is the Mom of this element but because of her opposite natures she can become reckless and moody. She is a strong woman who will put up with zero crap and will always speak her mind honestly, even if you don't want to hear it. With this kind of fiery, creative and passionate energy, you can get anything done! Daily Mindfulness
Knight of Cups This Knight is Fire of Water which gives us a nice cleansing rain or bubbling spring - as well as slow erosion and dissolving. Since he is the fire in the water, he is telling us it is time to work on balancing our opposites. .. . This Knight is a nice guy, likeable but not very deep. The water sort of blankets his fiery energy, so calling him "shallow water." Crowley says his name is Writ in Water. This is a time to balance your opposites - otherwise you can get a tad unstable. Daily Mindfulness
Fortune This card thus represents the Universe in its aspect as continual change of state - Crowley. .. . Change = stability. With that stability comes order. The Demiurge brings order to so-called creation. The Demiurge is the highest God below the Abyss - and thinks itself the creator or supreme deity because it is unaware of its own creation. Above the Abyss everything is reconciled - there is no need for the concepts of change or opposites or luck. It is when we are below the Abyss that those concepts appear. As we are still below the Abyss we will struggle with Fortune as we go around and around. The best place to do this is from the center. If we can stay balanced and not struggle against this wheel that constantly turns, we can find our own centers and not be crushed by change. Be open and prepared for anything and stay open to that energy flow - go with it and see what opportunities life brings you Daily Mindfulness
The perfect court to visit today. She cuts through all the confusion and chaos to help us see clearly and when we can see we can then act accordingly. Princess of Swords Earth of Air, this Princess looks like she is flying out of the earth into the sky, leaving her dust behind. Her character is stern and revengeful. She is firm and aggressive, with great practical wisdom and subtlety in material things. She is a warrior princess who is here to help us battle the Ruach. .. . Swords = Ruach (intellect) and it can be a good thing in that we rise above our lower animal natures. BUT! When we identify with the Ruach we separate from our higher parts, higher consciousness - those the Ruach can't comprehend and it wants us to stay with it. So this Princess helps us remember that the mind can be an enemy if we aren't aware of what it is up to. Daily Mindfulness
Right now this card just speaks to the events the world is seeing so perfectly. It's almost like she is saying, "I cannot look at your right now," or maybe she is looking down the road to when we can make this a better world for everyone. She is a loving hug right now but she is also a badass, no nonsense mother who is tired of the shit she sees and wants us to do so much better. Queen of Disks Water of Earth - lifegiving water for a dry Earth! In the Book of Thoth, Crowley says she is quietly passive but in its highest aspect. He also says, " She thus represents the ambition of matter to take part in the Great Work of Creation." .. . She is the Mother of this Element - stable emotionally and well grounded (water of earth) This is a strong and protective element as well as powerfully creative. She will create a loving and safe environment for when you need shelter from any storm Daily Mindfulness
This! Energy! Is so perfect right now. Challenges and hurdles and confusion and anger and hurt can all be tackled with this airy/fiery energy. Grab those reins! Prince of Wands Air of Fire, this is Crowley's idealized image of himself, his personal seal the Mark of the Beast, on his chest. His character is noble and generous. His courage is strong and endurance indefatigable. He is always fighting the odds and always wins in the long run. (BOT) .. . This is the energy you need when you have a lot of challenges to tackle or when you are feeling doubts about your abilities to deal with things. Stand strong and stay confident! |
