2018 starts my year with card 14 of the Tarot. Using the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, that is Temperance and using my new go to awesome deck, The Wildwood Tarot, the card is Balance. RWS: Temperance - finding middle ground, equilibrium, getting it together, composure and deliberation Wildwood: Balance (between humanity and nature) inner harmony, balance of powers, blending of inner world with higher conciousness. Finding my inner balance, confidence in my own strengths. Last year was dealing with change, death of the negative or things that no longer helped me move forward. This year, it is finding a balance in all I do. I tend to swing from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other and finding balance is something I really need to work on. So, this looks like an auspicious card for me! As the clock hit midnight last night and the world seemed to explode in fireworks that sounded like a war zone, I started thinking about New Years past. I had done some fun things before deciding to be an extreme introvert and hiding from everyone as much as possible. Disneyland was a lot of fun, if not incredibly crowded. So was Knott's and hanging out at the beach or with friends. But the one night that really sticks out to me was when I was in 7th grade. My family had recently gotten that sort of cable like box called SelecTV, where you can watch certain movies during the month, and one of the choices was 9 to 5. I remember being curled up on the sofa in my jammies, watching 9 to 5 at midnight, eating the dubious snack of Pringles and bologna slices and being incredibly happy to be doing so. I imagine if I tried that now, I'd also end up snacking on Zantac as well! It's funny what sticks in your memory! And because I am nosy, what are some of your favorite New Years memories, traditions, things you just love to do?
