![]() This is my photo of the day... I was driving (Shhhhh) by the Duoc Su Temple, in Garden Grove and shot this colorful blur of the New Year celebration. It was gorgeous and quite busy. I only got one more photo - today was a busy day. Driving by my favorite Cypress eatery which has been closed for renovations - I saw they reopen on the 4th of February. YAY! So down there is a drive by (shhh) of John's "reopening" sign. I'm tired now. It's been a great day but I'm ready for quiet time LOL

So, last night I decided to take a bunch of random photos a day, pick ONE to summarize the entire day and post it. At the end of the year, I'd publish the results... Right, easy enough. This morning I got out my camera, shot one photo and my screen went wonky and the camera did all sorts of interesting things before it finally shut off. I am hoping it's the battery. Anywho, that means my first photos of this project are via iPhone.... meh.
Which is why I chose the Cement Mixer Truck from Hades as my photo of the day. I got stuck in the kind of traffic that makes you want to abandon your car in the middle of the road and walk. The last twenty minutes of my drive I was stuck behind said Mixer. Although my day ended up awesome, as it always does when I am at work, I still picked the Cement Mixer LOL ![]() There is something so inspiring about a blank canvas just waiting to be filled with the stuff of your imagination. <---This blank canvas is for The Red Dot Auction at the Chuck Jones Center For Creativity. Support a great cause, buy a ticket or maybe even submit a piece for the auction. Both Tom and I are. Help keep creativity alive! ![]() I just finished Joyland by Stephen King. Just wow. Perhaps known best as the horror Schlockmeister, King does more then just "horror." He takes your heart on a ride, then he manages to break it and leave you both laughing and crying. Joyland reminds me a little of both Lisey's Story and Bag of Bones. They all have a gothicky horror feel but are based more on love, which can have horrors all of its own. I really liked this one. It was a whodunnit that kind of took me by surprise at the end. Just under 300 pages, it's a quick read that will make you happy you took the time to do so. This constant reader is very satisfied. ![]() I found this article and wanted to share it.... make this year a positive one. Refuse to listen to negative people! 14 Things Positive People Don't Do! I needed a temp gauge for Syd's tank... which they didn't have - of course. However, they did have the Marimo moss ball thingy which I had heard about so I said OK lets try it. So far Syd doesn't much care about it either way, but I think it's fun. Mostly because it's squishy. I am also easily amused. Also ran into Barnes and Noble and got a few books. Few, meaning 2. I was proud of myself for not over splurging LOL I bought Neil Gaiman's, Neverwhere, which is one of my favorites of his and I had lost my copy. Also found Stephen Kings, Joyland which I will be delving into tonight. (Can't talk, reading) ![]() I had a great holiday this past year and I received a lot of lovely presents but my favorite one was this pillow <--------- Sandy Novy took my duck painting, "The Landing," and made it into a soft squishy pillow. I was so surprised to see it and it just makes me smile. I thought I would make it my photo of the day! My ducks are famous now :D QOTD: Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. ~William A. Ward ![]() Some of these I knew of and some are just awesomely handy. I want to use the tennis ball just because he looks so happy :) Here is a link to 89 life hacks. use them well :) ![]() Many posts that is.... or as many as I can actually remember to sit down and write. I will try though. Today was a nice start to a new year. Watching the Twillight Zone Marathon with Tom. Watching the KFC commercials they ran constantly on the SyFy channel, making me want chicken. Tom going out to get the chicken for lunch this afternoon, and watching more TZ while finishing A Dance With Dragons by Ser Martin, who makes me want to throttle him with his cliffhanger endings. Game of Thrones is just awesomeness. Still loving my job. It was so perfectly made for me and I hope to continue fitting it as well for years to come.
