I admit, I have a *problem* or rather am challenged to NOT buy every awesome Tarot deck I see. Instead of struggling with it, I just buy them - saves on wasting time thinking LOL
Usually, I do not buy cutesy decks but this one was different. It is adorable, yet it is also very serious. Based closely on the Rider Waite Smith deck, it features a variety of foresty animals doing Taroty things. The colors are fantastic and the images work for me. Sometimes better than my more *serious* decks. I am really enjoying working with these cards and getting the feel for them. Tarot of the Magical Forest. Comes with the usual LWB explaining the background of the deck and gives the basic card meanings. I posted pictures of a few of my favorites and my card for the day today was Strength. A small fuzzy sheep, hugging a lion and it is a wonderful image for this card. So, if you are looking to add to your collection and want something different but incredibly well done, this deck is a winner! The only smallish downside, is they are very thin and bendy, which makes them both easier to shuffle and harder because I am afraid to bend them, but they still make me happy. I am slowly working on reviews of all my decks, which is taking awhile because I have so many of them, yet, never enough!

I decided to get some photography assignments done today and after a few random stress blips, I decided to go to Forest Lawn for some quiet time to reset my brain. Being creative in a mellow environment is one of the best ways for me to unwind. The mortuary has many spots tucked away for a person to sit and reflect on all matter of things and I was thankful for the quiet respite.
I think I got quite a few good photos and I need to sort them out and see how I did playing with aperture and shutter speeds etc. But here are some fun ones in the meantime. (The more serious, assignment-y ones to follow) Also, I never realized how many creepy statues live at Forest Lawn ~ especially those Weeping Angel looking cherubs LOL World Hippo Day today! <----- Just look at her! I believe every day should be hippo day, but that's just me. So, post nasal drip. My allergies are terrible lately and it feels like I am choking which makes sleep kind of difficult. Does anyone know what might be the most effective OTC medication to get rid of that nasty drippage? TEMPEST! Does anyone remember this arcade game from the 80's? It was the only game I was actually good at and could play it for hours on 1 quarter. It is now on Kickstarter and the temptation to back it is really really large LOL Replicade Mini Tempest. I may go for the $25 dollar backing and get the keychain version! Lupercalia, on February 15th, is much much more exciting! Who wouldn't want to watch guys getting slicked up with grease, milk and blood, then smacking them with a goat thong as they run by you. And many women hoping to get lucky in more ways than one, might just get pregnant if said, greasy milk stud, touched them on their way by! You can read more here, I once wrote a great essay about the ancient Roman holiday in a series I did on Ancient Rome, but cannot seem to find it. Wikipedia will have to do. I bought these from Cincy Shirts and I highly recommend them! I made my order last Friday evening and they had it shipped Monday morning and it arrived today! They also provided tracking and email updates! They have a Fiona X Mas sweater I am totally getting next LOL Driving home tonight was so traumatic that I lost my words. I just sort of whimpered a lot and thought about getting out of the car in the middle of traffic and walking. I mean, OK, it is Valentine's Day but is that the cause for EVERY STREET to be a parade of insanity? Even normally empty side streets were full of crazy people. Next time I get in the car I am going to be all twitchy, I just know it. By the way, that is an actual representation of me driving tonight. So, Happy Valentines Day if you celebrate it - Happy Lupercalia tomorrow, if you want to give the whole goat thong smacking a try and if you are looking to support a teeny little hippo named Fiona, get a shirt at Cincy Shirts - they make great gifts! I have had a busy morning so far. Very productive! I bought my domain name, so now I am Wide World of C! I had some issues with the SSL certificate after I upgraded, so can you please let me know if you get a warning that it is not secure? It appears to be fine now. I also downloaded Lightroom Classic and it's associated apps, and have a feeling my brain is going to be very mushy shortly. I haven't really used Photoshop in ages and this is looking just as indepth. I have a book, the book is heavy enough to use as a weapon, so I guess it has another use if my brain implodes later. Am discovering that Twitter is actually pretty awesome. I had signed up for an account ages and ages ago and found it totally useless, like a subpar FB. But now it is like FB on crack and I can add photos so I am kinda digging it. Also, very addicted to Instagram. So many nifty photos to look at! Links for my social media sites are at the top of the page. The Hermit was a very apt draw today. It has been a great day to withdraw and absorb all the things I have been learning and just look at that little Dormouse Hermit from my Alice in Wonderland Tarot Deck!!
Anyway, time to go absorb some Lightroom classic information! And if you do get that not secure notice, please let me know! Thanks! Osho Zen Tarot *Going With The Flow* Be relaxed. Passive and receptive but not dull. Trust that life will support you and let it take you where it wants you to go. Everything is happening as it should even if it feels otherwise. #tarotcardoftheday #oshozentarotcards#goingwiththeflow #tarot #osho Always good to start the day with a little mindfulness, which is what I am using my brand new Twitter account for. I am waiting for my water color brush set to arrive and noticed that I must have a favorite color scheme going on, that I was kind of unaware of. But now that I think about it, whenever I buy art supplies or what not, they always fall into the same 3 colors... *snort* I was actually going somewhere with that thought, but got sidetracked, SHINY, and my train of thought derailed. I guess I will *go with the flow* and let it go (gawd that was terrible)
I just have to admit I am terrible at daily blogging. I used to be a bad ass at it, back when there was Xanga and then Myspace. In trying to figure out why I am just not as good at it anymore, as I have about the same amount of time on my hands and I came to the conclusion that it was a lot of hard work! (Or I have just gotten lazier at making the effort)
I like the idea of doing something almost better than the actual doing of that something. I want to get from point A to point C and sorta skipping point B and just hoping it gets done somehow. *laughs* The thing is, once I get to doing, I LOVE that part too. It's the getting me to do it that seems to be the issue. I have managed to get Instagram and Twitter accounts, so now I have even more space to think about posting LOL * Blog title: Groundskeeper Willie, in Treehouse of Horror 5 I have been playing with my Shiny Camera and loving it. While I have a lot to learn, I am enjoying the heck out of goofing around with various whimsical ideas. I amuse myself endlessly with the whimsy in my head. Here are some photos. |
