I keep seeing the whole, Fans are UPSET and want a re-write thing floating around the internet. In fact, the Fans that are UPSET probably kept some people from attending ComicCon last week and that is just sad.
I mean, I get it - the last season had... issues? For me, the main one was how fast it went. I wish it could have been a longer season, more fleshed out and less Wild Ride that Leaves You Thinking WTF! But it was what it was and that is the reality of it. I was brought into the GOTs family via the first season, which I binge watched over a weekend. Then of course, I got the books. And I LOVED the books. I did also enjoy the show, but the books were the best. So, I signed up for the writers version when I kept watching the show. There were changes of course - did I agree with them? No, not really for the most part, but I saw why the show went in the direction it did - a show can never be as in depth as a book unless it is a really LONG show. And then Martin left us all hanging by NOT FINISHING THE BOOKS so I could no longer feel superior to the show watchers with pre-information LOLOL Thing is, I actually liked the ending. I felt it stuck with the way the characters were acting and it felt ok to me. I hated the speed with which it occurred but I was fine with it. Also, my tarot cards predicted the ending and that still gives me chills. Bottom line: Game of Thrones was not a Choose Your Own Adventure. We don't get to say DO IT AGAIN because we didn't like it. That isn't the way it works and it kind of seems spoiled, self entitled and Gimme Gimme - I keep seeing Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka in my head... BUT I WANT A BETTER ENDING NOWWWWW. I am still looking forward to the books - I hope he finishes them someday. But I also have a great imagination and get to make the characters do anything I want, in my head. I see no need to bash people because their vision doesn't match yours.

I think the highlight was the hybrid Dolphin Butterfly balloon - Butterphin? Dolphfly?
I miss the party bears. Although, the store seems to be subtly catering to stoners - as there was beer pong supplies and hacky sacks available. Also, you must hum The Bangles, Eternal Flame while you read this as that is what the musak was while I was shopping. Happy Sunday (photo by Me at Forest Lawn - I think it looks like a Gods Wood Tree) I woke up humming Kundalini Express this morning. Not a bad way to wake up I suppose. The song is in your heart Your heart is in the song The song is of the earth The song is of the sky You are disintegrating Into everything around Reintegrating The worm we dug from higher ground You have let go of ego Ego is no longer you Closer to nirvana Since the porters whistle blew All aboard the express Kundalini -------------------------------------- Dreams. I haven't had many over the past few nights - my sleep has been more insomnia than REM. But this morning's montage was fun. I was at the bottom of a deep valley, it kind of looked like Goat Rocks Wilderness. I was looking for a way up and out but it was all too steep or blocked off. Then someone pointed out the way and I was all of a sudden in a house on the cliff trying to find a shirt to wear? Yeah, dreams are fun LOL Then I was on a blind date type of thing? Not sure - but it was Josh Dallas aka Prince Charming from OUAT - and I thought he was an office worker, but he was really a police officer and didn't want to freak me out? I don't know it was blurry. He had this great apartment though, decorated out with neat stuff hanging from the ceiling - he had a weird cat dog too... It could chat? I wasn't sure if it was even real or a toy. Before I could ask, I woke up. Not really a satisfactory ending at all. I know where it came from though! I was reading a PCT journal before bed - that was the Goat Rocks area. And I saw a photo of Josh Dallas on Instagram - from San Diego ComicCon - as for how it all mashed up? No idea. My brain does some crazy stuff when left on its own. I realized while going through some old "to post on my website photos," that I never posted these and the are way too fun to forget.
A friend of mine decided to buy some quirky soda the other day so we could have an adventure at lunch. You would think anything involving bacon would be a win, or so I thought at first. Then I remembered Baconnaise. *shudders* First thing was the color. A sort of brownish reddish baconish color. The smell? Also, vaguely baconish. Since I picked the flavor of the day, I had to try it first. I cannot begin to describe the horrible rainbow of flavors I was assaulted with. I finally settled on “Carbonated sizzlean” whereas my friend went with “Chemically burnt bacon.” (There are photos of our reactions that are just too scary to post, plus he would kill me) On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being death, this rates negative 1 and shouldn’t even be on the scale at all. Lester, have you ever even tasted bacon? ~~~~~~ More Flavor Tests To Follow – we are either very brave or very “adventurous.” Photo is of a lunar eclipse awhile ago. I won't see the one tonight. Also, it's totally unrelated to my post, but it is quite timely as far as Full Moons and Lunar Eclipses.
So, I had this long dream, I woke up several times but it continued after I fell back asleep. In it I was aware of someone I only know online and only as a IG follow at that. So, it was odd that that person was even in my dreams. At first as only a background character but one I was supposed to interact with and at some point did - I'm always amused when there is kissing in a dream, when that kissing is done by a stranger. If you are kissed by a stranger, then your dream is one of self-discovery. You need to get more acquainted with some aspect of yourself. Kissing can also indicate wish fulfillment, fantasy, or even the want of close conversation with that person. Kissing / desire are often mixed up in dreams and can be associated as well with talking/conversation. And in most cases, all the various peoples in your dreams are aspects of yourself, although at times they do represent real people, you can usually tell. My thoughts though are this: If you dream, lucidly, or even think deeply about another person, wouldn't those thoughts create a wave that would eventually touch that person? I think it was Jung, or someone similar who posited that when you are thinking of someone, you will often receive a letter or phone call from that very person because your thoughts touched them and reminded them of you. Even if they didn't realize it. It echoed until they heard it. In the case of someone you don't speak to - how would you even know? I guess, if they were brave enough, they could contact you in some way but in today's freaked out world of hate and accusation, I suspect they would be too wary to do so. Sad really. Dreams like this are hard to shake too, because they felt so vivid, that upon waking up, it feels as though all of those things really happened. It's rather intimate isn't it? To feel that you have some sort of knowledge about another, even if only in a dream form. I think this is why I have studied dreams so much. They are quite magical and it is a vast landscape to travel in. Another part of my dream had me looking at old vintage ads that had been embroidered and I though, I CAN DO THAT, and so I can. At least there is one part of my dream that is doable LOL The ground has stopped moving so much here. For that I am thankful!
Here is my latest creative project. I used Culture Hustles Black 2.0 paint. Along with their Pinkest Pink powder and Lit Glow powder to do all sorts of fun things. I have a tub of plastic animals that I bought just for the wee Pocket Hippo and I grabbed 2 zebras to play with. Big Zebra is painted in Lit Glow Baby Zebra is painted in Pinkest Pink mixed with Lit Glow There are D&D dice painted in the Black 2.0 with Shift as well as the Pink/Lit combo and then when you have leftovers you obviously paint your nails so they glow too. And this stuff is BRIGHT - a little light on it and it will shine all night, like, you can read by it bright! You can find it all at Culture Hustle - I love their stuff! So apparently, the July 4th quake, was a forequake - a build up to the one that hit last night a little after 8. Which ended up being quite forceful and rattly and made me feel motion sick. 7.1 and the largest quake to hit California in 20 years. There were a few aftershocks in the 5 region but nothing woke me up during the night. They say the fault is growing - lovely - but it isn't the San Andreas and in theory shouldn't set the SA off - cross fingers - but everything feels like it's still moving. The only casualty I had was 1 Harry Potter ornament tipping over off my shelf LOL Got lucky in that nothing was damaged here. Went grocery shopping and I was wondering if it would be packed full of people, but it wasn't. I guess a lot of people are still on vacation or what not. Ever since Ralphs took away the Graduation Party Bears, there has not been a whole lot to photograph for my Things I Saw While Shopping Series on Instagram. I miss the party bears. I will say that the broken butt Butterfly is reflective of my current very tired mood LOL Everytime I see or hear the news about all the quakes and the swarm we are having I end up picturing this scene from Seinfeld - LOLOL *Brian Setzer Orchestra ;)
I feel the sky tumbling down ... tumbling down...
Nothing like a healthy earthquake to start the day. I guess it was downgraded a bit ago to a 6.4.... A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Southern California on Thursday, the largest temblor to hit the region in two decades. The 10:33 a.m. quake was centered in the Searles Valley, a remote area of Kern County about 100 miles north of Los Angeles, and was felt as far away as Long Beach and Las Vegas. “We should be expecting lots of aftershocks,” Jones said. She estimated that there was a “greater than 50-50” chance of an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 or more Thursday afternoon. Oh goody, aftershocks. Remind me not to take a shower til they are done LOL I used to hate earthquakes and while I am still not a huge fan, they don't bother me as much as they used to. This one was a rolling, waving quake, which is not as bad as those slip strike quakes that jiggle your brain around while you wait for it to STOP OH PLEASE STAHP. I'd still rather have a quake than deal with tornadoes though. Happy 4th if you Celebrate. *coughcough* These, are NOT fireworks. They are baby fire fizzles? And expensive for something that may or may not even light. Maybe as a kid these would have had me begging mom for a pack, but now, I just get sort of cringe-y about it. I know I am going to sound like Grandpa Simpson, but it is just way too dry around here to be lighting any fireworks. The fire hazards are scary right now. As a small kid I hated fireworks. The noise drove me bananas - I still don't like the noise, especially when it sounds like a war zone at 3 in the morning, but I do like watching the professional shows, like Disneyland or The Queen Mary.
For awhile I lived in Ohio, like redneck, backwoods, Deliverance, Ohio and out in the middle of nowhere, you could light some very impressive and not very legal? fireworks off in your own backyard! One of them was called the Neighborhood Annoyer and it was basically one big loud BOOM that reverberated into the woods. I liked it. I wish I had several now but not for the holiday - just for having on hand to shut my annoying neighbors up. I don't have many fond memories of Ohio, but I did like the 4th. The fireflies would come out and land on you while you were out holding sparklers and such. I miss the fireflies the most. I guess they thought I looked like one very big sparkly firefly? So I guess this is a thing for little kids and people who can light off the impressive and slightly illegal fireworks and the rest of us are stuck praying that the idiots lighting up M80s aren't going to land it on the roof. Happy 4th ;) |
