I was given a lovely purply pink miniature rose plant for my birthday and in a surprising act of getting things done, I actually potted it within days of getting it. As opposed to waiting 3 years to re-pot something, like I did with my christmas tree. Hopefully, it takes to the new pot and being outside.
I am glad I went to the nursery early as within a few hours of getting Rose potted, my allergies decided to attack me with a lovely pressure headache. Thanks Spring!

First, it was like traffic multiplied from the usual craziness and yet, I was chill. Then I hit about 7 red lights in a row and I was remaining calm-ish. Then I hit 3 red lights that never ever get used, down tiny side streets. I might have yelled a few choice words.
Then I was chill again. For most of the commute they were working on the streetlamps, replacing the light bulbs. Can't say I have ever seen that before. But it did narrow the 3 usual lanes into one very cranky lane. Then I saw a red tail hawk sitting on a telephone pole which was lovely and I wished I could have taken its picture. But I had to pay attention to lightbulb replacers. I also saw 14 jet contrails during my drive. To me, that is my brother, letting me know all is well and it's ok. (Long story short, right after he was cremated, we saw jet trails shooting by above the crematorium and it was just one of those stress release moments of "Houston, we have lift off" and everything felt ok for a bit.) THEN things got realllllly crazy. The toilets broke at work. All three of them. That was at 1. When I left at 6:30, the first plumber had called a second plumber and then the heavy lifting started. Also, their "machines" shorted out the lights. So, they were trying to figure out how to get them back on and still fix the holes in the floors where the actual toilet went. So, most of the day required me running across the street to the shopping center bathrooms and getting a touch dehydrated because I got tired of running across the street. Lesson of the day? Sometimes, you just have to laugh! OMMMMMM BUT! Look what my lovely friends at work gave to me for my birthday! Not pictured is the Not Your Momma's Pudding that my awesome friend made me because it was in the fridge. So GOOD. What a lovely day so far! I was even a bit freaked out when I realized Google knew it was my birthday and gave me a candle doodle. Google knows everything!. Even my dentist sent me a nice text message. Thank you to everyone that left me happy messages on facebook and instagram - I really appreciate all the kind words. They made my day a wonderful one! Randomness so far.
Twitter keeps throwing up balloons at me. I love it. Yes, I am easily amused. A new bullet journal kit to start a mindfulness/daily gratitude journal. I have also found the motherload of talented bujo peoples on Instagram. I may need someone to come pull me out of my IG fog before I disappear forever in all that beautifulness. My card of the day, The Chariot. Which is very awesome to get at the start of another year of life for me. Self assure, determined, forward momentum, confident and having faith in myself! And then Pocket Hippo. It's his first avocado. He's quite happy about it. I think he might move in. Curious. Why to people always use a leaf blower when there is 20 mph winds? Does it give them an edge? Also, why do my trashy neighbors always feel the need to DISCUSS things outside in FULL VOLUME like no one can hear them? Stay Classy Neighbors Excuse the arty clutter behind the fabulousness that is my new zoom lens. I was making due pretty well with the starter lens but this one really makes me happy. Here is a tree that is very very very far away from me. Also, I took this through my bedroom window and you can barely see the screen. Nice. I will be geeking out with my new toy shortly.
Things I am working on: Finishing up The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying - this is my 4th reading and it is really clicking more than ever. So much wisdom and mindfulness and it is all becoming clearer the more I study. I have several Tarot posts almost ready to go dealing with questions I have been asked regarding how to choose the deck and also basic reading info especially when it comes to the Minor Arcana. Running my latest batch of photos through Lightroom. And I just got a bullet journal kit and I think I am going to use this one for daily mindfulness. Yay for journals and brush pens and stickers and rulers and paper-y things. Have a great evening! I love visiting Forest Lawn - mostly because it is lovely and quiet. It was also very very windy and I took a ton of photos of pinwheels to practice with shutter and aperture settings. I will post those later this week along with the markers I found that stood out.
Another visitor was telling me he saw several hawks, coyotes and prairie dogs so I need to come back early and or later. No snakes thank goodness. Although in the field with the bird and concrete vaults there probably were several. I chose to not go there. I have never actually gone down to this area so I need to go back and look at the markers more closely, I did find a few though that were just gorgeous. This is also the older section, where a lot of the dates start with 1860. I am glad I ventured over today. The first 2 photos got me good. I mean, tears people! I also got a zoom lens today, I should have it tomorrow! Right now I have 18 to 55 and the zoom is 75 to 300. So, I will be able to see up that birds beak next time and not have to go into snake grass! I have been having the funkiest dreams lately. Although, I can't complain about the last two. Saturday morning I dreamt I was making out with Joshua Jackson and then this morning I was making out with Neil Gaiman, both of which I have huge crushes on LOL So, I play this online simulation game called Howrse. Which is what it sounds like. You can make your own little horse world, breeding, racing, making an equestrian center. It is a lot of fun and I have been playing since early 2000. Lately though, the ads at the top of the game are um, totally unrelated to the game. I mean, show me ads about horses, or tack or feed.... I don't need ads about cartoon games in which you can practice bondage with little cartoon girls. That's just messed up. Also, I am pretty sure the word breast has an A in it. The third picture just freaked me out. I mean, that is my name! Some company has MY NAME. I wonder if they owe me money for using it LOL Still really loving Instagram. If you have an account let me know so I can stalk, er um, follow you!
Today I am going out to take photographs and then I will be working on my Tarot FAQ. Any Q's just let me know! Starting a new thing here! Each Friday I will post 5 pictures from my day. This way I get practice with my photography and hopefully amuse myself and anyone who pops by! We are getting ready for our annual fundraiser at work, the Red Dot Auction. Donated pieces are slowly coming in and I was talking to a co-worker about one of them. She asked if it was an *art red* canvas. (meaning reddot) and I laughed and we both said, at the exact same time, RED RUM.
It was probably funnier if you were there. But I loved how our minds went to the same place that quickly. Which is also kinda scary too. Big achievement today? I did not complain the entire day. *blink blink* yep. Proud moment. I saw on facebook a sort of challenge to go the entire day without being negative or complaining. Accepted and completed! Yay Me! Now, it's your turn. Happy Weekend everyone! I think I may actually be addicted to Instagram. It's been around a long long while and I never really thought to try it until I was finally nudged by a friend. I am actually enjoying it A LOT. In fact, I am spending more and more time there and less time on Facebook. Not sure if it is just me, but it seems FB is a hotbed of negativity and politics (both one in the same really.) It is getting harder to weed that out lately. So, I am over on IG if you have one, please find me! <---- I am also working on more Pocket Hippo adventures. I am pondering giving him his own IG as he seems to have more fun than I do LOL I am discovering all sorts of ways to deal with my anger in traffic issues. First it was movie soundtracks but more and more I am just turning the music off and trying to practice my mindful breathing. Staying with each breath when I feel my jaws clench because most people are either driving while looking at their phones or most likely don't even have a valid license.
Since I am stuck in my car for about an hour each way to work, it is a excellent time to center my mind and remember to breath. My lesson for the day was to practice sending and taking alternately. It is part of a practice called Tonglen. Basically you send out happiness and take in suffering. But you take it in with compassion and send out in the same way. I do suffer in traffic so it makes plenty of sense to use that suffering in a positive way. Although to be honest, I realized that when I get angry in traffic I am totally mindful with it. I am with my anger and I am that anger. We be rolling together in the here and now, traffic and I. But it still isn't the best way to deal LOLOL So, what do you do when stuck in traffic? *Curious minds* Well Blessed Ostara and a lovely Spring Equinox to you! It is still rather wintry blah looking but there are bits of color peeking out of random places and my allergies are in full swing! <---- The Tarot of Card of the Day is a nice one for the first day of Spring. The Sun! That is the Sun from The Tarot of the Magical Forest and I love this deck so much. Sun, happiness, brilliance and radiance. Seeing everything clearly and understanding everything. The Sun has the vital energy we need to live and to see and to be brilliant!! Go outside and stand under some warming sunshine. Or, if your day is like mine, maybe imagine what that sun feels like under all that manky cloud cover LOL Playing with some Chalk Markers this morning - It felt like a Springy thing to do!
First, this is a really fun crate. It's my first from Lootcrate and for the most part I am happy with it. The issues I have are crates being late all the time, or missing stuff and backordered til whenever, but then a crate like this one comes today and I am all SQUEEEEEE LOL
So, while I decide if I am going to cancel or keep, I wanted to post some of the pictures from my last crates, in no real order since I am finding them all over my PC. But the most recent March 18 crate will be first and it was really FUN! Some of my other favs are the plates with the kittens, the School Scarf, Tie and Gym Bag not pictured but still pretty awesome. |
