First: A Quick taste of the Affogato Diaries - mini version... This one was done on the quick and it wasn't too bad. Same supplies as the previous AD - read here. The differences were small but I think made it slightly less tasty - The glasses weren't chilled and the espresso was pre-made and then heated in the microwave - WeeCubeMan totally nuked that espresso LOLOLOLOL Affogato scale of awesomeness a 10 being the best First affogato: 4 Second affogato 7 Third affogato: 9.5 - there is always room for improvement but this was a solid awesome treat! Fourth affogato: 8.5 - tasty but slightly nuked LOL Fifth affogato: TBD Dream land: Some really great dreams followed by a few fallow nights of not being able to wake up enough to write them down. It's odd, but a night without recalling dreams is like waking up with no road map to what comes next. That is the best I can explain it anyway. Maybe it's because I have been trying to really work with my dreams to progress to whatever it is I am here to do and not having a recall after nights of great dreams, leaves me feeling out of touch the next morning.
I do know I have much more to explore as my last dream had many doors left to open, although some were locked... but I will get there. Synchronicity of note: many 8s in my dreams lately - along with pulling the 8 of wands with a higher percentage than one would think it would show up. Combined with my dreams, it is a positive sign, forward momentum and progress is happening. I like that sort of thing!

On today's episode of The Affogato Diaries we are using:
Tillamook Vanilla Bean ice cream Cafe La Llave Espresso French Press Ice cold glass tumblers WeeCubeMan went all out on this episode - he brought in a french press and glass tumblers as well as some hard core espresso. Ooh La La The Affogato Diaries are going fancy! Glasses were put into the freezer for a few hours and he made sure the freezer was cranked up as cold as it could get to make sure the ice cream was solid. (That was totally key) I am pretty sure anything else in that freezer will stay solid for years now. Heh Heh. This was a great ice cream too. It has the little frozen bits of ice in it that make it smooth yet crunchy and added a great texture to the affogato! I liked it better than the gelato. Once the espresso was done, we got out the glasses and loaded in the ice cream. Slowly pour a few tablespoons of espresso over the ice cream. We actually used a bit more but to each their own! Because the ice cream was so solid, the espresso hardly melted it, which was a problem before. It was too soupy. This time, it stayed ice cream shaped and the espresso blended with it to make a very awesome affogato! It thought it looked like a root beer float but with a higher kick and a really good taste. I really don't think I could drink espresso on it's own, but this was just refreshing and tasty! High fives were had and then about 20 minutes later - the caffeine hit and bouncy bouncy! Affogato scale of awesomeness a 10 being the best First affogato: 4 Second affogato 7 Third affogato: 9.5 - there is always room for improvement but this was a solid awesome treat! Fourth affogato: TBD Weecubeman has gotten me hooked on these things and I don't even like espresso or coffee like things. But it looked good so I tried it and exclaimed, "that is effin tasty." So, he's been on a kick to make the best possible affogato ever. I, of course, offered to help, by tasting and pointing out helpful things like, "the espresso might be done its been 2 minutes," and "your espresso is now going nuclear in the microwave." (see photo below) The first one we tried was made with that canned espresso, High Brew and Hagen Dazs vanilla ice cream. Aside from the over microwaved nuclear burnt taste of the espresso, I thought it was good. I was told it was not good and I had nothing to compare it to but I would see good at some future point. Weecubeman is a very determined individual. He won't stop until he achieves whatever it is he has set out to do so I figured I was going to be eating a lot of this stuff in my future. I am totally ok with that. Next try was Black Market Gelato and Chameleon Cold-Brew Espresso. Weecubeman likes things hot. Like, nuclear hot. Hence the exploded espresso in the microwave at work. It still smells like espresso. The pour: Much tastier espresso. Not as burnt tasting but the gelato still melted quickly. I still liked it but Weecubeman was not impressed. So. I googled. Turns out we are using way too much espresso (about 3 tablespoons not a half mug) and not enough gelato. Oh and we really should freeze the glasses or cups before we pour stuff into it. I don't really drink a lot of caffeine so even the small amount of espresso made me bouncier than usual. (I am already pretty bouncy so it was amusing) I thought I'd be able to get a lot of work done after drinking it, but I only ended up staring at pretty things for an hour before wanting a nap. Affogato scale of awesomeness a 10 being the best First affogato: 4 Second affogato 7 Third affogato: TBD Even the first experiment was much tastier than Uncle Lester's Bacon soda (story for another day) Yes, my job is probably a lot more fun than most peoples. I consider myself incredibly lucky - even if I have to listen to 8 hours of mariachi music while I am there.
