I know I know, my last post was on the wee green baby - BUT, can you ever have TOO much of it?
I think no.
Anyway, I wanted to see if I could embroider its squee like goodness and it turns out, I CAN! I am so happy with it - I am going to try a few more and see if anyone wants to buy one. I am so tickled with the outcome!
I started it around April 12 and while I didn't work on it every day, it was about a month total in the making. Yowza. I embroidered a mother fucking dragon you guys!
That was my most ambitious project to date and now I think I can pretty much do anything - well except ride on a dragon. ;)
The majority of this is with floss - the sky was done with watercolor pencils and a barely damp q-tip to blend the various colors I used to create the stormy look like there was on the album... (and yes, I flipped it the other way, I liked the way it looked) And I didn't like the yellow bits of the sky, so I left it all cloudy.
Last night was amazing. There was a massive lightning storm for a few hours - it made me incredibly happy too since So. Cal. rarely gets any type of storm. It was still raining this morning so of course that called for a trip out in it to play.
I got some fun embroidery floss and a few things to embroider on - hopefully, I can amass a nice stock to get an etsy store started.
So, it's a perfect day to stay in and create fun things. Have a great weekend!
