Just having a little art journaling fun with stock piled ephemera and a stack of colored copied tarot cards I made awhile ago. I love the way they came out! I am making these into prints and cards to sell!

This is my last month with a large planner as next year I opted for a smaller more portable book. But I decided I wanted to give each month a theme word, and this one is Nourish with a side of Gratitude.
It was a busy weekend so I just used some washii tape, stickers, colored markers and gel pens. But I like the simplicity of it. I am trying to decide if I like this weekly layout. It is organized and looks nice and neat but it doesn't leave a lot of room for flowy looseness LOL I may try a different weekly spread in May.
These are so addicting! Decided to have some fun making an exercise tracker for each month and that is for April. Then I started to decorate for May because I had time. I also did a Hashtag page because it is hard to remember all of them when I am actually posting on Instagram. The tags on the page are the main ones I use at the moment.
So far, this journal is doing well in taking ink. With the darker gelly roll and micron pens it kinda shows up on the back side of the page, but not badly. It is a Lemome journal that I got in a kit. Supplies: Colored pencils, gelly roll pens, tombow dual brush pens. Micron and gel pens. Washii tape and random stickers/art I find in magazines. Now I love finding a great deal on stickers, thank you Amazon! Something to perk up my bullet journal which I am going to work on in just a moment! Happy Weekend!
And at least it is a healthy addiction! I have been doing art journaling for years and when the dot journals showed up I didn't really pay too much attention to them at the time. But recently, I picked up a few and now I am hooked. Here are some pictures of the journal I started last night.
Materials: Lemome bullet journal/Tombow Dual Brush Pens/Flexion Erasable hi-lighters/gel pens/colored pencils/stickers and washii tape. Also, Monsters SCENTED highlighters. OMG smells so tasty! And they have cute faces LOL Side note: this is a pretty decent journal. The pages are thick enough to hold the tombow brushes and gel ink. Not thick enough for say my Zig artist pens or chalk markers though and the microns tend to go through a bit as well. Wow, it has been a LONG time since I posted. Two Red Dot auctions, actually. So, this was my donation to the 2017 Chuck Jones Center for Creativity Red Dot Auction. And it sold too!
Acrylic and metallic paints. I wanted to do a sort of homage to Maurice Noble and this is what I ended up with. The blobby sheeps still crack me up. It has been a very long time since I posted anything and I had wanted to share this - since the auction is long over.
My donated piece to the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity's Red Dot this year was called Planet X Goes Timey Wimey. And I was absolutely thrilled to find that Linda Jones, Chuck Jones's daughter, bought my art!! So exciting!!! Mixed Media collage - paint pens, copic markers, colored pencils, glitter, paper, scrabble tiles, fortune cookie fortune, tigger punches, magazine cut outs and a lot of imagination.
Another collage - I don't know if this is one is still quite done, it doesn't feel done to me but since I can't figure out what is missing, I will stop fiddling with it for now.
I also need to find a black light flash light - if anyone knows where I can find one, let me know - I would appreciate it muchly! I used Neon Sharpies on this collage and it would be great to actually see what I did, before I set it loose in the world :) |
