Raven Medicine is Magic and it is sacred in medicine ways to honor Raven as the bringer of Magic. This is a powerful Medicine that gives you the courage to enter into the void, the home of all that is not yet in form. This void is called the Great Mystery and it existed before anything else came into being. The Great Spirit lives in the void and Raven is the Messenger of the void.
When Raven shows up for us it signals that we are about to have a change in consciousness. Going within our unconscious self we walk inside the Great Mystery. The Raven guides the magic of healing and changes in consciousness that will bring new states of being and wellness. He also carries the energy of ceremonial magic between the ceremony and the destination. In any healing circle, Raven is there.
When magic surrounds you, don't fight it or be afraid, this is a power of the unknown and it means something special is about to happen. You need to be aware of any synchronicities happening around you and use them to learn and grow. This is also a time to speak with the ancestors if you need help, or perhaps they are trying to call you. Raven can carry your messages.
This magic comes from the darkness of the unknown, unconscious. Find it, bring it to the light. That is true magic.
This is The Botanical Inspiration Deck by Lynn Araujo and it is just gorgeous. The deck comes in a sturdy decorated box and has a drawstring organza pouch to store them in if you don't want to use the box. There are 44 well made cards with illustrations and a quote that goes with the flower properties.
The guide book (instead of a LWB) is illustrated and has a bit of history or a story to go along with the flower. There is also a fold-out guide to the Secret Language of Flowers. It is just a lovely deck to have if you are a collector of beautiful oracle decks and it also works incredibly well as an oracle.
This deck is The Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle by Siolo Thompson and it was just released a few days ago. She is the creator of the Linestrider Tarot deck, which I do not have but is on my wish list. I pre-ordered this deck because it just looked incredibly beautiful but I had no idea how powerful it would be.
The illustrations are just gorgeous and the Hedgwitch's Field Guide is thick and full of an abundance of information for each plant as well as her paintings. Again it is a must have if you collect lovely oracle cards but more than that, it works very well as an oracle, on it's own or with other decks.
There are 40 cards with a lot of useful information. The cards are well made and shuffle easily.
I also bought this book, The Green Witch by Arin Murphy-Hiscock. I tend to hesitate on buying books aimed at witches, because they often have that strict feel of heavy, need to do ritual and I no longer follow that path like I once did. But this book isn't like that and I loved how she talked about being a Green Witch is much like I already live my life, being in tune with my environment in a solitary way and helping to heal and pass on energy in the ways that I can, without that heavy feeling of ritual.
The book has a lot of fantastic information on plants, botanicals and working with the elements in your living area. Both home and neighborhood and I am enjoying it a lot. The only downside is there are no illustrations which I think would be helpful in identifying the plants. All in all it is a gorgeous book to have in my library.
My Tarot Card Practice. I have been studying Tarot for over 20 years now and am still learning new things daily.
