The Chariot (Thoth) The Chariot crosses the Abyss, joining Geburah to Binah. High on the Tree of Life this card deals with the profound aspects of nature and consciousness. The Chariot reminds us to master our Will, (the Sphinxes) as well as our opposing forces inside us, so that we are in harmony with the Universe. The Chariot (AA) It's go time! When this card shows up it is time to focus our willpower, concentrate on where we want to go and hold on tight. Be sure you have your ideas and goals clearly outlined so you can focus on exactly what it is you want and keep that focus under control - everything is going to start moving very quickly and you don't want to crash your vehicle! Together: This is about a lot of high speed energy and focusing our Will so we can harness that energy without losing momentum.

The Empress (Thoth) Card of Venus, love and beauty - feminine energy, comfort and compassion, The Empress is our doorway to life and creating our world. She is one half of the alchemical combination that mixes with the Emperor and gives us that spark we need to maintain our own universe. From The Book of Thoth: Love and let love. Rejoice in every shape of love, and get they rapture and thy nourishment thereof. The Empress (AA) Such a gorgeous and lush looking card - full of love, compassion, abundance and beauty. The Empress is the Earth Mother and helps us get in touch with the world around us - all the elements that helps us create our path. Everything we need is available to us - and I love this part... we only need to believe in ourselves! Together you get a nice earworm for the day: Goddess on the mountain top Burning like a silver flame The summit of beauty and love And Venus was her name She's got it Yeah, baby, she's got it I'm your Venus, I'm your fire At your desire Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Two of Wands Mars is sitting in Aries here and that is some serious energy to deal with. Mars loves being in Aries and Aries is happy to have him. Together they explode with bold and fiery energy. These two are sitting in Chokmah and makes this card fire in its best and highest form. This is also Will in its most exalted form. (BOT) These wands are demon-headed Tibetan Dorjes and represent the directed power of the Gods. They serve as instruments of divine destruction - that precedes the creative cycle. As Crowley says, "the virgin ovum must be broken in order to fertilize it." This is about focusing our WILL and creating harmony within ourselves and within the Universe. This is the start of finding our personal destinies and making our dreams into realities, Two of Rods These rods tends to show up when we are getting ready to move forward with something but we aren't quite there yet. We have ideas but we aren't sure what direction to go in. This is the time to wait, just a bit more, taking the time to create a solid plan to follow so we aren't spinning our wheels. Look at all the options available, stay balanced and follow your gut feelings on which way to go. Have courage and trust yourself! Together: Take small steps to big goals. Two of Cups Water in its best form and so lovely to look at. This shows the harmony of masculine and feminine united. It is perfect and placid harmony, radiating an intensity of joy and ecstasy. There are a lot of flowing emotions here so let yourself free to join that endless stream. Two of Elixirs This card is all about love, romance and balanced connections. While it is more indicative of a love/romance, it can also signify close friendships or partnerships. It also reminds us to keep an open heart and be kind and patient with others as well as ourselves. Together: Let your emotions flow balanced and freely. Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
2 things: first, this is my card and it has been coming up a lot for me lately - so much fiery energy here! second: I have noticed that while the Antique Anatomy Tarot cards are thin, they are shuffling quite well - I am not so worried that they will tear anymore. So full marks for this gorgeous deck! Queen of Wands Water of Fire, this Queen blasts off the card with so much fiery energy. She is strong and solid and yes, she can be self-absorbed and is easily offended. Crowley says of her, "when she misses her bite, she breaks her jaw." But balanced and in harmony, she is everything the world needs in a strong woman. Queen of Rods Love love love the art on this card - this Queen is so full of fiery energy. She is a great leader, full of charisma and charm - but never forget her Temper! Stay on her side and she will move mountains for you. This card reminds us to channel all that creative energy into whatever projects you are working on. Together: Channel your inner Queen of Wands - stand strong and let your creative energy flow! Seven of Cups This card is just... gross. Crowley didn't like it much either saying, "This is one of the worst ideas that one can have; its mode is poison, its goal madness. It represents the delusion of DT's and drug addiction; ... the sinking into the mire of false pleasure." The Tree of Life is a great example for why this card is so debauched! Venus is in Scorpio and is not well dignified there. She is sitting in Netzach which makes her happy... too happy, so happy it's making her a wee drunk. Too much of a good thing is sitting low on the Tree and isn't balanced at all. Sticking with the drinking metaphors, after one too many, you just end up in the gutter. This is a time of filtering out what is important and what isn't. Reality or delusion? Let the unnecessary drain away. VII of Elixirs I love all the little details on the bottles of this card! Which remind us that this 7 is full of fantasy and dreams. Those are not bad things, but if we get lost in them or can't decide which to choose, we just get overwhelmed and lost in the chaos. When that happens, try to balance the confused emotions with some logic and cut through the distortions. Together: Both are a strong reminder to stay grounded in reality while you ponder your choices. Dreams and fantasy can be a great jumping off point into a new creative venture, but don't get lost there. Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Knight of Cups Fire of water this Knight gives us a massive rainstorm, overflowing streams - water in action. Crowley says, "He is amiable in a passive way. He is quick to respond to attraction and easily becomes enthusiastic under such stimulus, but he is not very enduring.... His name is writ in water." This is a Knight with a great love of life and the wings to fly through it - but he also has a tendency to use those wings to escape if he isn't grounded. Also, I love this, he is the only Knight that isn't wearing a helmet, so he is open and trusting in nature. Knight of Elixirs I almost, ALMOST, want to compare this Knight to Professor Gilderoy Lockhart from Harry Potter LOL It's the smile and the romantic in him - otherwise no. This is a Knight of chivalry and romance. He loves the beautiful things but he can be a tad flighty at times. This card reminds us to stay open with our affections and to be compassionate to others and ourselves. Together: Let your inner Knight of Cups loose today. Enjoy the beauty and romance of life and smile! Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
The Lovers (Thoth) The fourth of the alchemical trumps, The Lovers stands for the "Solve" in the solve et coagula. The coagula comes in when we get to Art. Together it talks of marriage and pregnancy and the child of that union, which is symbolized by the Orphic Egg - sitting at the bottom of the card. I love this part because it joins the previous alchemical trumps all together and we even have the Hermit officiating! And what does all that mean? Harmony and balance - the melding of opposites into one. When you are fully open to love and trust, you can create anything, that is the magic of alchemy and the Great Work. The Lovers (AA) This card reminds us we have choices. I love that the companion card to The Lovers is The Devil, because that really illuminates the fact that we need to make the choices wisely. Looking at all of our options and then choosing the best or most appropriate course - and that can be tough if we think we are going to miss out on something. The best way to narrow the choice is to use both your heart (emotions) and your mind (logic). Together: Choose wisely. Stay balanced and in harmony with the universe around you. With an open heart and you will never go wrong. Daily Mindfulness Thoth/Antique Anatomy Tarot
Princess of Cups Earth of Water, this Princess brings us beauty and light. She reminds us to be playful and curious with empathy and understanding in our interactions with others. We started with the Ace and are now we see the end product in the Princess - the full potential of what we began with. Because of her Earthy-ness she can ground our dreams into a solid reality. She gives us a fertile ground to manifest our ideas. Page of Elixirs This page is sensitive and intuitive as well as compassionate and kind. This is the friend who is always there when you need to talk and she reminds us to see other people's points of view. Let yourself run with the emotions you have and express yourself with love! Together: Ground your dreams into reality and let your emotions flow freely! Daily Mindfulness Thoth and Antique Anatomy Tarot
I wanted to see how they compared/contrasted so I am going to try doing the same card from each deck for a few days. The Magus The first of the alchemical trumps, The Magus represents Mercury and mercury represents action in all forms and phases. The tools of The Magus are the wand, cup, sword and disk. With the wand, create freely, cup absorb joyously, sword divide intently and the disk consolidate completely. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. We are what we do and the best way to do that is to stay in the present moment. We are constantly creating and recreating our world and Mercury/Magus is the electric charge that gets that creating going. What would you like to create? Use your unique gifts to share yourself with the world. The Magician The step you made with the Fool is now a spark of creation with the Magician. We grab ideas out of the ether and manifest them here in reality. You have everything you need to create the world you want so stay focused and determined. Together: You've got the whole world in the palm of your hand. |
