Daily Mindfulness - Thoth Deck
Six of Cups I love the happiness of this card. Gentle waves, dancing lotuses, symmetry and balance. The water flows and pours into the cups, but they are not yet filled - this is the start of emotional happiness/emotions. The four and five of cups were just like bad dreams and now, we wake up to find ourselves in a good place again. As Crowley says, "this is pleasure in its highest sense. It implies well-being, harmony of natural forces without effort or strain." Beginning of wish, happiness, success or enjoyment. Time of steady increase/gain in pleasure, but the start of it only. Now we need to open ourselves up to receive this gift of pleasure. Open your heart and become a part of this endless flow of loving emotional energy. Picture it like a river that runs endlessly by you - and dive in!

Daily Mindfulness - Thoth Deck
Two of Cups The LOVE cups! This is a most beautiful card - restful and sweet. This is the energy of water in its best form. A perfect balance of emotion. As Crowley puts it, "this card might really be renamed the Lord of Love Under Will for that is its full and true meaning. It shows the harmony of the maile and the female.... radiating an intensity of joy and ecstasy." Harmony of masculine and feminine united. Pleasure and mirth! I don't think we get enough mirth in life LOL And while this can indicate a balanced love between two people. it is also a reminder that we need to love ourselves. Self-love and self- trust and vital because if we can't love ourselves, then we cannot properly share ourselves with anyone else. Daily Mindfulness - Thoth Deck
Six of Swords Six balanced swords focus their analytical power upon the mysteries of being (Science) - resting on the Rose Cross. The formula for this card is very auspicious - for the human soul, the counterpart of Yetzirah is the Ruach (intellect.) On the Tree of Life, the center of Ruach radiates from Tiphareth. And Mercury, an air planet, is sitting in Aquarius - giving it a keen analytical mind and ability to concentrate as well as being curious and looking at all sides of a question. It is a energetic looking card and it shows the crackles of confusion and anxiety we may have been dealing with lately. The swords rest on top of all that chaos with sharp clarity and balance - that balance thanks to Tiphareth - lending it a nice clear-headedness. Labor, work, journey by water - success after anxiety and trouble, that is the meaning given the card and it reminds us that when things get chaotic, finding balance and thinking clearly, looking at issues with different perspectives can gives us the clarity we need to sail into smoother waters. The Tower Well Bugger, for my monthly draw, this week coming up is a Tower week and I am not happy about it, BUT! As much as it looks like the end of the world, it isn't. It is just creating a space for something new, even if we didn't think we needed anything new. Crowley calls this, "the manifestation of cosmic energy in its grossest from" This is a natural process that we shouldn't fear, like the Hindu Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva - our world will continually be created, sustained and destroyed over and over. From the Book of Thoth, "To obtain perfection, all existing things must be annihilated." Kind of like the alchemical putrefaction from the Death card, only on a larger scale, because if we took care of the issue earlier, then it wouldn't have reached Tower proportions. Be willing to see what it is you are still carrying with you and be even more willing to let go of things that no longer serve you. Daily Mindfulness - Thoth Deck
Nine of Cups This just looks like a happy card - a complete and perfect realization of pleasure and happiness. This card sits in the middle pillar on the tree of life - stable and content - Yesod, is Foundation, the sephira that stabilizes the entire tree. Jupiter is in Pisces, mutable water sign, and Jupiter has an affinity to water. Crowley says, that, Chesed, where Jupiter sits, "represents Water in its highest material manifestation." That is a lot of happy right there. We have flowing clear water, gushing from the lotus flowers into gorgeous cups - the card itself looks full to bursting with color and light. On a day when this card rules, enjoy that burst of happy energy and brilliant light. There is a continuous flow of this love and light all around us, all the time. We often forget that when we are having a hard time, so this card is a reminder to stop and look for that beauty again and let it fill you up. Daily Mindfulness - RWS Tarot
This song always pops into my head when I pull the RWS Death - turns out, it is kind of apt. If you look at the song via an Alchemical process. There are even a few articles on the interwebs if you so desire to Google for more information on it. Talks about The Great Work too. Bring on the dancing horses Wherever they may roam First I'm gonna make it Then I'm gonna break it Till it falls apart Hating all the faking And shaking while I'm breaking Your brittle heart Death Time to let something go and it will probably hurt... a lot. But if we cling to things that are no longer working for us, we stagnate and that is never good. We know we need to let this go but habits and patterns are so very hard to break sometimes. But if we continue to hold tightly, then this will end up with the Devil's toxicity and if we still hold on? The Tower will crumble beneath us. But this isn't the end as there are so many more cards and life to experience and we must try to face them bravely - as much as this will hurt, it is necessary for us to let go, learn and grow and move forward into that sunrise in the distance. The Aeon Final decision in respect of the past, new current in respect of the future; always represents the taking of a definite step. Judgement for the New Aeon, that of Horus. Be every Act an Act of Love and Worship! Be every Act the Fiat of God! Be every Act a Source of radiant Glory! (Book of Thoth) This card makes us really see the cause and effect of our every action. This is a time to look closely at what we have done, learn from mistakes, forgive ourselves and leave the past behind us, always taking the lessons forward. The Aeon also shows us how much we know, from all our past experiences we have an enormous storehouse of knowledge that can help us move forward into our own new Aeon. Trust yourself from moment to moment knowing you have everything it takes to make the right decisions for your path. Daily Mindfulness - Wonderland in Tarot
I just want to point out that this is another Barbara Moore deck that has a fabulous rendition of the 10 of wands. Her Steampunk deck was the first deck I ever bought just for one card, the 10 of wands. It is all in how you carry it! Ten of Wands It is not easy being a Guinea Pig in Wonderland - they do all the hard work and then get stuffed into canvas bags and sat upon. For a reading, this is indicative of a hard situation or a heavy burden. And while the Guinea Pigs of Wonderland don't really have much of a choice, we do - and we kind of get ourselves into these situations by bad choices. Wands carry that fiery "get it all done," energy and we get so amped up by the ideas, that we take on too much and then we burn out. When this happens, we need to readjust our tasks and obligations, let some go or find better options to deal with them. Daily Mindfulness - Wonderland in Tarot
King of Swords Humpty - all about rules and logic and is very easily offended if you go out of his logic bounds. He is also kind of boring and annoying but sometimes reason and truth do that. This King uses his authority with precision and efficiency - he does not suffer fools gladly and really doesn't like his authority to be questioned. The best way to work with this King is to ask a lot of questions of him. Stroke his ego, make him think he knows it all, and most likely he does. This is a very intelligent King and while he can be blustery and annoying he is also clever, powerful and can make decisions with ease. He is not emotional but based in clear logic and experience. As Humpty says to Alice, "when I use a word... it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more or less." In need of clarity? This is your King! Daily Mindfulness - Wonderland in Tarot
Seven of Cups Curiouser and curiouser! So many choices grabbing our emotional attention - how do we choose? First, it's good to have a goal. Then you can narrow down the choices that fit that particular goal. The dreams you nurture are the dreams that manifest - your imagination and focus creates your world and the world if full of endless possibilities. Be curious and use your imagination to create your world - just stay focused and grounded as well, so your dreams don't devolve into wishful thinking. |
