Daily Mindfulness
A nice sunny and energetic card for the first day of summer! The Sun As the Sun constantly regenerates so do we. At one time people thought the Sun died each night but now we know that isn't true. Sunlight is perpetual and Death is an illusion and the night will end with another day of Sun. .. . The twins on the card were the babies on the Fool card as well as the children/bride/groom on the Lovers. They represent the male and female, eternally young, shameless and innocent. They are dancing in the light, and yet they dwell upon the earth. They represent the next stage which is to be attained by mankind, in which complete freedom is alike the cause and the result of the new access of solar energy upon the earth. Live life to the fullest and remember to shine.

I have these adorable stickers that I bought to use with snail mail and my journal and this one is a total Knight of Swords! Puffy and adorable, but still a Knight! Knight of Swords Fire of Air - This Knight flies on his horse with propellers on his back! Fiery air sounds like it could be a destructive wind but also a swift and precise energy that can cut through any trouble we find ourselves in. .. . Active, clever, subtle fierce, courageous - inclined to domineer. Crowley says, "the moral qualities of person thus indicated are activity and skill, subtlety and cleverness. He is fierce, delicate and courageous, but altogether the prey of his idea, which comes to him as an inspiration without reflection." .. . This is a time to use our intellect and keep the mind sharp. But also be aware that if we don't balance the analytic mind with our basic humanness, we can become cruel and lose our warmth Daily Mindfulness
I love the soothing, calm feel and balance in this card. It's a good reminder on how to use this cards energy too. Adjustment Adjustment is perfect in balance, standing on tiptoe on the point of her sword. Suspended from her crown is a set of scales, with the left scale holding the alpha and the right scale holding the omega. Crowley calls Adjustment, "the feminine complement of the Fool." .. . Justice, the act of adjustment, suspension of all action pending decision. The card, once called Justice has been updated to adjustment because that is what is needed for us to maintain our balance. We need to constantly assess where we are and what we are doing to see if we are still moving forward on the correct path. This keeps us open to learning new things and expanding into territory we might not have known existed Daily Mindfulness
Ten of Disks Crowley calls this card, "a hieroglyph of the cycle of regeneration." It is the last card in the deck and sits in the lowest sphere (Malkuth), in the lowest world (Assiah) This is the only ten that has nowhere to go (all the other tens fall down to the next lower suit.) So this ten is going to do something different. From its place at the bottom of its world it has to link up with the secret of creation - to regenerate itself and the top of the tarot cycle. .. . Completion of material gain and fortune but nothing beyond - the pinnacle of success. Our final manifestation. The completion of our Great Work in this cycle! There is such security here but we must not become greedy or selfish with our gains. Find outlets for your wealth so they don't degenerate into stagnant nothingness. .. . This goes for material as well as inner or mental wealth. Don't hoard or close yourself off. Keep this energy flowing, the more open you are, the more you will be blessed and stay endlessly wealthy. Daily Mindfulness
Two of Cups The first manifestation of the water element and water in its best/highest form. A gorgeous card too. It sits in Chokmah on the Tree of Life and that is expressive of Will. Crowley says, "This card might really be renamed the Lord of Love under Will for that is its full and true meaning. It shows the harmony of the male and female. It is perfect and placid harmony, radiating an intensity of joy and ecstasy. .. . This card expresses duality, where the Ace was unity, the Two shows us unity in difference - it needs something besides itself to focus on. With the Ace we learn to open our hearts and love ourselves - with the Two, we can then share that love and letting it flow constantly - never let it stagnate. What you send out in joy will continue to grow and bless you. Daily Mindfulness
It's time to make some magic! What will you create today? The Magus The figure on the card actually forms the glyph for Mercury. And he juggles his tools: With the Wand createth He. With the Cup preserveth He. With the Dagger destroyeth He. With the Coin redeemeth He. Also in there is a style, paperys torch and Winged Egg and that Egg is important for our evolving symbolism in this deck. On this card the egg represents preexistent zero - like the Magus himself - the source of manifestations. It will show up in the other alchemical trumps as we walk further into the deck. .. . Skill, cunning, craft. The Magus is making his world, changing and shaping it according to his Will. That is how powerful he is and you are - you can create your world. Be sure you know exactly what you want though because that is what you are going to get. .. . A quote from the movie What Dreams May Come is perfect for this card: That which you believe becomes your world! Daily Mindfulness
The Moon I love this card! It looks kind of spooky and unreal and perfect for symbolizing the night and dreams and also the nightmares that can take us while we sleep. Look at the colors on the card - the moonlight gives everything a twilight zone vibe. That light illuminates EVERYTHING - including the things we might be trying to hide from ourselves. But it is lighting up a path for us to walk, it may not be an easy path but it is there for us! .. . This is a time to let the Moon illuminate everything for us to see - to study it, to embrace it and not fear it. We have all sorts of things inside that make us who we are - don't shun the less pretty sides but be honest about them. If it is something to change, then stand firm and do so knowing you will become stronger for it. This is a powerful energy and magic! Daily Mindfulness
Such awesome fiery energy - the fire of creation in our hands! Three of Wands Sol in Aries, this card gives off the feeling of a brilliant heat - the solar energy of creation. The Sun in Spring when it wakes things up again. The great power and the Will to use it (That we mastered in the 2 of Wands) is now fertilized. Established force, strength, realization of hope. Success after struggle. We learned to gather our Will and now it is time to be sure we are centered and balanced. Be aware of what it is we truly want and understand how to go about creating it. Be confident and believe in yourself - now is the time to achieve your goals! Daily Mindfulness
I like the Thoth version of this card. In the RWS, I call it the Side-Eye card because of the way the guy is looking at the wands. As if they may pop him one in the head. Either way, it is a good card - a reminder that you are strong and you can do whatever needs to be done. Nine of Wands "Here the Moon, the weakest of the planets, is in Sagittarius, the most elusive of the Signs; yet it dares call itself Strength." (BOT) And it can be called Strength because it sits in Yesod on the Tree of Life. Yesod is the sphere of the Moon and its also the Foundation - the seat of the great crystallization of Energy. Crowley tells us, "the Nine represents always the fullest development of the Force in its relation with the Forces above it." .. . This strength relies on its ability to change constantly. "Defense, to be effective, must be mobile." (BOT) .. . Tremendous and steady force that cannot be shaken. Victory, preceded by apprehension and fear. This is when we might have to dig deep and stay strong - trust in yourself and know you have what it takes to get things done. Be willing to adapt, improvise and overcome whatever heads your way and stay balanced and centered. Never doubt yourself. Daily Mindfulness
If you are currently trying to work through some tough issues, this is the card to help! Ace of Swords The Ace of Swords is the primordial Energy of Air, the Essence of the Vau of the Tetragrammaton, the integration of the Ruach (BOT) .. . The Ruach, again, is the intellect part of our mind and the mind wants to be in control and resists identifying with any higher levels of consciousness. So, we get all the anxiety and worry and sadness and conflict. The Swords tend to look really nasty - stabby cards, but! Used correctly, that stabby blade and cut through all of those conflicts. .. . Upon the blade is written Thelema - Greek for Will. And that is what the swords take to use. This Ace is the seed of our intellectual power - the beginnings of ideas, or just a reminder that we need to use our intellects here and while it is always good to stay balanced with our emotions, right now we need to use rational thought more. Invoke this Ace to help you see clearly! .. . Rational thought - a very much needed attribute right now when things are so up in the air and confusing is rampant. Stay balanced with your emotions and cut through the confusions! |
