Letters From the Thoth Tarot
Six of Disks This card reminds me of the Gold Stars we used to get in school for doing good things. It kind of looks like a badge of honor. Well balanced and confident. The Book of Thoth says, "It represents consciousness in its most harmonized form; definitely in form, not only in idea, as in the case of the Two. In other words, the Son is an interpretation of the Father in terms of the mind." Tiphareth (6) in this earthy and material suit, gives it its stable influence toward the practical things. Things to remember when working with this card: The value of the self is greatest when as many as possible benefit from it. When we have a strong inner balance and understand the joys of giving, our material successes will multiply - kind of like "you have only what you give away." The energy of sharing and giving will continue to keep moving - so don't let it sit and stagnate. When we are grateful for what we have and can share that with others, we keep all that positive energy flowing, so share and be thankful for the blessings.

Game of Thrones Tarot *SPOILERS FROM THE GAME OF THRONES SEASON FINALE* First, you'll notice the daily card is sitting on 3 other cards. If you didn't see that from yesterday before the episode aired, it was my reading when I asked, "Who takes throne/who is sacrificed/outcome." I have to admit I got the goosebumps. The specifics were slightly off, in that Drogon incinerated the throne, but Sansa did end up ruling the Free North. Jon was sacrificed, in that he had to leave, return to the Night's Watch and back to the beginning. And the outcome was Bran the Broken. Also, just considering the attributes of the cards alone...Hope takes the throne. Patriarchy rule is sacrificed and the outcome is spiritual truth, wisdom and healing. This deck knows it's stuff and wow I got the major goosebumps at the end of the show when I realized it was pretty spot on. And so: The Sun The Sun card is about basking in your achievement after a lot of hard work and now is a time of happiness and well being. The card shows the astrolabes blades spinning and the fate of powers turning like the Wheel of Fortune. I guess there is no way to really link this with current events on the show except to say that Drogon was probably a lot smarter than the people - he knew enough to do what he had to do and after he melted the Iron Throne, in a heartbreaking gesture, gently picked up his Mom and flew back to Valyria. Perhaps there is hope that he will live a full life or even better, that there may be more dragons waiting for him. One day Arya might discover them? So today, after a lot of hard work you are now able to sit and enjoy the peace -take your day in the Sun, you deserve it! **************** A note: I will be taking a break from the GOTS tarot deck for awhile. I need to let the characters retire in my head for a bit and I want to concentrate on the THOTH deck as well. Letters From the Thoth Tarot
The Universe There is so much in this card and since I am still learning it, I will be brief, for now. From the Book of Thoth, Crowley says, "In the card itself there is consequently a glyph of the completion of the Great Work in its highest sense, exactly as the Atu (Key) of the Fool, symbolizes its beginning. The Fool is the negative issuing into manifestation; the Universe is that manifestation, its purpose accomplished, ready to return." What we started, the Great Work, in the Fool card - we have now completed here in The Universe. The seeds from long ago are now fully grown and ready to harvest. This is a great time to look at all we have accomplished and learned and how far we have come. Then to choose where we go next. Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Enchanted Spell Oracle *Spoilers* For GOTS season 8 The Hermit A time of reflection and solitude. Turning inward to listen to your still, small voice. Or maybe a little warging with the ravens. I know a lot of jokes were running around when Bran decided to "go now," while the Long Night battles were raging - but I guess he felt he had to do what he had to do, even if it looked like he was doing nothing. Bran and The Hermit, follow their calling when they need to because they ultimately know what needs to be done. I guess we might figure out what Bran the Raven has been up to tonight? (Last episode of the show!) Integrity/Ivy This is a reminder to be firm in your beliefs and values. Following your own personal ethics may not always be easy, but it is always the right thing to do. Act with the best possible intentions for all living things. The integrity you live with now is what will follow you the rest of your life. So today remember to be firm in your resolve to do the right things even if people want you to do something different. Only you know the right path to walk for you so trust yourself! If you need time to think and reflect, take it! Follow your calling and stay strong in your beliefs! Letters From the Thoth Tarot
I love it when cards are so timely - for today's full moon: The Moon The moonlight on the card illuminates a path through a lot of the things that can scare us, nightmares and the things that hide in shadow. Our job is to walk that path as bravely as we can. As Crowley says in the Book of Thoth, "It needs unconquerable courage to begin to tread this path." The path runs between twin figures of Anubis, guardian of the dead, and note that the scarab/water spider is carrying the sun on its back - letting us know that the long shadowy night will come to an end. Crowley also says something to maybe help us stay strong on this "Dark night of the soul," path, "How splendid is the Adventure!" (It's all about our attitude) One of my favorite tarot cards, the Moon - illuminates the darkness and helps guide us through intuition and the collective unconscious. Things that are normally hidden in the daylight are now brought to light for us to see and examine and sometimes those things are shadowy and we might want to hide them away but we can't. We need to have the courage to work with them because they are a part of us and the whole Great Work, is to reconcile all our parts into one whole. Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Enchanted Spell Oracle Season 8 GOTs Spoilers Probably Death Changes, transformation and loss, starting over. All of these things have affected Arya and most of the characters this season. She was actually persuaded to walk away from certain death to a maybe not so grisly death in the last episode and now she is moving to some other ending or maybe a beginning of something else? One more episode to go! Clarity/Rosemary Now is the time for focus and staying mindful to what you are doing. Don't let your mind wander or get distracted because you could miss something important. One step at a time will get you to your goal! So today stay focused on your goals and remember that for some things to start, other things have to end. Don't get distracted - stay mindful and go one step at a time! Letters From the Thoth Tarot
Six of Swords This card looks just like what it means - the background of sharp and glassy looking points with the 6 swords resting on top and centering on the small Rose Cross. The symbolism, which is set in The Tree of Life, has Tiphareth bringing balance and clear-headedness to the Swords suit. Also, Mercury, an air planet, is located in the fixed air sign of Aquarius, in this card - giving it a keen mind and a fabulous ability to concentrate and ask enlightening questions - Much like a scientist! This card is about floating in the calmer waters of the mind especially after anxiety, confusion and stress. Seeing things more clearly and with a sharper focus that lets us find solutions to problems much more easily than before. We can ask better questions that supply better answers and this helps ease the tensions that too many confusing thoughts can stir up. Daily Mindfulness
Game of Thrones Tarot/Enchanted Spell Oracle *SPOILERS* season 8 GOTS Two of Swords Arya - in this card she was still in the House of Black and White, learning and deciding what she wants to do. Currently, she had to decide whether to live by leaving The Hound or die and go with him and she didn't have a lot of time because Kings Landing was falling down around her. Things are moving quickly now and she has a lot of things to think about. She needs to think carefully but she can't procrastinate - anything to keep her moving forward safely will do. Patience/Willow This is a time of waiting, being patient and content while doing so. When we take the time to stop reacting, we can often see the bigger picture that can help us make better decisions. Sometimes it is a great idea to get a different perspective and viewpoint. So today is a good time to gain perspective and a larger viewpoint. You may have a lot of decisions that need to be made but take a moment to see the bigger picture. Things don't have to be perfect, they just need to keep you moving forward. Letters From the Thoth Tarot
Art This card reminds me of the book, The Great and Secret Show by Clive Barker. In it, the antagonist is trying to learn and master "The Art," for his Great Work. Sound familiar? Crowley refers to The Great Work as a conscious process of spiritual growth. Symbolically, this card represents the consummation of the royal marriage in KeyVI - (Lovers). There is a lot of alchemical goodness going on here and Crowley says, "but this is only a crude symbol of the spiritual idea, which is the satisfaction of the desire of the incomplete element of one kind to satisfy its formula by assimilation of its equal and opposite." The title of the card, "Daughter of Reconcilers, the Bringer forth of Life," makes a lot of sense in that regard. We are the artist and this card is full of creation and transformation - reconciliation and the unity of opposites. How can you create your own great work/spiritual growth? From inventiveness and creativity and our own unique powers of transformation. This creative power takes us to our roots and connects us to the Absolute and to unite desire and reality. Game of Thrones Tarot/Enchanted Spell Oracle *SPOILERS for GOTs Season 8* Also, the cards must be paying attention to my vibes because they are all so relevant to the current events on the show ;) King of Cups King of the North - Jon has the warmth and emotional steadiness to lead his people. He often does what he needs to over what he really wants because he knows it's for the best. He has the ability to stay balanced under pressure and he is acutely aware of how other people are feeling. Also, if I have to hear him say, "YOU ARE MAH QUEEN," one more time, I may get a bit twitchy. Right now, he is on the brink of what could be a disaster - while he doesn't want to lead he may have to do just that - at the risk of everything. Strength/Oak This card reminds us to stay strong and not give up. It may feel like you have been slogging at something for a long time with no results but you are so close to finishing! Stick with it just a little longer - it will be worth the wait! So today is a time to stay strong and balanced and do what is best for all involved. Even if it feels like we are getting nowhere, we are so close to accomplishing our goals - so stay with it and know you can do whatever it takes to succeed! |
