Daily Mindfulness
Both of these are my cards - I am Aries hear me roar! Also, I need this powerful combination right now. When times are so stressful and confusing, these two cards give me all the strength I need to get things done and to stay strong mentally and physically. Queen of Wands Water of Fire, this Queen is adaptable, calm in her authority and has a fiery energy. She is generous and always willing to help, but she is also impatient when things get in her way. For all of that, she is a strong woman who will put up with zero crap and will always speak her mind honestly, even if you don't want to hear it. With this kind of fiery, creative and passionate energy, you can get anything done! The Emperor Third alchemical trump, Sulfur, The Emperor represents Aries - Mars rules and Sol is exulted. Crowley says that the sign is thus a combination of energy in its most material form with the idea of authority. He is the masculine life force, dynamic, authoritative and full of strong leadership. He is less emotional than his Empress - this energy is perfect for standing strong when feeling vulnerable. Stand strong in your power and trust yourself.

A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Ten of Disks Here we are at the end of our journey through the Thoth Deck! The ten represents the climax of the descent of matter and is the signal for the redintegration by Spirit. Crowley calls this card, "a hieroglyph of the cycle of regeneration." It is the last card in the deck and sits in the lowest sphere (Malkuth), in the lowest world (Assiah) This is the only ten that has nowhere to go (all the other tens fall down to the next lower suit.) So this ten is going to do something different. From its place at the bottom of its world it has to link up with the secret of creation - to regenerate itself and the top of the tarot cycle. Even the card art shows this. A Tree of Life, with Malkuth, our ten, big and ponderous at the bottom and it needs to refresh itself to get back up to the top! Crowley says, "When wealth accumulates beyond a certain point, it must either become completely inert and cease to be wealth, or call in the aid of intelligence to use it rightly... In this way Carnegie establishes a library or Rockefeller endows research, simply because there is nothing else to do." Completion of material gain and fortune but nothing beyond - the pinnacle of success. Our final manifestation. The completion of our Great Work in this cycle! There is such security here but we must not become greedy or selfish with our gains. Find outlets for your wealth so they don't degenerate into stagnant nothingness. This goes for material as well as inner or mental wealth. Don't hoard or close yourself off. Keep this energy flowing, the more open you are, the more you will be blessed and stay endlessly wealthy. ************************* I just want to thank everyone who joined me on this Thoth journey! I have learned so much and loved sharing with you all! Let's keep this energy moving and a groovin and keep going forward with our own Great Work! A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Nine of Disks Now this is a lovely looking card. It has balance and a calm feel to it. It sits in Yesod, which gives us satisfaction and reflection. Crowley tells us, "This card is ruled by Venus in Virgo. It shows good luck attending material affairs, favor and popularity. ... the mingling of good luck and good management." He uses 'good luck' twice so that must be a good thing! I also like what he says about the suit of Disks as a whole. "The suit of Disks is much too dull to care; it reckons up its winnings; it does not worry its head about whether anything is won when all is won." Complete realization of material things. We have put in the work and can now settle comfortably into life. There is a lot of fantastic energy here, so stay open to it and keep it flowing. What we give in life is what we get - so be sure to share this awesome abundance. A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Eight of Disks While low on the Tree of Life, (this card sits in Hod) it is still a much better card than the seven! Hod is in Mercury and Mercury sits exalted in Virgo - mutable Earth sign, therefore it stabilizes us. Earth is the element of Assiah, which is home to the suit of Disks - we are all happy here! Crowley says, "this card signifies intelligence lovingly applied to material matters, especially those of the agriculturist, arificer and engineer." This card, Prudence, is about waiting and having patience. We plant and wait. Wait and see what comes of the work we have done. Time and consideration is good here. We have learned not to rush headfirst into something now. Like an apprentice trying to learn his craft, we take things slowly and one step at a time. A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Seven of Disks Eh, this is not a very appealing card to see but it has its lessons - mostly about being patient and waiting for this to be over. We enter Netzach and lose our balance we worked hard to gain (again) Crowley says, "There is no effort here; not even dream; the stake has been thrown down, and it is lost. That is all labour itself is abandoned; everything is sunk in sloth." Nothing worked out the way we wanted it too and our hoped got squashed. But here's the thing. We our hopes realistic? Did we want to achieve more than what we should have been aiming at? Failure and disappointment happen. When they do, we need to look at what happened, learned from it and let it go. Don't dwell on it! A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Six of Disks So much better here than in the five! The Moon is in Taurus and so happy to be there! And while the Moon means constant change, the card is in Tiphareth which "represents consciousness in its most harmonized and balanced form." (BOT) We are balanced again and we have now gone through some good and bad times, giving us more experience in dealing with these things. We are also learning to stay balanced instead of rising and falling with the highs and lows life can toss at us. In this way we are better able to see what is going on around us without reacting or overreacting to things first. This inner balance and harmony is an important part in our Great Work, it keeps us connected to the Universe and the energy flowing freely! A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Five of Disks This card sits in Geburah and ruins the balance we had. Without the previous structure we get antsy about things. This brings trouble to our material world and anxiety to us as well try to deal with it. The best thing to do is take things one step at a time. Try not to feed the anxiety/stress machine by dealing with the things you can deal with and let go of the things that aren't actually in your way. This way you can find a working solution to the obstacles you face. A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Four of Disks We have an aerial view of a citadel, surrounded by a moat. The watchtowers hold the symbols for the elements. We have a balance and structure here, in the realm of Chesed, which also gives us stability and growth. What we started with the three is now coming to fruition. We have a nice stability here and we feel good - the hard work we have put in has paid off and we feel a nice security in our success. Also to note - it is always a good idea to share our success with others and not hoard or let it stagnate. Keep that energy and success, moving forward! A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Three of Disks I like this card - it looks wooshy - like getting things done. Crowley says, "it is the material establishment of the idea of the Universe, the determination of its basic form." This card is in Binah which gives us perception and understanding - givings us the acuity to take the ideas from the two and get them going here. Also, this card has an alchemical reaction going on. On each of the hubs are the symbols for mercury, sulfur and salt. Giving us the suggestion of the eternal universe sustaining competition of the three gunas. This is a time of building up our forces to understand what it is we want to manifest and then get to creating it! A Walk Through the Thoth Tarot
Two of Disks Crowley called this card, "the picture of complete manifested Universe, in respect of its dynamics." All of the two's represent the first manifestation of their element (Aces are the seeds) Disks = earth and earth = the throne of spirit. It sits in Chokmah, realm of creation and energy - it takes our seed from the Ace and gets it moving. It also reminds us that everything is in constant change, ever moving to stay balanced. It is a time to stay open and flexible, not letting anything get stagnate. This card kind of looks like a splitting cell, dividing and getting ready to grow in the material world. All of the elements are symbolised in here - everything we need to get creating. |
