Seven of Wands

Kind of looks just like the six with different colors except the seven has a pretty heavy looking wand blocking the six underneath it.  From the Book of Thoth: The four Sevens are not capable of bringing any comfort; each one represents the degeneration of the element. Its utmost weakness is exposed in every case.

There is so much energy sitting here but it really has no idea where it wants to go so it's like flailing around in the dark. Crowley says, "The army has been thrown into disorder; if victory is to be won, it will be by dint of individual valour - a soldiers battle."

Possible victory, depending on the energy and courage exercised, valour, opposition, obstacles, yet the courage to meet them.  There is going to be some frustration here but the key word is courage!  Stand strong. This is something that only you can do on your own here. "individual valour."  Don't let anyone undermine your Will. With courage and strength you can do anything.

Six of Wands

The sixes of each element are awesome - (Cups/Pleasure, Swords/Science, Disks/Success) and Wands is Victory. This card sits in Tiphareth on the Tree of Life, which is a direct reflection of Kether. Balanced perfectly in the heart! Not only that, but the correspondence is Jupiter in Leo and that gives this six a happy, peppy and powerful boost of energy for a total Victory.

Victory after strife, love, pleasure gained by labor.  After the heaviness of the five, we find our way back through the struggles to a clear and easy moving path. You worked hard so enjoy this time, you earned it.

Five of Wands

Crowley quite liked this card a lot - it is one of only three cards where he left his mark on it. (the seven pointed star/Mark of the Beast on the orb at center)  This card goes all over the map, Leo is happy in Geburah (both are fiery) and Geburah gives us motion and strength/activity. But Saturn gives us a resistance that can feel heavy.  Just looking at it you can see the light wands with a fiery energy, but a heavy wand blocks it from going anywhere.

There is energy but also frustration as if we just can't seem to get moving with any progress.  This happens from time to time but if we realize that and remind ourselves that it will pass - we can try to find the patience and the humor to wait it out.  There are other things we can do while we let the frustrating bits simmer until they are ready to go!

Four of Wands

This card sits in Chesed (the 4th sephira) and is the first one below the Abyss. Meaning that the 4's are the first solid manifestation of their suits.   This is where the Demiurge comes in - a god who thinks he is the creator of its universe but is really only the 4 principal, not the first as he thinks, and unaware of the three who come before it.  He is really only the visible manifestation of the invisible primal forces that created him. But! The Demiurge brings rule of law to the Universe - a characteristic that all the 4 small cards share.

Harris created a wheel by taking four wands and making them into eight spokes - with the dove of Venus and the Ram of Aries/Mars.  Crowley says, "Venus in Aries indicates the one cannot establish one's work without tact and gentleness."

Perfection or completion of a thing built up with trouble and labor. Rest after labor.  Now we are starting to manifest our goals, but it's only the start! Like the wheel, we need to keep turning and moving so we don't get stuck or stagnate. Stay balanced and focused and keep on moving forward.

Three of Wands

Sol in Aries, this card gives off the feeling of a brilliant heat - the solar energy of creation. The Sun in Spring when it wakes things up again.   Crowley says, "The idea has become fertilized, the triangle has been formulated.  In each case, the idea is of a certain stability which can never be upset, but from which a child can issue." (The child is the rest of the small cards 4 - 10)

The great power and the Will to use it (That we mastered in the 2 of Wands) is now fertilized.  Established force, strength, realization of hope. Success after struggle.  We learned to gather our Will and now it is time to be sure we are centered and balanced. Be aware of what it is we truly want and understand how to go about creating it. Be confident and believe in yourself.

Two of Wands

This card is explosive in energy - The Reds of Aries with Mars loving it there.  Crowley says that this is a strong astrological marriage in Chokmah (Where elements first manifest)  and makes the Two of Wands fire in its best and highest form - it represents what he calls "Will in its most exalted form - ideal Will, independent of any given object."

These wands are Tibetan Dorjes and represent directed power of the gods. They serve as the divine instrument of destruction that must precede the creative cycle. You have to break something to fertilize it.

Boldness,  courage, strength. Influence over others.  This is where we take control of our own Will and channel it into creating what we need. We rule our own domains and this is our opportunity to create exactly what we want in life. Plan well and use this energy to make it happen,

The aces represent the roots of the four elements. They are distinct from the other small cards and there is no real manifestation of the element in its material form. They form a link between the small cards and the Princess. The Aces are not the elements themselves but the seeds of those elements.

Ace of Wands

This card represents the essence of the element of Fire in its inception. A solar-phallic outburst of flame from which spring lightnings in every direction.  (BOT)  Lady Harris also drew this Ace as a giant fiery Tree of Life.

This explosive and fiery energy starts the wands suit going, the seeds of desire - our Will getting ready to roll.   This is a potent energy but it isn't formed yet, so be sure to create a plan of action, goals, something to aim this energy at. Then hold on tight!

Princess of Wands

Earth of Fire, Crowley says, "this card may be said to represent the dance of the virgin priestess of the Lords of Fire."

She is the fuel for the fire, self-assured, energetic and independant. She is that crazy audacious friend who is up for anything. The one that says, "let's see what happens when I do this."

She can also be a drama queen who gets stuck in her own head and if she isn't careful, she will use her Earth fuel to not only start the fire but blow up the city as well.

Use this energy to blow out any old fears or habits - grab your tiger by the tail and become the person you know you can be!

Prince of Wands

Air of Fire, this is Crowley's idealized image of himself, his personal seal the Mark of the Beast, on his chest. He is also seated in the Thunderbolt asana which was Crowley's favorite yoga posture.

His character is noble and generous. He may be an extravagant boaster, while slyly laughing both at the object of the boast and at himself for making it. His courage is strong and endurance indefatigable. He is always fighting the odds and always wins in the long run. (BOT)

This is the energy you need when you have a lot of challenges to tackle or when you are feeling doubts about your abilities to deal with things.  Stand strong and stay confident!

Queen of Wands

Water of Fire this Queen is adaptable, calm in her authority and has a fiery energy. She is generous and always willing to help, but she is also impatient when things get in her way.  I love the way Crowley describes her, "when she misses her bite, she breaks her jaw!"

For all of that, she is a strong woman who will put up with zero crap and will always speak her mind honestly, even if you don't want to hear it. With this kind of fiery, creative and passionate energy, you can get anything done!
