This pretty perennial is most known for chicory coffee but can also be used in salads and teas.  But it is most valuable as animal fodder - it supplements the diet in livestock when other grazing crops are scarce. That gives this plant the oracle property of Sustain.

Sustain speaks to the availability and usefulness of this plant in hard times. It gives nourishment and nutrients to many animals and helps sustain them.  Much like the Six of Pentacles, this card reminds us that we all have skills and talents for various things and we can contribute and help those who need our skills and then we we need the help, the community gives back with their given skills.  Giving or receiving, it is all about helping everyone sustain with grace and compassion.
